I simultaneously felt the cold nail polish on my fingers and the soft brush on my hair. The strong metallic and sweet odor caused my stomach to churn, but I couldn't tell whether it was the nail polish or my nervousness that was involved.

As one of the maids attempted to apply mascara to my unstable blinking eyes, I apologized after she attempted to conceal her anger by tsking incessantly.

"Ma’am”, please," she pleaded.

I apologized again after clearing my voice.

Once I had completed adorning my face, I was calmly instructed to stand and cautiously enter my luxurious purple silk gown.

I was following whatever these maids in black and blue uniforms told me, and before I knew it, I looked like a completely different person as I stood in front of the mirror to look at myself.

"You look amazing, ma'am." The youngest-looking maid among them said, smiling at me.

I wanted to thank her, but I couldn't find my voice after she continued.

"Master will really be pleased with you."

Master...

The word nearly made me lose it.

Another maid nudged the maid, who appeared to be running her mouth in front of me, which I noticed was not allowed, and they all apologized to me before walking out.

I stood alone in the quiet room, watching my image in the mirror. I did look good, but it didn't matter, because what was I doing in an enormous house being dolled up for someone I hadn't met but was already terrified of?

Someone who used the title 'Master.'

It is the twenty-first century, so who in the world still uses the title Master?

'Someone who lives in a villa like this one' My female subconscious puckered, and I breathed out a sigh.

Then why me?

I ponder this question on a daily basis.

One minute, I was having a great time with my best friend Bailey in a nightclub. The next minute, my mouth and nose were immediately gauzed, making me lose consciousness. Much to my astonishment, I found myself waking up in a luxurious villa like this.

A place where I was held in high regard and treated with the utmost admiration, as if I were a rare treasure.

Despite my repeated questions about the reason for my presence and my purpose here, no one provided any answers.

And I’ve only ever encountered maids here.

However, it was a topic that everyone seemed to avoid discussing.

But there was something that everyone here made clear to me.

"I was solely for their master."

I had no idea who this master was; I had never seen him before, and today would be my seventh day here.

It also happened to be the day I'd meet the master.

I've heard about this so-called master since my first day here.

But he's out of the country and won't return until today, which is why the maids had me all dressed up.

But I genuinely want to know how to leave this place.

I was well fed, and I get whatever I want whenever I ask, even though I barely ask, but I still want to leave.

Because two days ago, Trinity, the head maid, made a tremendous slip of the tongue when she declared I'd be nothing but living for the Master.

How could I live for someone else instead of myself?

Everything that happened was ludicrous. Is this Master someone I know?. Or does he know me? Why me?

Why am I the victim of such?

Lost in my own thoughts, I was abruptly brought back to reality by the sound of the door clicking shut. It dawned on me that I had been standing in front of the mirror for an extended period of time.

I got myself composed; my gaze was unwavering as the door slowly opened.

Was it time?

Was I going to finally meet the so-called master for the first time?

I could feel my heart racing, and despite my best efforts to appear calm, I became more anxious.

A mysterious figure entered the room, instantly capturing my attention.

It was a man. He was quite imposing, with his tall stature and strong presence. His piercing gaze seemed to hold a sense of superiority, while his dirty blonde hair was pulled back. Dressed entirely in black, he exuded an air of mystery.

I became quite frightened as his demeanor suggested he was on the verge of causing harm.

I could sense my legs growing weak and my eyes twitching.

Why me?

"Good morning, Miss Joanne." A gentle smile graced the man's face, causing my heart to momentarily flutter before returning to its steady rhythm.

"Go-Good morning" I tried not to stutter, but I failed.

"He'll be here any second now." The man nodded before walking out of the room.

What was that?

I froze in place, unable to find my words once more. Attempting to comprehend everything that’s happening.

Was he talking about the real master?

For a moment, I had mistaken that man for the supposed master of this luxurious villa.

I cleared my throat and smoothed out the folds on my dress as the door swung open once more.

I lifted my head to meet the gaze of my unexpected visitor.

I was taken aback internally, as I made every effort to maintain my composure and display proper manners, as Trinity, the head maid, had instructed me to do.

But with the man standing before me...

The real master, I suppose.

From what I observed, he appeared to be tall, very tall, with sleek, dark hair that glistened in the room's lighting.

His intense gaze held a certain power as he looked directly at me.

His nose stood out prominently on his chiseled face, complemented by a neatly shaped hint of stubble.

He appeared to be quite striking, causing me to hold my breath as my gaze fell upon his chest, straining against the fabric of his sleek black shirt.

I couldn't help but notice the exquisite rings adorning his fingers, along with the luxurious wristwatch that exuded an air of wealth far beyond what instincts suggested.

I observed as he glanced at my entire body briefly before lifting his gaze to meet mine.

"You don't appear as expected," he said with a deep voice that filled the entire room.

"However, you look promising." He proceeded.

"I'm certain you're aware that it's happening tonight." He said that and left the room, leaving behind a sense of uncertainty.

My heart sank as I reluctantly turned to face my reflection once more.

I have no freaking idea what he’s talking about.

What was happening tonight?

He couldn’t just leave without explaining, leaving me in a difficult position.

Somebody? Anybody? What was happening tonight?
