The questions all came at me at once, and I found myself heaving.

"Oops,” I bite my bottom lip. “I wasn’t supposed to say that. Hardy and I wanted to keep a secret until birth day.” I lied with a smile.

I had all the attention in the room now, and I knew instantly that Anne had lost this round.

I was playing a big role now, and I had no chance to mess it up anyway.

“Don’t worry, whatever happens in the white Aleo house stays with us here. Your secret is safe with us” Aneesa nodded.
