May came into the house, whistling and dancing. It's the first time they are seeing her smile like that since the year began. She did not even smile like this on her own birthday.

"Morning mom, dad and dear sister." She danced away happily.

This got everyone flustered as she never greets them. What's worse is that she hardly ever smiles at Debra. She did not come home last night, this got them wondering what trouble she created for her to be this happy. It must be trouble, since that what she knows how to do best, according to her parents.

Their mother Celine went close to Debra. "Is she okay? Is she high on something."

"I don't know. She seems to be happy. I'll check on her." Debra said, curious as to why May was happy. It made her feel a bit uncomfortable.

Celine turned to Dave, her husband worried. "Don't you think we should be worried? What if she's planning something?"

Dave scoffed, "This is why I said I won't pay her fees. I will ask her when she comes out. She better confess what she did or things won't be the same."

"Calm down honey, I don't think she's really doing something that much. Let's not jump into conclusions yet." Celine quickly said to stop his anger. Because anger can make his blood pressure high, which won't be good for him.

Debra followed May to her room where she happened to see May counting some money. The money seems to be a lot, which made Debra more curious.

"May! Where did you get such a large amount of money?" Debra asked.

May looked at her and scoffed, "I stole it. You can tell mom and dad that."

Debra gasped, "Listen, I know you don't like me but don't do this. Tell me the truth now."

"I just told you the truth, I stole it. And it's none of your business, stop asking questions and go back to your parents." May rudely said.

This seems to have made Debra angry. She moved closer to May and slapped her. Then she quickly withdrew her hand like nothing happened.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" May roared, this grabbed the attention of her parents. They heard and rushed over to the room.

"You shouldn't talk about our parents like that. I'm sorry but I couldn't take it anymore." Debra said.

"What? Are you kidding me you wench!" May pushed Debra, and she fell right when their parents walked in.

Their eyes widened seeing what May did to Debra. They assumed May was assaulting Debra. Dave moved closer to May and slapped her without asking.

"How dare you hit your sister?! Where are your manners?" He snapped at her.

May held her face, almost tearing up but stopped herself. She is used to this kind of treatment everytime.

"What happened? Debra only came here to ask why you were so happy. How can you push her because of that?" Celine asked, having mixed emotions as she could see the anger evident on May's face.

"She slapped me first! This is what you should have asked before taking one person's side?!" May yanked rudely.

"Slapped? I don't think so." Her mother replied in disbelief.

"She's right mom." Debra said looking down, "I slapped her because she said something about you being my parents alone."

"Isn't that true? Why should I be hit because of that huh? Why?!" May sneered.

"You rude brat! Debra would never do that unless you did something that pushed her buttons!" Her father fired back.

"I'm sorry dad, please don't scold her anymore. I shouldn't have done that May, I'm sorry." Debra tried to go close to May but May dodged her.

"Don't be sorry, isn't this what you wanted. Always acting dramatic to put on a show." May took her back and made way to the door.

"You still haven't told me how you got the money." Debra said making her stop.

"Money? What money is she talking about May? What did you do this time?!"

May turned to Debra with a death glare. "I stole it. Don't worry, I won't ruin your perfect image Debra."

"Stop! Everytime you do this, your actions affect everyone. Can you think about everyone for once and stop being so selfish?! Why do you..." Debra's breathing became erratic.

"Oh my God! Debra! Sweetie calm down!" Celine grabbed her trying to calm her down, it's seems she is having a panic attack.

May rolled her eyes and got out of the room. She left the house and took the cab somewhere very far and quiet. She went to a very quiet side of the beach. She faced the water, smoking and smiling in pain. The tears she fought hard to stop started falling. At times like this, she would go to her best friend for comfort but she is not around. The words her parents and sister always says echo in her ears.

"You are a disgrace to this family!"

"Can you just stop?! Don't do anything, just stop!"

"Why do you exist?"

"You are so selfish! Stop ruining our lives!"

Why does it always have to be her fault? What exactly did she do wrong? They did not even ask her why she did it. They just attacked her before they asked anything. What's the use in explaining if they are only going to believe Debra over her? This only made her hatred for her parents grow more. She began to confirm that they indeed are not her parents. She was adopted most definitely. There's no other way to explain why they treat her this way.

May slept out in the cold till the next day. She hardly had any food as her mood was not good enough to be hungry. She went back home and met her parents getting ready to go somewhere. Her sister's also checking clothes with her mother. She ignored them and went to her room. She took a shower and dressed up, ready to go to school.

Just as she was spraying perfume, Debra walked into her room without knocking again.

"Do you think you have any right to walk in and out of my room the way you want?" May asked getting annoyed by her presence again.

But Debra seemed to be in a good mood, she just smiled instead of getting worked up like yesterday.

"We had a silly fight yesterday and I'm over it. Come on, don't be like this. I already forgave your silliness..."

"You forgive me?" May mocked, "I don't need your forgiveness Barbie. Keep that in your pocket."

Debra waved it off, "I guess you're back to your old self. I'm in a good mood today, so I won't get mad. I've got to do something that's important to my future today, I'm so happy."

"So? Should I jump off a bridge in happiness?" May replied sarcastic. Though she was curious about what it was. She felt uncomfortable that her parents focused only on one person's future.

"I'll be going to the spa with mom today, do you want to come with us?" Debra offered, knowing May loves the spa.

"No thanks." May declined and walked out of the room without looking back.

Debra followed her outside, "Come on May, it's the spa! You love the spa, let's go together."

"Let her be if she doesn't want to come with us." Celine stopped Debra.

May rolled her eyes, "Of course, you wouldn't want people to know you're related to me right?"

"You!" Dave wanted to hit her but Celine stopped him.

"Let her go honey, it's not worth it."

May walked out of the house majestically, Debra shook her head and faced her father.

"Let her be dad, I think she's going through puberty everyday."

As soon as May got to school, she bumped into Caleb who has been waiting for her all along. She dodged Caleb to run away but soon bumped into his friends who blocks her way.

"Why are you running from me baby? Do you hate me that much?" Caleb teased.

May scoffed, folding her arms on her chest. "Why would I be scared of you? What's so great about you? Did it hurt your pride so much that I dumped you that you can't forget me?"

Caleb frowned, "You're so bold, I'm going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget."

He wanted to pull May's hair, she hit him in the wiener again and pushed the person in front of her. That's what she has been calculating since. They wanted to chase her, but she bumped into someone. She bumped into a muscular and taller body, who pulled her closer by the waist.

"What do you think you're doing?" Came the familiar voice that Caleb has heard before.

"Who the hell are you? Let me go!" She glared at him.

"Darling, you don't remember me?" He pouted, making May disgusted.

The others moved back on seeing him. It was Jared, the one who beat Caleb the other night. May's eyes widened as she got a quick flashback of who he was. She doesn't know his name, but did remember who he is.

"Seems like you remember me darling." He smirked, holding her tighter.

"Why are you holding her? Are you dating her?" Caleb asked him.

"Yes, she's my girlfriend. Got a problem? Aren't you guys over already?"

"What?" They all exclaimed, including May.
