I watched as my phone rang for what felt like the hundredth time. Why was she calling me after I had specifically told her that she shouldn’t contact me throughout the period that Layla and the kids would be in New York?

Becky was getting on my nerves, and I had been patient enough. Not only did she take advantage of me and rope me into being the father of her child, but she was also trying to make my life miserable.

It had been one month since I found out that the child was actually mine. I had provided her with money and whatever she needed, but it still wasn’t enough for her.

It was as though a switch was flipped because she turned into a different person. She wanted me to accompany her to all her hospital checkups.

Whenever I refused, she threatened to go to the public with the information, even if it meant getting into trouble. She always acted like the victim, and it was exhausting.
