Chapter 9

I choked on the water I was drinking when I saw the guy approaching my spot. I quickly wiped my lips and gave him a sharp look. He was wearing a gray tank top, white shoes, shorts, and even sunglasses. He was even carrying two dogs.

He waved to people who knew him, acting foolishly. I just shook my head and looked away, pretending not to know him.

"Hi coach!" he shouted from behind me.

I closed my eyes briefly but then resumed walking. However, he caught up to me quickly and put his arm around me. Almost everyone was looking at us.

"Coach, I didn't know you jogged here! Turns out we're jogging buddies!" he said cheerfully.

I rolled my eyes, trying to shake off his arm. "I don't jog, Oliver. I run. There's a difference," I replied, keeping my tone icy.

He laughed, keeping his arm around my shoulders. "Really? What's the difference then?"
