Persy was drunk. And probably helplessly so.

I checked my watch to see the time, and noticed that it was just noon. What was she doing, getting drunk on a hot afternoon?

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I asked her, taking my hand off my laptop and sitting straighter.

"Nothing! I'm just… I just wonder whether you already knew? D-Did you know you'll be a dad?" She repeated that nonsense again, and this time, I paused before asking,

"Are you carrying my baby?"

"You wish." She chortled, dashing my hopes to the ground. It was then that I realized that I actually had no issue with her carrying my baby. For a while there, I had hoped she would say yes.

Would it complicate things? Yes. Did I want things to be complicated? No… and well, sometimes, yes.

"I was working before you called, Kassie. I can hear that you are having fun. Keep up with it, we would talk later." I started to hang up when she muttered,

"Has she… she not told you yet?"

"Who?"

"Ash. She's carrying your baby." She
