Chapter 6: Olivia

last update publish date: 2026-05-01 00:06:42

This was a mistake.

Someone pushes his girlfriend behind him, growling at me like my disgusting human genes will corrupt her.

But his hatred doesn’t even match the one from the large, tattooed Lycan standing in front of me.

We lock eyes.

“Human.” He snarls, making goosebumps flare over my skin.

Who needs the council to kill me when this massive man will crush my head in a second?

Right as I turn to make a beeline out the door, Ryker’s voice rises from the crowd, “Axel, lay off her. I invited her here.”

Whispers float through the crowd, but the boy, Axel, doesn't seem to have heard Ryker.

Instead, Axel keeps staring at me, and when he finally speaks, it's laced with enough acid to burn my soul: “Get the fuck out of my house.”

His house?

The Crestridge house?

Oh shit, that means he’s-

“Alpha.” Ryker confirms, “We don't have time for this. Talon, remember?”

There’s a shift in his silver eyes, something like worry, and he breaks out of his trance.

I’m about to exhale when he marches over to me. I scurry away, but I'm not fast enough. Axel grabs my neck, shoving me into a wall with a crack.

People gasp, but I can’t move my head to look at them. Axel has trapped me with his death glare and tattooed hand.

“I’m leaving.” He says lowly, “I don’t want to get back here and find you in my house. Understood?”

I try to spit my answer, but Axel’s fingers clench hard enough to bruise me. He’s not squeezing to choke, but it still hurts like a bitch.

“Axel, come on!” Ryker cries.

Axel doesn’t budge. His eyes remain on mine, almost like he can’t look away. He overwhelms me with his peppermint and leathery scent.

He inhales my scent, and a tick in his sharp jaw flexes. I swear his eyes shift for a second to the deepest black I’ve ever seen.

Finally, he lets me go.

I crumple to my knees, holding my throbbing throat.

I think that’s the end of it, but then he slowly kneels by me.

“You know.” He whispers, “I’ve heard great things about Alpha Rick. He was the leader of the Werewolf Council before he made the mistake of getting you, yes? They kicked him out for keeping you?”

I turn to the wall to hide my shame, but Axel squeezes my cheeks and snaps my face back to his.

“Answer me.” He growls.

“Yes.” I croak through my sore throat, “Yes.”

He tsks, “What a failure he’s become. No job. No power. No respect. All because he wanted to protect the enemy. If I were him, I wouldn’t have thought you were worth my time.”

“Axel, stop.” Ryker snarls.

But I don’t think Axel could stop if he wanted to.

His eyes gloss over. “Say it.”

“Say what?” I manage to bite at him.

“Say you’re worthless.”

“I-I’m”

I nearly let the word slip, but Alpha Rick raised me with more dignity than that. I match Axel’s glare.

If I’m going to die, I might as well do it bravely.

His fingers bite harder into my cheeks, but still, I don’t give in to him. Instead, I tilt my head up, daring him to kill me.

His eyes shift again, causing a shiver to trail down my spine.

Finally, Axel’s nose crinkles in disgust, and he shoves me away. He rises back to his full height, towering over me again.

His enormous, tattooed body shadows me like a God.

Like a devil.

Finally, he huffs, marching out the door.

Ryker follows close behind, staring at me with the most pitying look I’ve ever seen in my life.

“I’m sorry.” He says hastily as he passes, “I’m so sorry, Olivia. He’s not usually like this. I’ll talk to him. He’ll stop, he’ll-”

“Stop?” Axel pauses at the door, looking at Ryker like he said a slur.

When the Alpha turns back to me, my heart stutters.

But the promise he growls next is what kills me, “Trust me, human. I haven’t even begun with you.”

  • Bite   Nester

Question: How do you claim something that doesn’t want to be claimed?Well, first, you wait. You spend a large chunk of your time, of your life, hoping and praying that one day they turn their gaze your way and pick you out of all the fools there are to pick.Like with Quinn. So much of what I did with her was an elaborate waiting game. And for the most part, it worked: I waited for her to see I was worth loving, and when we had our first kiss just outside her house, I knew I had finally gotten my wish.I waited for her to choose me, and over and over again she did. I was grateful. I was in love. And then, when the war happened, I waited for her to pick me again. This time, it wasn’t as easy as the other times. This time, she wanted to get away from me.So I can’t understand what it’s like, loving someone as deeply as I loved my Quinn and having that affection thrown in the mud.I was upset, to say the least. But not half as upset as when she died.It was an accident. At least, that's

  • Bite   Chapter 172: Olivia

The drive is long, but the silence is longer. I spend the first half of the way there darting my eyes out of the windows, afraid Nester would be running behind us with gleaming, angry eyes. But an hour in, with no sign of any other life except the five of us, I realize Nester/Principal Watson isn’t anywhere on our trail. I don’t know if that makes me feel better or worse. What I do know is that once the anxiety of that wears down, a completely different, overtaking stress hits me as I glance at my boys. By taking me away, they are taking away their opportunity to graduate. “We have to go back,” I state plainly. Axel barks a harsh laugh from the driver seat. “Good to see you’re no longer in pain.” “Axel, I’m serious.” He slows down for a second so he can stare at me. “So are we.” I let out an anxious huff, turning to Hunter in the passenger seat, “Get him to turn the car around.” “Not doing that,” Hunter says. It’s so simple, as if he isn’t leaving his parents behind. Ryker

“Talon, what’s-“ “Happening to you?” he finishes for me. “I don’t know. You’re shifting. You’re grieving. You’re already powerful without either of those things. So maybe it’s all three. Maybe it’s none of that. All I know is if we don’t get out of this school before Principal Watson finds out what just happened, he will mate you here and now.” My heart lurches as Talon cups my cheeks with his warm palms. Ryker appears beside me, his scent more smoke than vanilla. “I’ll kill him before I let him bite you.” His promise steadies me; they all do. It’s enough to give me a second to recalibrate and fucking think. I nod, heaving in a heavy breath. “Okay?” Talon confirms. “Okay, okay.” I’m breathless, but Talon kisses the top of my head regardless. He pulls me, allowing us to weave through the destroyed cafeteria as eyes either look at me intently or avoid me altogether. I’ve become the monster they all wanted me to be. The second Talon and I are out of the hall, we take

  • Bite    Chapter 170: Olivia

I explode. Magic flows out of my fingers, my eyes, my hair, my mouth as I scream. Everywhere is gold. I am gold. I don’t know how to stop or if I even can; all I know is that I’m magic and magic is me. “Olivia!” A warbled yell tries to break through to me, but as much as I try to reach it, I can’t. People around me fall to their knees, not speaking or moving. I can’t raise my head to stare at them because of the force of magic that’s weighing me down. I think I’m going to be crushed by my own power. “Olivia!” A voice calls again; deeper this time, more commanding. Axel. With all my might, I snap my head up and watch him blaze a path toward me. He’s lit up like a torch. His usually silver eyes bore into mine with as much gold as there is in the cafeteria. He falls to his knees in front of me, shouting, “Olivia, let go!” I can’t. Even if I wanted to, I can’t. Is this what I really am? What Nester wants to snatch and take as his own? Suddenly, my hand sears

  • Bite   Chapter 169: Olivia

I feel like I’ve been whipped. The boy’s spiteful eyes remain fixed on me. If this were any other day, any other situation, I would say he has pretty eyes: brown and rimmed green. But as they look at me, I feel electrified in the worst way possible. Axel leans over my shoulder, harsh words spilling out of his mouth, “The fuck did you just say to her?” Every eye in the hall is on us as the boy stands his ground, “You heard me, Parker.” Axel growls, a warning sound. “If I were you, boy, I would walk away.” If I were him, I’d walk away too. He must be less than half Axel’s height, and his scrawny build is enough to know who would win in a physical fight between the two. But the boy stands tall (as tall as he can be), holding the lapels of his blazer with pride. “If anyone is walking away, it’s the five of you,” he goes on confidently. “I used to look up to the CrestRidge pack; everyone did. But it’s clear frolicking with the human has messed you all up.” He leans closer, and a v

I make my way to the lunch hall as if nothing happened. But inside, my heart is pounding a million miles per second Nester has a way of getting in my head, that much is clear, but I know escaping him wouldn’t be as easy this time as it was before. Students dodge me as I pass by. Clearly, the idea that I murdered my dad is enough to make me public enemy number 1. Anger I’ve been struggling to keep down urges me to lunge at them and really give one of them something to be fucking afraid of. But I shake it off, walking faster. Something in me pulls me to that lunch room, and I just know when I get there I’ll find the four people left on earth capable of making me feel normal. Sure enough, as I burst through the lunch hall doors, the chatter stops, all eyes turn to me, but I immediately lock on my CrestRidge boys. My heart calms a little. They look at me with the same worry I feel, and I have no doubt that Nester has gotten to them as well. Ignoring the rest of the student bo

Fuck, she smelt so good. “You’ve outdone yourself, Rye!” Clarissa shouts over the music. We grind in sync with other couples on the dancefloor. I control her hips, bucking against her ass with my hardened dick. But she’s not the one I want to sink my erection into. Olivia. It doesn’t make sen

“We’re here,” Dillon says brightly. He pushes open my dorm room door, and if I weren’t so tense, I might have admired my new space. There’s a small bed pushed to the wall, a sturdy-looking desk beside it, and a large window overlooking the whole setup. It’s nothing special, but I'm just grateful
