3. Kiss on the Rain

The long-awaited day has arrived. This afternoon, she planned to go with Raine to the little girl's mother. But, it turns out, Logan has been home all day because of diarrhea. 'Double shoot!'

'Get lost, Burger!' Beth thought holding back a laugh.

"Raine, you have the heart to leave Father like this?" asked Logan with a pale face. She doesn't know if the man is really sick or not, his face is really pale... but how come that annoying creature, like him, can get sick?

'He is old in age, but actually spoiled! So this is how this sadistic man behaves when dealing with his daughter? Wow, she could die Logan find out where they are going this afternoon!' thought Beth, she began to reconsider.

Raine glanced at Beth. "Beth ... I think we are not going today ..."  disappointed.

Poor Raine, she must be really looking forward to this day!

"Mr. Logan, there's Mam Runs. So, let us go, your daughter wanna go out, Sir?" She makes the 'Sir' sound so sarcastic.

"I'm not talking to you, Beth." said Logan annoyed. "Honey, just study at home, okay?" Logan pleaded.

She should have recorded this scene, then she can humiliate Logan in front of the other employees! Beth thought, it a shame, her phone was so slow in the battery.

In the end, they didn't leave, but Beth promised Raine to take her to meet her mother some other time.

While Raine was doing the practical questions, Beth's mind wandered. She suddenly wondered what caused Raine's parents to divorce.

When the class was finally over, Beth wanted to say goodbye to Logan, but it turned out that the man was asleep on the couch in front of the TV that was on. For some reason, Beth felt sorry for the man looking weak, unlike the usual Logan. She feels sorry for the man.

Beth decided to go to the nearest convenience store and buy some bottled coconut water, then handed it over to Mam Runs to give to her employer when he wakes up. After that she went home.

***

Tonight, it rained so heavily, making her have to delay her return. She glanced at her watch, it was almost eleven at night. It was stupid because she forgot to bring an umbrella--in this rainy season--she had to stand in front of a locked building where her outlet was located, waiting for the rain to stop.

Then she saw someone who looked like Logan get out of the car. She didn't see it wrong, it was Logan. The man ran to her with his arms covering his body from the heavy rain. Standing tall next to her, the man said, "I think you need a ride home."

Beth blinked a few times, unable to believe her ears.

'What is this man doing in this area? I think the direction from headquarters to Logan's house isn't this way!'

"Don't get me wrong. I finished repairing a computer an outlet near here, then as I was passing by, I saw you. Hmm, let's just say, I did this because you gave me bottled coconut water the other day. So we're even." He said looking at Beth lazily.

Beth was still dumbfounded as she sat beside Logan in the car that was driving to her house in the still pouring rain. In the car, only romantic songs were playing on the radio, while they didn't exchange words, even though many questions were running through Beth's brain.

When the car finally arrived in front of Beth's house, the man took an umbrella from the back seat and gave it to Beth. "You can return it when you are teaching Raine."

Beth smiled stiffly. "Thanks," Beth said still confused.

"No problem."

"W-alright, I ... see you later." Beth's voice sounded nervous.

"Wait a minute," said Logan, holding her back.

"What?"

Suddenly Logan's hands grabbed Beth's face, pulled her closer, then his lips kissed Beth's, making the girl's heart race.

Beth was very surprised, not expecting Logan to kiss her. She tried to bite the man's lips, but this time Logan cleverly dodged. Not giving up, Beth's free hands clawed at Logan's face, making the man groan and release his lips.

Tears welled up in Beth's eyes as she caught her breath. "Fuck!" Beth cursed as she threw the umbrella at Logan, then hurriedly unlocked the door, and dashed through the pouring rain. She continued to run through the rain without looking back.

In all her life, she would never forgive Logan! She didn't want to see that man again! Ever again!
