This is love?

Audrey POV

As Terry reads the new letter my heart beats faster but then he says something I wasn’t expecting- Mark has a dark past? Wait, what? He hands me the papers and I look through them. Did he silence these women? I mean, he can be a little possessive, but I don’t think he would do the things that are written on these pieces of paper.

My face twists in confusion and I reach for my phone, dialing Mark’s number. I look at Terry and Daniel and they look at me, “Audrey…” Daniel begins but Mark answers the phone, “Hey baby.”

“Hey,” I begin but I start to falter. How does one even bring this up? “Are you still picking me up? We need to talk.” Daniel stares at me and shakes his head and I put my hand up.

“Oh, is everything okay? I can come to get you now.”

“Everything is fine, but I got another letter, and you are mentioned in it.”

Silence.

“Oh, well I am coming right now. I have a surprise for you too. I’ll see you soon.”

I can’t help but smile- Mark is so thoughtful, “See you soon.”
