16 Speak The Truth

If only she knew how Derrick fought hard for Hailey to come over to the house, she wouldn't have said such a thing.

However, as it stands now, it has become a must for Hailey to answer Mrs. Dorothy because there was no way out. And for her to be free, she must tell the truth, or else Mrs. Dorothy will keep disturbing her.

Hailey turned her gaze to Derrick. Immediately, they had eye contact. Derrick rapidly took his gaze away from her to avoid her frowning face.

Upon seeing Derrick turning his face away, she faked a smile and then stared at Mrs. Dorothy for a few seconds.

She swallowed hard before she summoned the courage to speak out, even though she was finding it difficult to do so.

“M-mom…” she stammered. “ I don't think I want to marry anytime soon, so I can't say anything about that for now.” she finally confessed with a lopsided grin.
