Chapter nine

The room fell silent and not a single word could be heard. Even the maids, working close by, stood and watched in anticipation.

Madison was shocked by her father’s utterance. She? Have a personal guard? What a joke! She thought to herself, as she stared at her father in the eyes, expecting him to tell her that he was only trying to pull her legs, but alas, he did not say a word but kept staring back at her.

“You are kidding, right?" She asked, breaking the silence. She couldn’t believe it! He was actually serious about her having a personal guard.

She couldn’t help but look to stare at the young man, that was the cause of the pain she was feeling at the moment. As she watched him, staring back into her eyes, she began to hate him.

Why her? Why was every bad thing, happening to her? She wondered, as her eyes locked onto his.

Suddenly, she had a feeling of Déjà vu. Those eyes…She thought to herself, as she wondered where she had met him before. Even his hair looked quite familiar.

She knew she had once seen eyes, as cold as his. Eyes that were able to make one's legs, turn to jelly. Eyes that were able to make a brave warrior, become a coward.

“Am I?" Her father replied, pulling her from her train of thoughts. His eyes looked blank and were like two sharp daggers, trying to pierce through her eyes and into her soul.

Those eyes, that brimmed with love were lost and replaced by his usual indifferent look. His words were like gasoline, and they had ignited the burning fury in her.

“And Jackson??”

“What about him?” her father asked her, as if not he had no idea what she was talking about.

“I know you do know what I'm talking about...” Madison said but seeing her father's questioning look, she rolled her eyes in anger. “Dont tell me you sacked him.” she said.

“I let off an incompetent man, who...” Her father said but immediately stopped, as if saying what he had wanted to say, would be a problem, considering how close he was to Madison.

Madison brows creased as she heard what he just said. He was serious after all. Looking towards her mother, she noticed that her mother was fidgeting.

Though she did not like Jackson for always meddling in her business, she still felt really close to him. He had been working for them, since she was a teenager. He would always treat her as a sister and was the only one who seemed to understand her, though he was too overprotective of her.

She had no idea what was going through her head, but one thing is certain. Her mother was definitely going to support her father and just as she predicted, her mother did.

“Madison baby...." Her mother began. “Your father is right, darling. We are only doing the best for you…” she said but was interrupted before she could complete her sentence.

“No! No!!...” Madison yelled angrily. “Don't fucking say my name!—I can't believe you guys!." She responded angrily.

is it a crime to be born into a rich family and have freedom? Wasn’t getting married into the Brian family, a huge punishment? Can’t she just have freedom and be their fucking collateral piece of shit in peace? All these thoughts ran through her head, as she glared at them.

She wanted to scream into their faces and tell them how they suck at parenting. This isn’t love, it’s forced slavery. Even a slave has certain rights and was better off than her.

“Then explain the wound on your neck." Her father said to her and her eyes widened in shock.

How did he know about it? She wondered as her hand moved towards her exposed neck, which revealed the wound that she had tried so hard to hide.

Fuck!! She cursed inwardly, as she realized that truly, her wound was exposed all this while.

“Who did this to you!" Her mother cried out with a gasp as she stood up. She walked towards Madison, who nervously tried to cover the wound again.

“It's nothing, I actually..." Madison wanted to say but her mother did not want to hear of it.

“You can't be fine, Maddie." She said as she held her daughter's hand. “Were you attacked last night? What happened? Did you have an..."

“For fuck sake, I'm fine!" Madison snapped, as she pulled away from her mother. “I'm not a baby anymore. I am a grown-ass woman and I can take care of myself.”

This wasn’t how she had expected it to go. Somehow, she felt like her parents were trying to change the topic, by making her wound, such a big deal.

She wasn’t concerned about the wound, as it wasn’t the reason for her anger. The wound did not find her a bodyguard and tried to make her understand that she was only a puppet, and it certainly did not use her as collateral for a fucking BUSINESS DEAL!!!

“I’ll be in my fucking ROOM!”

Out of frustration, she did not wait for her parents to respond and headed for the stairs. Her loud grunts and curses could be heard as she headed for her room, before the loud sound of a door getting slammed.

Walking into her room, she shuts the door lock and leaned on it. A deep sigh escaped her mouth, as she walked towards the dressing mirror.

She could feel liquid, streaming slowly down her neck, in a straight line. Subconsciously, she wiped her neck and seethed her teeth, from the pain that came next.

Looking at her hand, she could see the red liquid that stained it. She was bleeding and she knew it.

Sitting in front of the mirror, her eyes locked onto a roll of tissue, which she grabbed and dabbed the blood from her neck, slowly and carefully.

A knock resounded on her door, and the sound of the doorknob being twisted in an attempt to open the locked door could be heard.

“Maddie.”

It was her mother’s voice, calling out to her. There was no way, Madison was going to open the door, to get lectured by her mom about the importance of love. She was going to sit here, and do nothing.

“Are you ok, sweetie?” her mother asked from behind the door, but too bad for her, Madison was too annoyed to respond.

Madison stood up from where she sat and headed for the wardrobe. “The fucking first aid box!!” she cursed inwardly, as she searched for the box.

“Maddie!” her mother called out, but once again, she ignored her.

She finally found the first aid box and picked out some things that she needed, she walked towards the dressing mirror and began to treat her wound, amidst the few pain filled-cry that escaped her lips, whenever her finger touched the raw wound.

“Can you go already?” she asked angrily, as her mother’s voice, constantly rang in her ears.

She needed her space, to take everything in and digest it. It was already traumatic for her the previous night, and now, her parents were trying to make it worse for her.

Another sigh escaped her lips, as she heard the sounds of footsteps that moved away from the door. Her hands ran through her hair, as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

Looking at herself now, she realized her terrible she looked. Although she felt energetic, her eyes seemed to give away the signs of exhaustion.

She had bags under her eyes like she haven’t slept for days. She smiled bitterly at her new look and couldn’t help but compare her current look with her grandmother’s.

Suddenly, the question she finds so difficult to explain flashes through her mind. How did her father, hire a bodyguard, during the night?

This was the one question she couldn’t answer, as she knew that she had never seen such a man, around the mansion.

Mr. Allen sat in a bar, lost in thought. His eyes stared at the glass of wine in his hand. He couldn’t believe that his daughter, hid something as grave as this.

Someone was threatening his daughter, and he had no idea who it was. Why and who was trying to kill her? He wondered, as his fist clenched tightly around the paper.

He found the paper lying on the floor, right after his daughter had gone to her room. Dropping the glass on the table, his eyes stared around the bar, like he was expecting someone.

The bar was almost empty, with only a few customers drinking and the stewards working. Just like other expensive and high-class bars, this bar was also quite expensive and could only be afforded by wealthy people.

Inside the bar, Mr. Allen's guards, just stood far behind, staring around. They felt quite intimidating, with their weapons and were dressed in suits.

Even the customers in the bar and some of the workers felt quite uncomfortable with it but couldn't do anything as they; the workers, knew that Mr. Allen was a friend to their boss.

“Mr. Allen. ” a young woman said to him, as she approached him.

She wore glasses and a tight-fit gown, that covered her body. Her hair was a deep brown and her eyes were oceanic blue. She would have been a beauty, had it not been for the scar on her face.

Nevertheless, she was still beautiful and unlike other females, she seemed to be contented with her look, as she did nothing to hide the scar.

“You may follow me,” she said to him with a smile and just as he stood up, his guards walked towards him, startling everyone in the bar.

“Wait for me… you, come along. " He simply said and the guards backed away, while the one he beckoned at, nodded. “Please lead the way. " He said to the young lady, who smiled at him and walked towards an elevator at the far end of the bar.

....

In a massive bedroom, that was illuminated by a bright red light, that enveloped the room, a young woman, dressed in a black silky gown, sat on a chair.

She was entertaining herself, as she watched the three people, a female, and two males, having a threesome, on the bed, right in front of her.

The moans and grunts, that constantly escaped their mouths, filling the room, sounded like music to her ears. Her cleavages were exposed and she smiled at the scene in front of her, while savoring the taste of the drink in her hand.

A guard walked into the room and strolled towards her. He bent and whispered some things in her ear, and she smirked. Then with a wave of her hand, she dismissed him from the room.

“Alright, it's enough now,” she said to the three people, who seemed to be having the best time of their lives, satisfying themselves. She dropped the drink on her table and stood up.

Like obedient dogs, they nodded and quickly walked out of the room. They knew not to offend their boss unless they were ready to face the consequences of such actions.

She walked out of the room, in the company of two guards, and headed into another room.

The room she walked into, looked more like another bar, except that in this bar, there was no one inside.

“Welcome... ” she said with an alluring smile, as soon as she sighted Mr. Allen in the room. “What brings you, tonight? " She asked, and sat back down on her seat.

“Lilith..."
