I stared at him, confused. “What?”

“You heard me, Eloise. I understand if you still have some unresolved feelings for him. I understand, truly, I do, but he isn’t good for you.” He declared loudly. “I know I shouldn’t tell you what to do. You are your own woman and can make your decisions but he isn’t the one for you. All he is going to do is hurt you. I am the one for you, and I cannot allow you make mistakes again. Your last mistakes have cost us so much, so you cannot choose him again.”

ELOISEIn the hours to come, I understood what pain felt like. Lyara might have casted a spell to speed up the healing but I felt the pain in real time. I grew very familiar with all the shapes of pain.Time faded away slowly and I withered in the dungeon. I had cried and now there was no tears left for me. I kept thinking of ways to get out of this. Soon, they would drag me outside again to whip me. I couldn’t remain stuck in this endless circle. There had to be an end to it. Sleep evaded me and whenever it came, it was haunted with nightmares, memories of Lyara and Olpheus, making love. How could he not know who I was? How could he stand beside her and remain oblivious? All my love for him had bled away. All that remained was my rage, swelling heavily in my chest, swallowing me whole until there was nothing left. How could he do this to me? My wolf was long gone, retreated into herself, distorted from the magic and pain. I didn’t call for her. I wanted her to remain in me, where s

LYARAWarmth spread through my belly as I looked around at the life that was now mine. This was mine. I deserved this. I worked hard for this. Eloise was a pest that needed to be removed and now that she is gone, I can finally enjoy my hardwork. Olpheus had his arms wrapped around me firmly as he led me back inside the castle – my castle, my home. He didn’t know the magic I was weilding and I made sure he wouldn’t be able to find out for a while. He wouldn’t catch me offguard this time. “Go to your room, my love. The maids are at your disposal. I have somethings to handle.” He said, his hand on my lower back making me shiver. Somethings to handle? Was he going to her?“Where are you going?” I asked in a sharp tone and remembered myself, so I did my best to sound as soft and nauseating as my sister. “Why don’t you stay with me, or better yet, I come with you?”He shook his head and pressed his lips to my cheeks. “I will be right back and you do not have to worry about your sister’s

Screams ripped from my throat as they dragged me out. My legs slammed against the ground but they didn’t stop. They carried me as if I was a sack of flour, and pulled me out. Nothing made them stop, no begging, screaming or yelling worked.“You have to believe me!” I sobbed as they dragged me to the town square. There had prepared the execution square. Why was I cursed to die again? Why? Why was I bound to this fate? Why couldn’t I escape it?“OLPHEUS!” I screamed with every strength in me.He looked at me, and something flickered in his eyes, but it was gone immediately she touched him.He looked away from me, and focused on her. He held her hands tightly, and smiled at her. The guards pushed me to my knee hard, kicking the air out of my lungs. Tears spilled from my eyes, and I wanted to wipe it away. My heart was broken but the rage in me burned hotter than ember. I wanted to burn the world. I wanted to burn them all. “Will you at least look me in the eyes before you banish me to

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Hurt me

Before I could speak, I heard footsteps, strong and domineering. My stomach sank as Olpheus walked in and stood in front of my cell. I was on my knees, covered in dirt, and wearing Lyara’s face.He turned to her, and I waited for him to see through her magic, her disguise. He didn’t. His face softened, and he frowned, “What are you doing here, Eloise? You shouldn’t be here. This witch has caused you so much grief, and you should be in bed, where you can be protected.”“No.” I shook my head, terror climbing to my throat.Lyara touched his cheeks and smiled at him. “I know, and I am sorry I came here behind your back, but I wanted to see her one last time before … you know.”He nodded stiffly. “Your soft heart is your most endearing features but you shoudln’t be here. It is going to get messy, and a bit bloody. The villagers have gathered to watch the execution.” “Execution?” Her eyes widened slightly, and he frowned, “We have been over this already –”“She is lying, Olpheus!” I scream

The stench in the dungeon was unbearable. I scrunched my nose as I followed Nolan deeper into it. Goosebumps broke over my skin, and I hated every minute. I wanted to turn back and forget about her. Who cared if she died? I did, apparantly. I cared if she died. My kind heart would be the death of me. “You have to be quick.” Nolan whispered, urging me forward. “The guards are on their shift again, so we have a very short window. Be quick, Eloise. I’ll be waiting here for you.” “Thank you so much.” I hugged him tightly before running down the dark hallways. There was no one else there. I came to a stop in front of her cage. My chest caved in at her sight. She was dirty, a huge mess, still wearing what she had on the last time I saw her. This was my sister and I would fight for her. I would do whatever I needed to keep her alive. She looked up slowly, pushing her hair off her face. “Eloise?” She whispered, voice sounding small, childlike.I took a step forward, guilt nibbling in my

I looked around and saw the guards waiting closer, watching me carefully. “Where is Nolan’s room?” I asked the one closest to me. He frowned at me, adjusted his helmet, and said. “I can take you there, ma’am, or better still, I can bring him out here for you to speak to.” “Oh, that won’t be necessary. I only need to speak to him about something quickly. Can you direct me to his quarters?” I insisted, keeping a calm smile on my face. I was about to rescue my sister from the clutches of Olpheus, I was about to go against their King. It was better for me to suffer the consequences alone when push came to shove. I wasn’t ready to drag anyone down with me, well … except Nolan, I guess, but strangely enough, he was the only one I could trust about this. He must have meant something to me in my past life, for me to trust him this much. I was eager to fully remember my past life, but for now, I would settle for what I had remembered. The guards begrudgingly directed me to Nollan’s quarte
