You feel it, don’t you? Ryan’s father asked, his eyes fixed on him. Ryan frowned as a strange warmth spread through his chest. His heartbeat had changed. It was no longer racing from fear. Something inside him was becoming alert, almost eager. His wolf was awake in a way Ryan had never experienced before. What am I supposed to feel? Ryan asked. His father studied him carefully. The forest. Ryan looked toward the dark trees. What about it? Your wolf recognizes it.

Ryan stared at him in confusion. I’ve never been here before. His father shook his head. Not this place. What lies beyond it. Before Ryan could ask another question, another howl echoed through the trees. This time, it was followed by several others. Betty stepped closer to Ryan, her body tense. They are surrounding us. Ryan looked around. His father’s expression remained calm, but his eyes were scanning the darkness carefully. How many? Ryan asked. At least eight, Betty answered. Maybe more.

His father nodded. Good. Ryan stared at him. Good? You brought us into a trap. His father looked at him. No. I brought them into ours. Ryan barely had time to understand what he meant before a figure suddenly moved between the trees. Then another appeared behind them. Within seconds, wolves emerged from the darkness, surrounding the road. Their eyes glowed beneath the moonlight, and their bodies were tense, ready to attack.

Betty shifted her weight and prepared herself. Ryan’s father stepped forward. Nobody moves. One of the wolves growled. Where is the boy? Ryan’s father remained silent. The wolf took another step forward. We know he’s here. Ryan felt his wolf pushing against his skin. Let me out, it whispered. Ryan clenched his fists. Not yet.

The wolf leader suddenly sniffed the air. His expression changed. He knows. Another wolf moved closer. The silver blood is awake. Ryan’s heart stopped. His father immediately turned toward him. Don’t listen to them. But Ryan had already heard. Silver blood. Those words had been buried somewhere inside his memories. His father had warned him never to reveal his blood. His entire life had been built around hiding it.

Betty looked at Ryan. What does he mean by silver blood? Ryan didn’t answer. His father stepped between them. This isn’t the time. Betty’s eyes narrowed. You keep saying that. I deserve to know what is happening. Ryan finally looked at her. So do I.

His father stared at him for a long moment. Then he sighed. The Silver Bloodline was one of the oldest werewolf bloodlines in existence. Ryan listened carefully as his father continued. Your ancestors were not ordinary wolves. They could command other wolves without forcing them. Their blood carried an ability that made even Alphas submit. That was why they were feared. Ryan’s face tightened. And my family? His father looked toward the hunters. They wanted your blood.

A sudden growl came from behind them. Ryan turned. One of the hunters had moved closer to Betty. Before Ryan could think, his body moved. He crossed the distance between them in a heartbeat and grabbed the wolf by the throat.

Everyone froze.

Ryan stared at his own hand. He hadn’t shifted. Yet his strength was impossible. The hunter struggled against him, but Ryan barely moved. His father’s expression changed. Ryan, let him go.

Ryan looked at the wolf beneath his hand. Something dark was rising inside him. His wolf was no longer whispering. It was commanding. Kneel.

Ryan’s eyes flashed silver.

The hunter suddenly dropped to his knees.

The other wolves stepped backward.

Betty stared at Ryan in shock.

Ryan released the hunter and stumbled backward, staring at his hands. What did I just do?

His father looked at him with a mixture of fear and pride. You finally awakened.

Ryan shook his head. I didn’t do anything.

You commanded him.

Ryan’s breathing became heavier. He looked around at the wolves who were now staring at him with fear. His wolf growled inside his mind. They know us now.

Then the leader of the hunters suddenly smiled. Ryan’s father stiffened. What?

The leader looked directly at Ryan. We weren’t sent here to kill you.

Ryan’s eyes narrowed. Then why are you here?

The wolf’s smile widened. To take you home.

Ryan’s father immediately shifted. Bones cracked. Fur covered his body as his wolf emerged, massive and powerful beneath the moonlight.

Betty gasped.

Ryan stared at him.

His father looked back at him for one final second. Run.

But this time Ryan didn’t obey.

He stepped forward. No.

His father growled. Ryan, run!

Ryan’s eyes began glowing silver again. I’m done running.

The hunters charged.

Betty shifted beside him.

Ryan felt his wolf rise completely. For six years, he had been afraid of what lived inside him. Tonight, for the first time, he wasn’t afraid anymore.

His wolf spoke clearly. Let them learn who they came for.

Ryan smiled faintly.

Then he charged.

Ryan couldn’t move. The stranger stood only a few feet away, his silver eyes shining beneath the dim streetlight. For six years, Ryan had dreamed about those eyes. He had seen them in nightmares, in memories, and sometimes when he closed his eyes at night. But nightmares were easier to accept. This was real. His father was standing in front of him. Alive. Ryan’s chest tightened as his fingers curled into fists. Every part of him wanted to run, yet his legs refused to obey. Beside him, Betty glanced between Ryan and the stranger. Ryan, you know him, she whispered. Ryan swallowed hard. No. The stranger’s faint smile disappeared. You still lie when you’re afraid. Ryan’s heart dropped. That voice. He remembered it. A younger Ryan sitting beside a fireplace while his father taught him how to control his wolf. Never let your fear control you. Never show them your eyes. And whatever happens, Ryan, never reveal your blood. Ryan’s breathing became heavier as he stared at the man standing bef

Ryan had spent six years trying to forget that night, but the moment that familiar scent reached him, every buried memory came rushing back at once. The burning house, the screams, the blood covering the snow, and those same cold eyes watching him from the darkness flashed through his mind so vividly that his chest tightened. His breathing became uneven as he stumbled backward, one hand pressing against his temple while he fought to push the memories away. Ryan, Betty called, reaching for his arm, but he instinctively pulled away, his body tensing. Don’t touch me. The sharpness in his voice made Betty freeze, her hand hovering in the air as she stared at him, concern replacing the confusion in her eyes.Who was that? she asked, lowering her hand slowly. Ryan kept staring into the forest, his heartbeat pounding against his ribs. I don’t know. Betty frowned because she knew he was lying. She had known him long enough to recognize when his silence meant something more than he was willing

Ryan had already prepared himself for rejection, but knowing it was coming didn’t make hearing the words any easier. He sat alone on the wooden bench outside Silvercrest High, his elbows resting against his knees as he stared at the empty courtyard. Most of the students had already gone home, leaving behind scattered leaves and the distant sound of traffic beyond the school gates. The golden rays of the setting sun stretched across the pavement, casting long shadows beneath the towering trees, while a cool evening breeze brushed against his face. Every few seconds, Ryan’s eyes drifted toward the entrance, silently hoping Betty would appear with a smile and tell him everything had worked out. Deep down, however, he already knew that wouldn’t happen. Jackson had looked at him with distrust from the moment they met, and Ryan couldn’t understand why today would be any different. His fingers tightened around the edge of the bench when hurried footsteps suddenly echoed across the courtyard

Chapter One: The Boy Everyone Should FearThe first rule Ryan had made for himself was simple: never let them see the wolf. Unfortunately, Bryan had just decided to break that rule. Why are you always alone? The question sliced through the noisy hallway, followed by a wave of laughter and curious whispers. Ryan stopped mid-step, his fingers tightening around the strap of his backpack as he stared at the floor for a moment. Not again. He slowly turned around, his gray eyes settling on Bryan, who stood several feet behind him with a smug grin spread across his face. His hands were buried casually inside the pockets of his uniform trousers, while William and Jackson stood on either side of him, wearing identical expressions of amusement. They looked like three predators who had finally cornered something they had been hunting all week.I asked you a question, Bryan called out, taking another step closer. Or are you too important to answer ordinary people? A few students nearby snickered,
