Several years ago…

"Catherine!"

I hear my mother calling me out from inside the pack house. She rushed out in search for me but I made sure to hide myself from clear sight to sneak back into my room. Giggling softly, I threw one last look at my mother's back and ran forward without checking whether there was someone meeting me in the way. I was about to rush towards the stairs when suddenly, I was hit by a big wall of muscle. I tumbled and fell, bumping my butt hard on the ground as I tried to avoid the impact.

"Goddess! Can you look where you're going?"

I looked up, and instantly regretted it.

My father, Alpha Daniel, looked down on me with obvious curiosity in his eyes. I laughed and stood up immediately from the ground.

"Can you say that again, Catherine?"

Alpha Daniel spoke softly so as to avoid the assumption of him intimidating me, his own daughter.
