10. A Deal Was Sealed

After Denise got to her house (if you would call that shack that), she put water in the one basin she owned and went to the shared bathroom outside her house. She had to lock her house first because she didn't want anyone to get to her house and maybe take the little she had. That's how little faith she had in humanity and she had every justification to think that.

She slept with a smile on her face as she remembered the girl she saved and that the following day would be the auditions. She didn't have an eventful night, obviously, and she slept soundly until the time she normally woke up. Anyway, in this place there was no chance of oversleeping because people woke up as early as four to open their small businesses and others to go looking for work. That meant that the noise itself would wake someone up if your problems didn't.

She got ready for the day. The auditions would start at ten but she preferred to be early because the last thing she needed was to be late and annoy the judges
