Alex released his hand from her mouth as soon as she promised not to scream. "How did you get into my room? How the heck did you even know where I live?" she whispered angrily.
"Sorry," I said, running my hands through my hair. I moved backward and sat on her bed, never averting my gaze from her. I watched as she dropped her bag. She still looked beautiful, just as before, but now she had brown hair and brown eyes. God, I had missed her so much."What do you want from me, Alex?" she asked, rolling her hair up into a messy bun."I just want to get to know you better," I replied with a smile. She shot me a confused look. "I know you don't know me and probably don't have any feelings for me, but I want that to change. I want us to get to know each other.""Like friends?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.I laughed and stood up. "Not friends, Ava. I want to be more than a friend to you. I want to take care of you, to love you." I moved closer to her, whispering the last part. "Marry you.""Marry me?" she mumbled, clearly surprised."Yes, but how can I marry you when you won't stop running away from me?" I asked, smiling as I watched her face redden. "What do you say? Can I take you out on a date tomorrow?""I have work, but if you can wait until 8 pm, then maybe I'll think about it," she replied."Really?" I asked, genuinely surprised."I said I'll think about it..." Before she could finish her sentence, I lifted her and spun her around. "Alex!""Thank you so much, Ava," I said, gently setting her back down. I kissed her cheek. "I love you, I love you so much." With that, I wrote my phone number on a piece of paper for her before jumping out the window and leaving her to rest for the night."How did it go?" Sarah, my assistant, asked the moment her eyes landed on me."What do you think, Sarah? Of course, it went well," I replied."Have you mentioned her past to her?" she inquired."Not yet. I don't feel the need to do that right now. I don't want her to feel like she must fall for me. I want to take things slow with her," I explained."Alright, boss. Anything you say, boss," she said obediently. The next morning, Ava arrived in the assembly hall with a big smile on her face. The joy radiating from her was indescribable. No scolding from Damon today, and hopefully, I wouldn't have to see his face either because I would clean his room before he arrived.Damon walked in, dressed in his black army uniform. I couldn't help but notice that black was his favorite color. His hair, eyes, and most of his clothes were black, just like his heart. The devil, I thought to myself as I stared at him.He said nothing, just stood there staring at me. Why is he looking at me? Why am I standing in the front row? Oh, I know. I want to prove to Damon that I can do things perfectly. And if I'm being sincere, I like it when he calls me a good girl.I had heard that he would just stand there until six, saying nothing, just waiting to see who would be late. Unfortunately, a girl walked into the hall, sweating. She must have been running, but she was late.Averting my gaze back to Damon, he wasn't smiling. He looked expressionless. "Punishment or getting fired," he mumbled. I looked at the girl. She must have heard how he punishes people, but still, she chose "punishment." I remembered what Rose had said - the money helps a lot of people, and that's why they were still here."Go to the punishment room," Damon commanded."Yes, master," she bowed, fear visible on her face. But right now, I was left wondering if I was the only one he called a good girl, bad girl, and silly girl. And for some reason, I didn't want him calling other girls that. "Assembly dismissed," Damon smiled. "Ava, come here." All the maids gave me a sorry look, and I felt sorry for myself too.Moving toward his direction, I stopped one inch away from him. But he still used his finger to command me to step closer, which I did. I could feel his breath on my skin as he leaned close. "You came early. What a good girl you are. And good girls get rewarded, don't they?" He lifted my chin so that I could look at him. Blushing, I nodded, which made him smile. "Tell me what your schedule is today.""Um, feed the master's pet, take care of the flowers in the garden, and clean your room," I replied."Hmm," he stepped back, giving me some breathing space. "I will be going to the barracks, and when I return, we will talk." And with that, he walked away. Did he just call me over to tell me that? This man is unpredictable and confusing.Moving to the pets' cage, I didn't waste much time in feeding them. They looked happy the moment I approached them, but it sent a shiver down my spine, thinking about what they might do to me one day. "Not going to happen, beasts," I growled, giving them my middle finger before moving to the garden and watering the flowers. Looking around, I smiled at how beautiful this place was.But then, I heard murmurs and turned around to see the girl who arrived late. Her body was bleeding, her eyes swollen, her mouth swollen. Bruises covered her body, and she could barely walk. My gaze shifted to the gate, where Damon was cleaning his bloody hands with a handkerchief before stepping into his limo.He is a devil. He doesn't have a heart."Why isn't anybody helping her?" I asked Rose. She smiled, but I could sense her sadness. "We're not allowed to involve ourselves in someone else's punishment, or else we will get punished ourselves.""I'm going to help her," I proclaimed."Ava, don't," Rose pleaded, shaking her head. "What is done is done. Get back to work. She wouldn't want you to get punished because of her.""I can't believe he treats humans like this, especially women," I growled, my blood boiling. "Someone needs to talk some sense into him." Rose remained silent, and an eerie quiet filled the air. "He can't behave like he owns everyone. Who does he think he is?""Who are you talking about?" a male voice interrupted."I'm talking about Damo..."I froze, realizing that it was Damon who had asked the question. I stopped talking and then turned around to find Damon staring down at me. He wasn't smiling or frowning. Now I understood why Rose and the others had fallen silent. Gosh, just kill me now.Ava remained still, her thoughts consumed by who would attend her funeral. Her mother and brother would be devastated. I hadn't even received my salary before I died, and it was only my second day here. Why did I always end up in so much trouble? It sickened and annoyed me. "Ava," he finally said something, commanding me to lift my head. I obeyed and watched as he tilted his head to the left. "Get back to work!" he growled. Everyone turned their gaze away and continued with their tasks."Master, I...""Shh," he interrupted. He wasn't smiling or frowning. How was I supposed to know what was going on in that thick head of his? I thought he was leaving, so why did he turn back? "I will continue this little chat later. I have something more important to attend to," he said before mumbling something under his breath. "After cleaning my room, I want you to kneel and wait until I return. If you even think of disobeying me, I will know." And with that, he left.Watching him walk away, I practi
Ava rushed home for two reasons: a date and something she couldn't quite figure out. The question was nagging at her. Why was she so anxious about this date? Feeling a mix of enthusiasm, joy, excitement, and confusion, all for one guy—Alex.Does that mean I like him? We've only talked once, so how is that even possible?Maybe it's those captivating red eyes of his, the charm that draws women close to him. "Mother," I mumbled as I dropped my bag in the living room and headed to the kitchen, kissing her cheek. "I'm home.""How was work today?" she asked, still chopping onions."It was awesome, just like always," I replied, unable to share the fact that I was spanked. "You didn't go to work today?" I asked, noticing her shake her head."You see, my child," she smiled, pulling a chair out and sitting down. "I got fired. The boss wanted to spend the night with me, but I couldn't bring myself to do it." I watched as my mother explained the situation. "And now I'm feeling like I made the wron
Ava watched as Alex withdrew, a hint of confusion in his eyes and his lips seemingly ready to speak. Not wanting to leave him hanging, I spoke up first. "I'm sorry, it's not that I don't like you, but I barely know you. I only know your name and where you work," I mumbled, feeling slightly guilty for rejecting his advance. Observing him as he returned to his seat and ran a hand through his wavy brown hair, I couldn't help but notice that we both shared the same hair color. However, I quickly dismissed any significance that might hold.Understanding flickered across Alex's face as he smiled gently. "I understand, Ava. I was getting ahead of myself. This is our first date; I shouldn't have been thinking that way," he responded. "Go ahead. Ask me anything you want to know."His willingness to open up surprised me, leaving me wondering why he wanted me to know him better. Was he hoping to forge a deeper connection? Curiosity piqued, and I decided to delve into something that caught my atte
Ava just remained still and watched him from behind, he said nothing to me, just continued with his call and I was left to finish up my work, starting with the balcony, bathroom, and bedroom and now am left clueless, if am to leave or wait for him. I can't help but think about what he'll do to me.Though I need that money. " master am I..." Before I could complete my sentence he lifted his hand, shutting me up instantly, he said nothing after that, the conference call seemed to be over but he was typing things down.Remaining still I didn't move, just stood and stared at his back, my body started to ache, head dizzy, I felt so stressed and I knew I needed to rest my head and body somewhere and since he was paying no attention to me I move to his bed and lay on it.It felt like falling into pure heaven, so soft and comfortable, I could practically sleep here all day... closing my eyes it didn't take me up to five minutes to sleep off, it was nice but the dream that followed wasn't.~~~
Ava watched as he moved to the drawer and pulled out a cheque, handing it over to her. "Do you need more, Ava?" he smiled. "I can give you any amount you want, and you know that, right?""It's okay, this is enough," she replied, mustering a polite smile. But as she turned around to leave, he took hold of her hand, preventing her from moving any further. She swallowed nervously, closing her eyes. "Ava, do you need me to teach you how to say thank you?" he asked, his tone tinged with anger. Turning to meet his gaze, Ava noticed his raised eyebrow. Thank you. It's not like it's free, is it?"Thank you, Master," she said, faking a smile to appease him. He let go of her hand and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. She couldn't help but wonder why he seemed frustrated when it should be her feeling that way. "You can go now, Ava. See you tomorrow," he said, reminding her that tomorrow was Sunday. "And then you will do anything I ask you to," he added, leaving her frozen in place,
Ava instinctively pulled back the moment he whispered those words to her. She could feel her cheeks burning with embarrassment. "I do like it when you blush, Ava. I do," he mumbled while grabbing his jacket and then held my hand. "Come, we are going out.""Huh? Out?""Yes, out," he said, dragging me out of the house. He gave Lady Martha some instructions and picked up a phone call that made him frown. "I will deal with that. I'm on my way," he muttered before moving towards his limousine. I stepped in, and he followed, shutting the door. "Take us to the casino," he instructed the driver, who nodded and lowered the little window that connected them both.If I heard correctly, he said casino. The place where people gamble and engage in other sorts of illegal activities. "Casino?" I looked at him, noticing his eyes closed as he relaxed. "Why are we going there? Are you planning on selling me?" The question made him open his eyes and chuckle, though it didn't reach his eyes, giving it a fa
She just kept looking at me, almost as if she hadn't witnessed me kill someone. I couldn't help but find her behavior rather amusing, despite the gravity of the situation. As she continued staring at the last man alive, I took the shot and ended his life with a single bullet to the head. She flinched ever so slightly before looking up at me. "Master?" she began, her voice trembling. I raised an eyebrow, silently urging her to speak. "My dress has been stained," she said, a hint of concern in her voice.I couldn't help but smile at her comment. "You don't feel sympathy for these humans, do you?" I asked, curious to understand her perspective."I believe they hurt you," she mumbled, her words filled with a mix of empathy and resignation. "Even if I did feel sympathy, you would still kill them. It would be a waste of emotions, wouldn't it? So it's not necessary."Her calm response surprised me. "You didn't freak out at the sight of dead bodies," I remarked, genuinely intrigued by her lack
Ava kept her eyes on him, puzzled as he smiled at her after calling her cunning. Why was he smiling? She had no idea, but at least he seemed to have come to terms with her proposal. Both her brother and she had always dreamed of going to Wonderland, but money had always been a constraint, preventing them from fulfilling that dream. "Come on, Ava, let's head back. It's getting late," Damon mumbled before turning around and walking away. She had to quicken her pace to catch up with him."Are you going to drop me off at home?" she asked, but he said nothing, just kept moving. "Master?" she called out. He stopped, and she noticed a frown creeping onto his face."Something is not right," he mumbled, but Ava was growing anxious and moved a bit ahead. Gasping, she caught sight of their driver lying lifeless, his legs, hands, eyes, and ears missing. The car was badly crushed."Come," Damon grabbed her hand and pulled her back into the forest."What happened to him?" she asked, her voice tremb
