Jenn’s POV

I stood outside Morgan’s door, the small tray of medications growing warm in my hands.

I’d given them five minutes. Then ten. Now it was nearly twenty, and I could still hear their voices through the wood – low, strained, carrying the weight of months of lies and manipulation, regrets and had I known and the ruins of a marriage that should have lasted a lifetime.

I shouldn’t have been listening. I knew that.

This was private – a conversation that needed to happen between the two

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    Family

Jenn’s POV Liam caught my face in his hands and tilted my head back until he was staring into my eyes. Whatever he saw there – the exhaustion, the grief, the thousand tiny fractures I was barely holding together – made his mouth harden even more. He leaned forward just a little, his body shielding us both from everyone else’s view as he murmured to me quietly, “Go home and get some rest. I’ll take care of this. Stay with Alva and just leave it to me to handle.” “Jenn?” Alice’s voice came from behind me, trembling a little. Even though it hurt me, I finally turned to look at her through the glass of the holding cell. She was standing now, her hands pressed against the cold surface, her dark eyes wide and terrified. She looked broken. The words tumbled out of me as I pressed my own palm against the glass, mirroring hers. “I’ll be back, Alice. Just… just tell them everything. Whatever they’re holding over you, whatever Selene has on you, we’ll figure it out. We’ll figure it out toge

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    The Arrest

Jenn’s POV I was halfway to the new bedroom Vicktor assigned to Morgan when I saw Mira running toward me. Her white coat flapped behind her and her dark hair came loose from its bun and her face – when she got close enough for me to see it – was tight with something that looked a lot like panic. I stopped, my own face scrunching up in confusion. Panic welled up inside me as she neared, my heart dropped into my stomach. “Alpha Jenn.” She skidded to a stop in front of me, her chest heaving. “It’s Morgan. She’s gone into early labor. We’ve moved her to the infirmary. The head matron is with her now, but I thought you should know –” “I’m coming.” The words were out before she could finish. I was already moving, my hand pressed against my own protruding stomach “How far apart are the contractions?” I asked as Mira fell in step beside me. “Three minutes. She’s progressing faster than we expected.” Faster than we expected. Which meant complications. Which meant danger. Which meant Mor

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    He’s In Trouble

Jenn’s POV I was brushing my teeth when Liam’s voice cut through my bond we shared. “Luke’s back. Can you meet me in Vicktor’s study?” His tone – clipped and urgent, stripped of his usual warmth – sent a chill down my spine. I rinsed my mouth, threw on a sweater, and hurried through the darkened hallways of Vicktor’s estate. The halls were quiet at this hour, most of the household already retired for the night. Alice had gone to her guest room an hour ago, pleading exhaustion from the journey. Alva had followed shortly after, shooting me a look that said we’ll talk tomorrow. I’d been grateful for the reprieve. Grateful to stop performing, to stop smiling, to stop pretending my sister wasn’t a traitor. Now, as I pushed open the door to Vicktor’s study, I found Liam standing behind the desk, his jaw tight and his blue eyes hard. Luke sat in one of the chairs across from him, still in his Tacgear, his face pale and streaked with dirt. His hands were clasped between his knees, and

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    The Performance

Jenn’s POV My chest was on fire. My lungs were screaming for air and my heart was thumping inside my rib cage at a frenzied pace, but I couldn’t force any semblance of calm into myself as I sat across from Alice, her warm brown eyes crinkling with laughter at something Alva had said before she’d been pulled away. I couldn’t look at my sister right now – not really look at her – not with the image of her red-rimmed eyes and trembling voice still burning into my brain. The footage Liam had shown me played on a loop behind my eyelids every time I blinked. “Jenn still hasn’t returned to the pack territory. She’s still at Vicktor’s estate. The pregnancy is progressing – she mentioned she only has a few weeks left before delivery.” Her voice had cracked. She’d pressed a hand to her mouth, her shoulders shaking. And then she’d given them everything. Alice reached over and squeezed my hand, her fingers warm and familiar. “You’re quiet all of a sudden. Is everything okay?” I forced a smi

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    The Bitter Taste Of Betrayal

Alva’s POV The taste of betrayal is nothing like I imagined. I’d always thought it would be bitter – something sharp and acidic that burned on the way down. But as I stood in Vicktor's study, staring at the frozen image on Liam’s laptop screen, all I felt was a hollow, sickening numbness spreading through my chest like ice water. Alice. Alice. The woman I’d been laughing with not ten minutes ago. The woman who’d hugged Jenn like she was the most precious thing in the world. The woman who’d raised my best friend after her parents died, who became her sister and family. That woman was a spy. Liam’s voice was low and controlled as he walked me through the evidence – the timestamp, the voice analysis, the intercepted transmission. I heard every word, but they seemed to come from very far away, muffled and distorted, like I was underwater. “…routed through the relay points Simon identified. The sender’s location matches the Vale Pack’s communication hub. The time was 2:47 a.m.” I

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    The Evidence

Jenn’s POV I swallowed the lump in my throat and pressed a hand to my lower back, stretching with a theatrical wince. “I’m sorry – the baby’s been kicking all night and my back is killing me. Do you mind if I lie down for a bit? Just an hour or so, and then I’m all yours.” I hated lying to them. I hated having to do any of this but I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to scream, to kick down something. Anything which will ease the sudden tension that seeped into my bones. Alice’s face softened with concern. “Of course. Go rest. We’ll be here when you wake up.” Alva shot me a look – she knew me too well, knew something was off – but she didn’t say anything. Just nodded and turned back to Alice, filling the silence with more questions about the Vale Pack. I walked out of the kitchen at a normal pace, my footsteps unhurried, my posture relaxed. The moment I turned the corner and was out of sight, I ran. Vicktor’s study was dim, the curtains drawn against the afternoon sun. Liam stoo

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    Saving Tristan

Jenn’s POV I stared at my phone, feeling like I was going to be sick. What was I supposed to do? Tristan was an innocent man I’d pulled from the edge of death. I’d brought him into my pack, promised him safety, and now Morgan had him. I didn’t know what connection they had – if any. I only knew t

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    A Threat On His Life

Jenn’s POV My lips parted in surprise. I hadn’t seen Simon make his choice. I’d just assumed he would stay with Wade. “You’re not serious,” Wade growled, the weight of the day finally breaking through his composure. “I am.” Simon released Elayne’s wrist. “I’m sorry, Wade. But you lost your way.

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    Going Our Separate Ways

Jenn’s POV Things were going more or less the way I expected it to go. At that moment, my crowd was much bigger than Wade’s, but that was a given since we were standing on land that had belonged to my father long before the merger. Not everyone was present here, and I knew this was only the begin

  • Bound By Deception:The Alpha’s Betrayal    Home Again

Jenn’s POV The training grounds filled quickly. Word spread through the pack like wildfire – the Luna was back, the Alpha was calling a gathering, something big was happening. By the time I stepped onto the raised platform at the edge of our assembly hall, hundreds of wolves had already gathered.
