Mag-log inThe first time Jenny sees Morgan was when she accompanies Alpha Wade to interrogate war captives in prison. Morgan stands there with blatant arrogance, lacking the fear displayed by the other prisoners, she even looks down on Alpha Wade. She tells him that if he wants to kill or torture her, he can do as he pleases, because she will never yield or surrender. Although Alpha Wade outwardly pressures Morgan to submit, Jenny immediately notices that something is different that he has already developed sympathy toward her. It doesn’t take long before Alpha Wade finds an excuse to keep Morgan by his side. His official explanation is that, as the daughter of an enemy, Morgan will serve as a maid. But everyone around them knows the Alpha cannot bear to let her do any real work. When Jenny learns that her own father was killed by Morgan’s father, she demands an explanation. Yet Alpha Wade in every word and tone, continues to defend Morgan. As time passes, Jenny realizes Alpha Wade’s heart is slowly shifting. .Despite Morgan’s arrogant and reckless behavior, Alpha Wade still sides with her. Eventually, Alpha Wade begins asking Jenny to accept Morgan as another wife of him. Finally unable to endure it any longer, Jenny demands to sever their mate bond. Alpha Wade refuses, but because of Morgan, he has no choice but to accept it. After the bond is broken, the very traits of Morgan that Alpha Wade once admired begin to feel unbearable, her arrogance could never compare to Jenny’s grace. Also, he discovers that the renowned healer he has been searching for all along is actually Jenny. While she had been right beside him, he never saw her worth. Now, he begins his journey of winning her back.

Alpha Wade announced his new fated over breakfast, and the pack watched me die on my feet. My chosen mate – the man who claimed my heart and my bond – smiled at a criminal and called her his destiny. If I hadn’t been sitting, I might have collapsed. The dining hall fell so silent that even the chilly breeze seemed to pause. The scent of eggs and spiced broth turned my stomach. Everyone froze, as all eyes in the hall turned to stare at him, then me. But all I saw was Wade – my husband and Alpha – unable to meet my eyes. He stood at the head of the long dining table, fingers tight around the chair he hadn’t dared sit in. His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. “Jenn… I know this might appear unusual. But this is the best I can do for myself, and her.” I didn’t move. Couldn’t. “Say it again,” I whispered, my voice steady only because the Luna in me refused to crack. “Repeat what you just said.” Wade flinched. The Alpha – my Alpha – flinched. “I found my fated,” he murmured, the words sounding like they hurt to speak. “I don’t know how. But I found her.” My heart broke, but I forced the words out. “And who is she?” Before he could answer, every head in the hall jerked toward the large double entrance doors to the dining hall. And she walked in. Morgan Wilton. If I was dying before, this time I felt like a living corpse. My heart shattered to a million pieces. This was her? His fated mate? I clenched my fist, steeling my already fraying nerves. Her hands were still red‑marked from the silver cuffs she’d worn just days ago. Cuffs Wade himself had locked after she attacked him during a border breach. An enemy spy. A threat. A criminal. And now… his fated. She looked nothing like a prisoner today. Her chin was lifted, eyes bright with a dangerous fire. And she moved with a confidence that felt a lot like mockery. “Good morning,” she said with a smirk, coming to stand beside Wade. “You started without me.” I gasped. When did their relationship evolve to this level? My pulse was hammered. “You shouldn’t be out of the cells,” I said before I could stop myself. “What are you doing here?” Morgan smirked. “Alpha Wade disagreed. He invited me to dinner. You can ask him that question yourself.” I turned to my husband – the man I trusted, the man who once swore on his life that nothing could tear us apart. He stepped towards her, instinctively shielding her from the hostility that was probably radiating from me. That hurt more than his announcement. He raised his hands. “Jenn, please remain calm. This situation is… complicated.” I let out a humorless laugh. “Complicated,” I echoed. “She attacked you, Wade. You imprisoned her. And now she’s in our dining hall claiming a place at your side. Wade, in case you haven’t noticed, she’s our prisoner.” Morgan shrugged. “The Goddess is indeed mysterious.” She glanced at him, bold and unafraid. “Isn’t she?” Wade’s jaw clenched, but he answered anyway. “Yes, you’re right. If she paired me with my enemy’s daughter, then she must have her reason for it. I can’t fight the bond. I can’t fight my destiny” I rose to my feet and stepped forward, refusing to be small. “Your destiny?” I almost laughed. “Are you mocking me? You can bring her into the pack if you must,” I said. “But she will not live in this house. She cannot. I will not accept it.” Gasps filled the room, but I didn’t care. Luna or not, wife or not, I had earned my place here with blood and loyalty. Wade looked torn in half – his wolf pacing behind his eyes, his shoulders trembling with restraint. “Jenn…” He lowered his voice, almost pleading. “Please understand. I didn’t ask for this.” “Neither did I,” I whispered. Morgan crossed her arms and sneered. “You can’t forbid the fated bond.” “I can forbid you from entering my home,” I snapped. “And I am.” Wade squeezed his eyes shut like the tension physically hurt him. He loved me. I knew that. I felt it in the bond we still shared. But fate had lodged a knife in his chest and twisted. “All she needs is a roof over her head and a place where she can be comfortable.” Wade’s eyes pierced mine pleadingly. “No.” The words came as a shock to both Wade and everyone around us. I had no idea why he decided to make this conversation public, but I couldn’t soften the blow any more than I could quench the uneasiness in my heart. “Jenn, what do you mean no? My wolf…” “Your wolf will be just fine,” I said matter-of-factly. “We’ll find a good pack for her since you now feel like you owe her something after she almost killed you, but she will not stay here. You have to reject her. That’s the best you can do for yourself.” “Jenn,” Wade said in his serious Alpha voice, stepping back to the girl’s side protectively even if it was evident that she didn’t need his protection. “Think about this. I wouldn’t ask this if it wasn’t the only choice I have. I am the leader of our pack and my wolf is going crazy for our mate. We can’t risk…” “I can’t risk your life, Wade.” I said, cutting him off. Somewhere along the line, I’d forgotten to address him with his Alpha title as I always did when we were in the presence of company, but that didn’t matter. “This woman is our enemy. She tried to kill you! I’m sure rejecting your fated won’t be easy, but it’s what you must do. We have no idea what other tricks she has up her sleeve.” Wade’s face twitched, his eyes darkening as he mulled over my words. I was right, he knew it in the depths of his heart. Stepping closer, I took his hand. “Think about what’s best for the pack. This woman isn’t. She may be your fated mate, but she’s also the daughter of your enemy.” Wade nodded, his eyes dropped as he turned to face Morgan behind him, “Morgan”, he began. “I am sorry but I would have to reject you, I Alpha Wade Blackstrand of the Moonlit Pack rejects you Morgan…” Morgan stepped forward, grabbing his arm and turning him to face her. “You can’t reject me.” she hissed. “You won’t do that. This woman is just your chosen mate, I am your fated and rejecting me will affect my wolf and yours. Do you want that?” Seeing that Wade still looked torn, she continued. “I can help you with intel about my father. Think about it, I will be a great asset to you and your pack.” Turning to me, she smirked as if this was a challenge and she knew she was winning. Well, she wasn’t far from the truth. Wade was already leaning towards her. I could feel his hesitation thrumming in our bond. I knew immediately that I needed to do something. “You chose me, Wade.” I said. “Think of what you said to me five years ago. The promise you made me.” “STOP,” Wade growled loudly, his eyes glistening light blue, showing his wolf was at the surface, “you are torturing her.”Jenn’s POV A full week had passed since Simon handed me that folded piece of paper and watched my world shrink to four names. Seven days of pretending everything was normal while my mind ran in circles like a caged animal, gnawing at the same questions over and over until they bled into each other. What if it’s Alice? What if it’s not? What if I never know? What if I find out and wish I hadn’t? I slept in fragments now – an hour here, thirty minutes there – snatched between the baby’s restless movements and my own racing thoughts. Liam had stopped trying to coax me into proper rest somewhere around the fourth night, when I snapped at him for hovering and then immediately burst into tears because I didn’t mean it. I was just so tired, so scared, so full of everything I couldn’t say out loud. He’d held me through the crying jag without a word. Just wrapped his arms around my shaking shoulders and let me soak his shirt with tears I’d been holding back for weeks. When I finally quie
Jenn’s POV He was a contradiction. A mess of good intentions and terrible choices. And I had no idea if he was capable of betraying me again. Wade’s eyes narrowed as he studied my face. He’d always been able to read me – sometimes better than I could read myself. It was one of the things that had made our marriage work for as long as it did. And now, watching him piece together my silence and my stiff posture and the distance I’d put between us, I saw the exact moment understanding dawned. “You’re wondering if it’s me.” His voice came out flat, stripped of its earlier warmth. “I’m the spy. You’re standing there trying to figure out if I’m the one who’s been feeding information to the Mad Alpha.” I couldn’t deny it. What was the point? He’d already seen through me. “You were the closest person to me for five years.” My voice matched his – flat and detached, like I was reciting facts from a report instead of talking to the man I’d once promised to love forever. “If anyone had secre
Jenn’s POV A week after Osiris told us there might be a spy in my pack, among my own close friends, I found myself sitting with Morgan. The last person I ever thought I’d go to or talk to about things like this. But for some reason, talking to her felt oddly relaxing. She didn’t interrupt. She didn’t offer empty reassurance or tell me I was being paranoid. She just listened, her sharp eyes fixed on my face, her expression unreadable. And somehow, that was exactly what I needed. Besides, if anyone should know who the spy among my group of friends was, it had to be her. She’d spent months embedded in my life, watching my every move, reporting back to her father. If there was another operative close to me, someone who’d been feeding him information since before I reclaimed my pack, she would know. Still, try as I might, I couldn’t bring myself to ask her that question. Because asking meant acknowledging that it might be true. That one of the people I loved most in this world had be
Jenn’s POV I didn’t sleep that night. Liam had given up trying to coax me into rest somewhere around the third hour of my restless shifting. He lay beside me now with one arm thrown over his eyes and his breathing slow and even, though I could tell from the tension in his shoulders that he wasn’t actually asleep. He was just giving me space to wrestle with my demons in peace. I loved him for that. I loved him for a lot of things. But love didn’t stop the Beta’s words from spinning through my head like a broken record. Hesitant. Someone with something to lose. A secret they wished would never come out. I pressed my palm against my stomach and felt the flutter of movement and leaned into it. Hoping my baby could give me some kind of strength I was lacking. Something – anything – to help me move past this phase. The baby kicked in response, sharp and insistent, and I took it as guidance. The next morning, I found Alva in the kitchen. She was perched on a stool near the window wit
Alva’s POV The council room emptied slowly. The council members filed out in groups, their voices low, each whispering in low voices. Beta Luke was the last to go, his eyes lingering on me for a fraction of a second before he turned away. Just like every time. A glance, then nothing. As if he cou
Jenn’s POV I felt much better the next morning. Maybe because once again, I was waking up on his bed, maybe because of the shiver that ran down my spine at the sight of him. He was stunning under the morning light and if healed whatever was left of both my heart and body. I reached out, running
Jenn’s POV When I woke, pale morning light was filtering through the curtains. Liam was still beside me, propped against the headboard with his eyes closed. He looked younger in sleep – the weight of command temporarily lifted. I shifted, and his eyes opened immediately. “Hey.” His voice was roug
Jenn’s POV I stared at him for a long moment after he finished, unable to believe what I was hearing. Tristan was the fox prince. The same one that had gone missing for a year. Didn’t they say he showed up? If for that whole year he’d been locked up in the mad Alpha’s dungeon and only arrived at m
