Laura's POV:

I awakened and rubbed my eyes, realizing it was already morning based on the rays of light streaming through the window. I turned and noticed Nicholas wasn't beside me. Where could he have gone? That was my initial thought until I heard the sound of water running in the bathroom.

"Oh, he must be taking a bath," I mused, sinking back into bed with my head on the pillow. Memories of everything that transpired yesterday flooded my mind. I pondered how I would have slept without Nicholas by my side. I likely would have been so scared that I would have stayed up all night or even joined Sonia and Mark in their room.

The thought of that made me chuckle. Sonia would probably never allow it. She would prefer sleeping with me rather than having me share a room with her man. She was fiercely protective of him, and I understood why. It's challenging to trust a man who possesses such prowess in bed. Many women would feel insecure if they had such a partner.
