Let Bet, I Find It You Marry Me

Catherine's POV

As darkness enveloped my vision, everything became blurry.

"I will come get you." Those words echoed around the four corners of the earth.

I found myself amid the encroaching darkness, but then a wolf appeared, howling at me, causing the darkness to dissipate.

Dawn had arrived, dispelling the darkness and bringing light to the world.

The sun's rays shone directly into my room, reflecting off the mirror. As the rooster crowed, my dream was interrupted.

I woke up, feeling groggy from sleep.

"Ohh! Mom will leave the house soon," I exclaimed, realizing my mom would soon be departing.

I hurriedly rushed and fortunately caught her before she left.

"Mom... Mom," I shouted, causing her to pause and turn back to face me.

"Ohh... daughter, you're awake," she said, pinching my cheek.

"Mom, when will you be back?" I inquired, as she was a traveler who could be away for days, leaving me bored in her absence.

She was the only person I talked to due to the discrimination and isolation the villagers subjected us to. My mom and I were extraordinarily different from them, with purple eyes, white hair that shimmered like gold, fair skin, and pink lips. This set us apart, leading them to label us as "witches."

However, my mom taught me not to care about their opinions.

"I promise not to be gone long today, and besides, I'm coming home today," she replied, smiling.

"Okay, Mom, I want you to help me get a new battery for my camera," I pleaded, using puppy eyes.

"Oh, stop using your enchanting eyes on me. I will, dear," she responded, touching my cheek before unlocking the door and leaving.

"It's time to start painting and take some pictures," I whispered to myself, running my hand through my hair to push it back.

I entered my room and got dressed, donning a blue gown and accessorizing with a silver necklace and matching earrings.

"I'm so beautiful," I remarked to myself, admiring my reflection in the mirror and getting lost in thought.

I would soon turn eighteen, and there was a village custom that required me to marry someone approved by my parents when reaching that age.

Failure to comply would result in legal consequences. In just two months until my eighteenth birthday, I had yet to encounter any suitors due to their fear of my appearance, believing me to be a witch.

Lost in my thoughts, a gust of wind blew into my room, snapping me back to reality.

I stood up from the mirror, grabbed my painting supplies, and slung my camera around my neck.

"Let's go draw," I said to myself as I exited the house.

I walked out of my compound, adorned with blooming flowers where butterflies fluttered.

As I made my way outside, I was met with various comments and gossip from the villagers, but I paid them no mind, having grown accustomed to their chatter.

I walked towards the mountain and began the climb. Upon reaching the summit, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I took out my camera and captured a shot of the sunlight before setting up my painting supplies to paint the sun.

After a few minutes of drawing, the scorching sun made me feel weak, despite my layered gown offering little respite from the morning heat.

"Puff, I'm done," I muttered as I added the final touches to my drawing.

"Such a beautiful drawing," a voice remarked behind me. I initially ignored it, assuming it was a figment of my imagination, but upon hearing it again, I turned to see a tall man with blonde hair standing behind me.

"Oh, thank you," I replied, turning back to my painting.

"Will you ignore a visitor?" he asked.

"No, um, I'm sorry. What do you want from me?" I responded awkwardly.

He sat down beside me, blocking the sunlight with his hand as he showed me a book.

"Have you seen something like this?" he inquired, showing me the book titled "The Moonlight Exist."

Excitedly, I grabbed the book and examined it. "I love reading werewolf books and am obsessed with moonlight," I exclaimed.

"I do too. I'm fascinated by moonlight as well," he replied wistfully.

"I wish I could embark on an adventure to discover if it truly exists and capture it in pictures or paintings" he lamented, prompting an idea in my mind.

"Why don't we make a bet?" I suggested, smiling.

"A bet about what?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

"I'll search for the moonlight. If it exists, I'll take pictures and paint them," I proposed, sparking his interest.

"How will I repay you?" he inquired eagerly.

"You'll have to marry me," I blurted out, immediately regretting my words out of anxiety.

"Of course, who could resist someone like you?" he replied, touching my hair and inhaling deeply. I felt a blush creeping up, as no man had ever complimented me like that before.

"Deal then. I'll meet you up here tomorrow to confirm if I'll proceed," I said, relieved when he agreed.

I couldn't wait to prove to the villagers that I had a suitor and avoid any legal repercussions. We continued conversing, and I shared my experiences with the villagers.

As evening approached, I bid him goodbye and headed home to prepare a meal for my mom and me.

"See you later," I smiled while telling him as I grabbed the book from him

"I need to go through this," I added before walking away, bidding him farewell.

I smiled walking down the hills gently, "he is cute" I whispered to myself.

I have read a lot of books about werewolf and their amazing moonlight, I never thought I would find someone who has the same interests as me.

I finally got down the hills walking back to the world where whispers and gossip would start about me.

"look at her hair"

"she is a witch"

"she is possessed"

"I bet she won't find any suitor, I can't wait for her to be punished" Those were their words up and down.

How I wish I can pounce on them and deal with them.
