Rhys's POV

The air in the library was thick with impatience when I finally walked in. My brothers were already waiting for me. Blaze stood by the massive mahogany desk, tapping one of his fingers on a closed book. Jax sat quietly in an armchair, but his gaze sharpened the moment I appeared. Milo was at the edge of a display case; he had a small antique compass in his hand, which he was playing with. We had agreed to meet up here after everything, but my earlier deviation had clearly annoyed them, although none of them would say it.

"Where are you coming from?" Blaze's voice cut through the silence, not a question but a demand. "We've been waiting for you, Rhys. The Delta-7 mission is green-lit for deployment in less than two hours and I know we have to start making decisions now."
