Conan's P.O.V

I was at a loss for words to say when I caught sight of Liana pulling the hair of someone who looked familiar but because of the side angle of her face, I couldn't place my head around where I had seen her before.

The security personnel rushed inside while I motioned for them to stop, dispersing them with a hand gesture. Despite everything that had happened, Liana kept staring into my eyes with her mouth slacked open and if I would be honest, I didn't know why she was reacting like that.

I couldn't just wrap my head around it.

I sauntered to her, sweeping the hair that fell on my face to the back while standing before her. All the while, she didn't say anything and kept staring right into my eyes with that same confused expression on her face.

I averted my gaze to the lady standing next to her and watched as her eyes grew wide while she quickly covered her mouth in a bid to suppress the gasp that was about to escape her lips.

Slowly, it dawned on me that the lady standing before me was the same lady who had ridiculed me and shamed me for being poor.

A smirk crept at the corner of my lips as I bobbed my head slowly. "So, we meet again"

Shifting my gaze back to Liana, I heaved a sigh and ran my hands through my hair. "Did you receive what I dropped for you at the Motel? I told you that I had something important to do and I would be back by noon"

Liana blinked her eyes continuously with her mouth slightly agape as she stared at me in utter disbelief, causing me to wonder why she was reacting in that way because, in the real sense, I should be the one who was shocked seeing her there at the moment.

Gradually and slowly, things started to dawn on me and I was starting to realize that she had every right to be surprised because actually, no one knew that I was the boss except for the people who worked inside the company and that is because I decided to keep a low profile on the internet and my assistant and best friend, Logan, has been the face of Ming Company.

"Y-You are the boss of the company?" She stuttered with that surprised look still boldly written on her face."

A faint smile stretched on my lips. "Yes, I am the boss of Ming Company"

She ping-ponged her gaze around as if she was trying to put one and two things together as gasps upon gasps escaped her lips. I chuckled lightly and stood beside her, hanging my hand around her shoulder while fixing my gaze back to the workers who had been starting since.

Keeping a straight expression while cocking my brow to the left. "This is my wife, Liana, and you should accord her with the same respect that you would accord me! "

They all lowered their heads in reverence for both Liana and me and even I could see the glint that depicted surprise in their eyes because everyone knew that she wasn't the lady that I was supposed to get married to, they all knew.

I patted her on the shoulder gently and glanced at Matilda who had insulted me last night. I stared at her pathetically and watched as she gnawed on her fingers before a forced smile.

Her eyes twitched, causing her eyelids to flutter as she opened her mouth widely to say a word.

"B-Brother-In-Law, I think that you misunderstood everything that happened yesterday and I am sorry for the way that I talked to you and I was under the influence of alcohol yesterday. Everyone knows that I am a nice and thoughtful person, my sister knows that well" She said hurriedly as she quickly rushed towards Liana and tried tugging her in the arms but Liana shoved her hands off, causing her to fall butt to the ground.

Matilda stared daggers at her as she mumbled some incoherent words that I couldn't decipher. She fixed her gaze back on me and I was taken aback by the tears that suddenly welled in her eyes, she rubbed her hands together and I was further taken aback because of how the tears cascaded down her cheeks.

She should be a good actress because how did she go from cussing at Liana to now shedding tears?

I was amazed by her as a scoff escaped my lips.

"I know damn well that whatever I said last night was pretty bad. You have every right to be angry and you have every right to be mad at me for treating my sister like that but I was drunk and out of my senses,"

"Even if you ask me, I can't even remember most of the words that I uttered yesterday, please find it in your heart to forgive me and let us work on sharing a good relationship as in-laws" Her lips wobbled while I caught sight of the envelope she was clutching tightly.

I crouched before her and saw how her eyes lit up with hope while she lowered her head further.

I snatched the paper from her hands and flipped through the paper when I noticed that it was the proposal that she had for my company.

"This proposal, you want me to grant your proposal and that is why you are here?" I said in a calm tone.

"You don't have to feel obligated to grant me the proposal since we are family members I don't mean to be disrespectful but since we have now become family members, I think that it is common sense that you should help your family" She gritted her teeth and I could see the desperation in her eyes as my eyes traveled from her face to her clenched fists.

I stood to my feet and chuckled wryly as I rechecked the proposal. She stood up as well and had this glint of optimism in her eyes as I flipped through the pages.

"Betty, get me a light" I yelled at my secretary who scurried away.

Wiping off her tears, Matilda beamed with a smile. "By light do you mean a light pen and do you want to sign on it now?"

I shook my head slowly. "You should be patient, why are you in a haste?"

Matilda smiled and tugged the strands of hair that fell on her face behind her ear. "Thank you for forgiving me, such things would never repeat themselves. I vow to be of good behavior now. She sniffled in her tears"

The secretary, Betty, sauntered to me and handed me what I had asked for.

"You want to approve the proposal?" Matilda’s eyes gleamed with hope as her lips curved in a smile while sniffling back her tears.

The smile on her face suddenly disappeared when she saw what I clutched tightly in my hands.

"Yes, I would approve the proposal in hell" I lit up the proposal with the lighter. While she tried to collect the proposal as she screamed at the top of her lungs, the security personnel held her firmly by the shoulder and dragged her out of the office.

The documents that were burned into ashes were tossed aside.

I heaved a sigh, cleaned my hands, and was about to go back to my office when I stopped on my track.

I scrutinized the whole room with my eyes, only to discover that Liana wasn't there.

She was gone!
