ELARA'S POV

The guilt clawed at me, like a relentless gnawing ache in the pit of my stomach. Those stolen wolves, ripped from their slumber, their lives now hanging in the balance, haunted my waking thoughts and haunted my dreams. It was my fault. Every single one of them. CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED & FOURTHIRD PERSON POVRyker strode into their cabin, the scent of pine and woodsmoke clinging to his cloak. He tossed his worn leather onto a rough-hewn table, the sound echoing in the quiet room. A slow smile spread across his face, a predatory gleam in his eyes that hinted at the success of his mission.Seraphina emerged from the shadows, her eyes searching his. "Ryker? You're back? How did it go?"He laughed, a low throaty sound that sent a shiver down her spine. "Prefectly, my love. Just as we planned. Darius took the bait. Hook, line and sinker."He closed the distance between them, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek. "He's desperate, you see. Blinded by his love for his dying daughter. He will do anything, trust anyone, believe anything, just to save her."Seraphina leaned into his touch, her smile mirroring his. THIRD PERSON POVDarius carefully outlined his plan, his voice was devoid of any emotion, as if discussing a business transaction rather than the abduction of a woman. He detailed Elara's movements and routines which he learnt from Ryker and Seraphina who were always spying on Elara. He also mentioned about the security measures that surronded her.Aaron listened carefully, absorbing every detail, his mind already racing, plotting his own strategies."The key is distraction,", Darius stated. " Kael Lincoln and Ronan the Werewolf Alpha is fiercely protective of her. If we can create a credible threat elsewhere, he will be forced to divert his attention, leaving Elara vulnerable.""And what Kind of distraction for you have in mind?" Aaron asked, leaning back, his fingers drumming a silent rhythm on the desk as he thought. "A border skirmish? A rogue attack? Or...something more theatrical?"Darius's lips curled into a thin smile. "I have contacts within the Bloodmoon pack, rival to the L

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED & TWO.THIRD PERSON POV"Tell me everything," Aaron repeated, a predatory gleam flickering in his eyes. The throne room, felt suddenly smaller, the air thick with tension. He circled Darius, like a wolf assessing it's prey.Darius, however, remained unfazed, his posture unwavering. "My daughter....she's dying and she needs a blood healer,"Aaron arched a brow. "Okay?" Then suddenly his face went pale. "Arent blood healers extinct?""Elara is one."Aaron's eyes widended."Yes," Darius nodded. "Elara possesses a rare gift. She's the only one who can save my daughter."Aaron regained his composure, his smug look now tugged on his face. He stopped circling, a cruel smile twisting his lips. "I can't believe it," he shook his head. "So, the great Darius. The terror of the lands is brought low by a sick child? How touching..." He relished the flicker of anger that crossed Darius's face, a brief crack in his carefully constructed façade.Darius was on the verge of transfor

THIRD PERSON POVDarius walked towards Celeste's room, his footsteps heavy on the stone floor. He reached for the doorknob and twisted it, his breath catching in his throat as he walked in.Earlier, he had instructed the guards that guarded her room to leave. He needed space, some time alone to be with his daughter.Celetse laid on the bed, her face still pale. The sight of her looking so vulnerable and lifeless broke his heart."I've failed you," he murmured under his breath as he slowly walked towards her. "I failed to protect your mother. I also failed to protect you."He sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping with weariness. He gently took her hand, his fingers tracing the delicate lines of her palm."But, no matter what. You will be healed," he said in a low dangerous tone, his brows furrowing as he spoke. "I'll find a way. Even if it means I have to offer the greatest sacrifice."The words hung heavy in the air. THIRD PERSON POVDarius sat on his throne, the echo of Elara's power that day still reverberating within him. He'd dismissed it at first as a blood healer strength, or probably the strength was caused by adrenaline and the desperate need to protect her mate, Ronan. But the bright light that erupted from her body and the aura that was around her wolf unsettled him.His palace was still in chaos, part of it was in rumbles. He had to relocate to a smaller base, one he had kept hidden and away from others. The image of her wolf, bathed in that unusual light, moving with a swiftness that defies her inexperience and youth.Perhaps wasn't she all that she seemed? It gnawed at him. He'd felt the force of her blow, a force that shouldn't have been possible for an ordinary wolf, talkless of a female wolf.He suddenly stood up, the scraping sound of his boots against the stone floor echoed in the vast Hall. Frustration surged through him, a bitter mix of anger and fear.He slammed a fist into th
