“This could’ve gone very wrong for you, Hunter.”

Dominic’s fist clenched on his leg as Cooper drove them back to his apartment building. What she’d done was risky in the first place but also ingenious. She’d done what neither Lev nor Dominic could do and brought them together peacefully.

“I’m not stupid, Dominic. He would have either listened or sent me on my way. He listened, you’re welcome,” Hunter said.

Dominic grinned but it wasn’t a friendly grin. “You forced me into a situation.”

“Oh, please, you would’ve done the exact same thing. This is what we need and you’re just pissed off because it’s me that brought it to the table.” Hunter’s voice had risen at the end.

“You placed yourself in danger, Hunter. You went inside their territory and called out their boss! You broke his man’s nose! What the fuck were you thinking of going alone?” Dominic was only slightly pissed off with her, but he respected her courage more. She was a true Vittori.

“I knew he wouldn’t hurt me.” Hunter’s voice
