Ashanti’s POV

I stood in front of my father’s building, too scared to go in because I already knew what lectures he would give me when he found out the crazy thing I had gone to do to Elena at the hospital.

I took a deep breath, trying to process my anger.

At least if I had succeeded, I wouldn’t have been so pissed, but I didn’t, and if my father found out that once again I tried to go for Elena and couldn’t win against her, he would not hesitate to hurl more degrading insults at me.

I scoffed, chuckling dryly at my own unfortunate situation.

Was my father really right?

Was I too useless to fight and win against Elena?

The questions ran through my mind, then another reminder crept in slowly.

Elena had become unbearably strong.

All the years I had known her, I knew she never had that level of strength to her personality so I couldn’t help but wonder where it came from.
