I stood in front of my father’s building, too scared to go in because I already knew what lectures he would give me when he found out the crazy thing I had gone to do to Elena at the hospital.

I took a deep breath, trying to process my anger.

At least if I had succeeded, I wouldn’t have been so pissed, but I didn’t, and if my father found out that once again I tried to go for Elena and couldn’t win against her, he would not hesitate to hurl more degrading insults at me.
