Ashant pov.
For days, I followed them everywhere, watching from afar as both of them followed each other.
At first, I had thought they were pretending.
Maybe faking the whole relationship, but now, it didn’t seem that way.
He was all over her, wherever they went.
But why her, why did have always manage to get the better things?
Horace was here all over her, Michael was at home with me, but I knew his mind was still set on her.
He told me it was for the license nonsense, but I wasn’t stupid.
I saw the way he looked at her things around the house, to an extent, I had to hide them away.
Hoping it’ll help him forget her, but none of it worked.
Everything I ever wanted, she was getting without even trying.
Even though I was an A-list actress with thousands of fans supporting me, I still did things to satisfy him.
I cooked, I cleaned. I was even pregnant with his child, not none of it worked.
His obsession with her grew especially since she left him. He was never like that when she was still in the house, and he could always go back and meet her after our rendezvous meetings.
So I decided to try the detached method. Do things I know he wouldn’t like just to get his attention.
I sat in front of my vanity, applying my makeup slowly.
“Uhm, Michael,” I called him.
He nodded without so much as paying me a glance.
“I got cast for a role recently. And… I think I’m going to take it.”
He nodded for a moment before looking at me.
“What?” He barked.
“You can’t work with my baby inside you.” He added. Leaving me shocked.
I’m the early days of a relationship, it used to be.
“No, baby, I don’t want you to work. I want to take care of you myself. I’ll do everything you want.”
But now, it was a case of me being pregnant. Like he didn’t care what I did with my life.
I scoffed. Tossing the makeup aside, not even trying to hide my anger.
Finally, he looked at me. “Ashanti, are you okay. Look at me.” He asked casually.
I let out another scoff.
“Ashanti. You now call me Ashanti?” He looked at me, puzzled. Like he had no idea what he had done wrong.
“Whatever happened to Baby or Shanti? When did you start to call me by my legal name, huh, Michael?” I whined, making sure to push the tears out to guilt-trip him.
“Oh.” He said, dropping his phone and walking towards me.
“I’m sorry, Shanti baby.” I flung my face away.
“I’ve just been a little busy and got carried away.”
He said.
I gave no reply, just crossed my hands over my chest, feigning anger.
“You know you’re the only woman I truly love.”
My heart softened at those words, even though I wasn’t sure he really meant them.
“You say that. But I don’t think it’s true.” I said, rolling my eyes.
He held my hand. “Baby, look at me.” When I refused to move my head, he turned my jaw with his hand. “You’re the only woman I ever truly cared about. Every other person is just use and dump, and you know that.”
I rolled my eyes again, slowly falling for his words.
“You’re the mother of my child, Shanti. You really think I’ll pick any other woman over you? I already chose you.”
Finally, I gave in.
“Fine. If you say so. Prove it to me.”
“Okay, fine. How. Whatever you want, you get.”
I looked at him, unsure how he would take my vet words, but I didn’t care. I had to say it.
“Take all of her properties and have them burned down.” I blurted out.
His eyes went wild like I was a crazy person or something.
“Are you crazy? I’m not going to do that.” He replied, actually, practically yelled.
“Why. Huh? Why can’t you do it? Because you’re still in love with your ex-wife, huh? Is that why?”
He rose to his feet. “First of all, we are still legally married and she isn’t my ex yet.”
My mouth fell.
“Secondly, that doesn’t even matter. Like I said, I don’t care about her or anyone else but you. But I can’t do something that crazy. What if she’s really dating Horace? Do you have any idea what he could do to me?” He said.
I got up, my hand still wrapped around my chest.
“So what, you’re scared of your cousin?” I asked, getting pissed that he was just making excuses.
“I, hmm…” he chuckled dryly, tilting his head and fixing his hand on his waist like. His eyes shot daggers at me like he couldn’t believe I could even say that.
“I’m not scared of him. Okay. But I still not to be careful. He’s the pack's alpha shanti. We wouldn’t want to get into any sort of trouble with him, especially with the baby on the way.”
He said reassuringly.
“Are you certain that’s all the reason?”
I asked, still unsure.
“Of course, baby. That’s all, and you know it. I’m going to be a father soon, so I can’t only be thinking of myself. I also need to think of my new family.” He added, placing a soft kiss on my lips.
“Fine. If you say that. I believe you. And I’m not really working, I only said that to get your attention.” I said.
“Oh, that’s good. Wouldn’t want you overworking your beautiful self.”
Later that night, while Michael was having a bath, a text came into his phone.
I picked it up to go give it to him, “Baby, you have a mess—“
My words were cut short when I noticed the content of the message.
Hello. I have news on where Miss Elena will be tomorrow. Call me.
“Tch.” My heart dropped, my grip tightening around the phone
“Elena, you bitch. I swear on my life, I’m going to kill you. Even if it’s the last thing I do.”
My eyes widened, tears welling deep in my them.
“I’ll make sure I fucking kill you.”
Micheal’s pov.Unable to bear the pain of my wife in the arms of another man, I got to work making plans I was certain could give me results. After much investigation, I found out that Horace’s assistant had always secretly been in love with him.But never looked her way, worse now that Elena had entered the picture. So I reached out to her with a perfect plan.A buried case that happened to Elena back in college, where a rumor was spread widely that she cheated on her exams. Fake evidence was also planted by the accuser, so naturally, the school failed all her exams and was on the verge of expelling her. But, being unrelenting, she was able to find the loopholes in the scheme and managed to discover the necessary evidence needed to prove it was all a lie. This time around, the school carried out its investigations properly and determined her claims to be true. But it was sort of too late. The whole school had heard the story, so when her results were reinstated, students pointed fing
Horace’s pov.I reached for Ethan immediately, unable to digest what Monica was saying.“Elena, come on, I need words. Not silence. Can you explain yourself?” My voice grew louder, more hasty. But she said nothing. Just got, held her head, looking shocked and confused.Like she couldn’t believe someone could discover such a secret. This only made me more unsettled, so I reached for the documents on the table, flipping them open. The moment I went through the contents, my heart sank.I couldn’t believe my eyes. Monica’s words were true. Her medical school results were in front of me, where she failed all courses. No exceptions.“Oh, that’s not all, boss. Flip to the next one.” Monica spat, and in my shocked state, I complied.I flipped to the next page, and it was a report about how she paid off the school and slept with some staff members to get her results and subsequently, her license.“Hah.” I scoffed, my hands shaking as I continued to look at the documents in front of me.The nan
Elena’s pov.I was in the kitchen, lost in the oats I was stirring, that I hadn't realized when someone walked in.His scent travelled to my lungs pulling me back to reality. Then, I felt his body. Rock-hard, against mine.Following his fingers over my arm, brushing down until they reached the food, he used his middle finger to scoop a little.Against my mind's warnings, I turned to watch him as he took his finger to his mouth, licking it off slowly while holding my stare down.My mouth went dry as my gaze lingered on for a tad too long.My throat swallowed.I wanted to look away, but my body seemed to have been stuck. My eyes watched as he repeatedly sucked on his fingers in an unholy manner for what seemed like forever, never once looking away from me.I felt hot all over my body, and slight itchy sensations prickled my skin in dangerous places.I managed. Forced myself, really, to finally look away.My head was filled with so many profane thoughts, I had to force myself to stir con
Elena's POVAfter putting Ethan to bed, I had something to clarify for the upcoming surgery, so I looked around for Horace and noticed he was nowhere to be found.I went to his room, knocking, but was met with silence. So I knew there was only one other place he could be, his home office.I walked gently, as it was already late at night. When I got there, the door was slightly open, but I still knocked lightly and got no reply.Peeping my head in, I noticed he was rather engrossed in something on the desk.So I opened the door and made my way in slowly; he didn’t see me until my voice rang out.“What is that?” I said, reaching to touch the photo. He pulled it away, closing it hurriedly. But not before my eyes registered its content. It was a photo of a woman.Could it be his wife? I thought.“Oh.” Shocked, I pulled my hands back. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have touched it.”He waved me off, shaking his head. “It’s fine. What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in bed?” He follo

Horace pov.I was in Ethan’s room, playing with him, when my mind flashed back to the event of the previous night.I walked into Ethan’s room and saw them sleeping peacefully beside each other. My heart melted as I walked closer to her.At first, I had only wanted to pull a comforter over her, but then, the scene began to wonderful.Like a complete family. So, I had to join in. I lay beside her gently and in no time fell deeply asleep, something I hadn’t been able to do easily in a long while. It was the best sleep I had had in years. The thought brought a smile to my lips, just as another thought entered my head.“So you Ethan son, look at me.”He turned to face me, still laughing from a shattered Lego he had built. When he finally settled down, I started.“So you like Elena very much, huh?”He first looked at me like I said something strange before replying.“I like Mama very much.” He mumbled, going back to building his Lego toys.“Of course, mama,” I muttered, my heart melting aga
