Micheal’s pov.
Unable to bear the pain of my wife in the arms of another man, I got to work making plans I was certain could give me results.
After much investigation, I found out that Horace’s assistant had always secretly been in love with him.
But never looked her way, worse now that Elena had entered the picture.
So I reached out to her with a perfect plan.
A buried case that happened to Elena back in college, where a rumor was spread widely that she cheated on her exams. Fake evidence was also planted by the accuser, so naturally, the school failed all her exams and was on the verge of expelling her.
But, being unrelenting, she was able to find the loopholes in the scheme and managed to discover the necessary evidence needed to prove it was all a lie.
This time around, the school carried out its investigations properly and determined her claims to be true.
But it was sort of too late. The whole school had heard the story, so when her results were reinstated, students pointed fingers at her, accusing her of sleeping with the higher-ups and paying to get her license.
The school board felt responsible and tried their best to kill down the issue. They even threatened expulsion of anyone caught gossiping about the topic, and for fear it might also affect her practice after school, the school erased and buried all relations to the topic.
Never to be remembered, and eventually, the story turned into a silent one.
That story was set up by Ashanti. At first, I wasn’t aware, but when the investigation began and she was almost caught, she ran to me for help.
I helped her bribe a few of the officials involved, and the perpetrator was labeled as anonymous.
The girl hated Elena so much, she just wanted to destroy her. At first, I was shocked and not so supportive of it. But now, I am thankful that it happened. After Monica went into the white House, I parked a few meters away, watching everything as they unfolded.
Minutes after Monica came out, Elena also followed, holding a small bag in her hand. I knew the plan had worked perfectly, and I couldn’t be happier. I was sure she would call me immediately and beg that she wanted to come back home, or at least beg for some money to survive.
She didn’t, so I followed the Uber she boarded, to my surprise, she stopped in front of a hotel, the most expensive in the city.
At first, I thought she wanted to meet someone there, but when she didn’t come out, I went in and inquired.
“Uhm, excuse me, did that lady in a floral dress pay to enter?” I asked almost desperately.
At first, they didn’t answer me, and I wasn’t surprised. It was protocol in a hotel that respect not to give out customers' information, but I didn’t give up.
After much hassle from me, they finally grew tired.
“She’s here as a special guest of Alpha Horace; she doesn’t need to give any mode of payment to secure a room, regardless of what room it is.”
The receptionist replied, and immediately my world crumbled.
Surprise was an understatement.
As I drove back home, my mind kept circling on what the reason could be.
When I opened the door, I saw my parents in the house. My mother was glued to Ashanti as she petted her stomach lightly.
“Where have you been, son? I saw your son kicking today. Oh my precious grandbaby. Finally, we get to hold one in our hand. Good riddance to that silly barren girl who couldn’t hold a child in her womb for you.” My mother said, I managed to feign a smile as I walked into my room.
I sat on the bed, feeling lightheaded and angry when I heard the door open and slam.
Ashanti walked in, hands crossed over her shoulder as she stood over me. “Uhm, I was expecting a little more excitement to hear that your baby kicked.”
“Oh, moon goddess. Leave me the hell alone, Ashanti, would you? Just leave me alone. So what if the baby kicked? Huh, am I supposed to jump into the air and catch the sky for you before you know I’m happy? Just leave me alone, okay. I’m not in the mood.”
She scoffed. “Oh my goodness, you’ve got to be kidding me. What? Did that woman manage to crawl into your head again? Huh? Did that bitch manage to distract your attention from your real family again, Michael?”
I had had enough. I jumped to my feet and grabbed her by the throat, eyes shooting daggers at her.
She stared back, shock evident in her eyes.
My hands squeezed around her throat as I yelled, “That ‘bitch’ as you call her is still my legal wife, you whore. Leave her name out of your mouth and leave me alone.”
Her mouth opened to say something, but no words could come out. Just then, the door burst open and my parents rushed in. My father managed to pull me off her, and my mother held onto her, comforting and calming her down as she tried to catch her breath.
“How dare you, Michael. Do you want to harm the baby?” My father yelled.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” I repeated, feeling my heart pound against my chest.
“It’s all because of that stupid wench. He wants to kill me and his baby because of that stupid bitch.”
Ashanti yelled out after managing to catch her breath.
“It won’t happen again, I promise. I promise it won’t happen again.” I said, almost breathless myself.
“Mom. Dad. You need to get Justice for me. Elena won’t leave the father of my child alone.” Ashanti followed.
“I’m going to do something about this. I promise, you hear me. I swear on my grandbaby, I’ll set things straight.” My mother said, but I gave no response.
My mind was far away. If they were having issues like Monica had said, which was believable because she left the house immediately, why then would she go to the most expensive hotel in the city and in his name?
What is truly going on between those two?!

Horace’s pov.I reached for Ethan immediately, unable to digest what Monica was saying.“Elena, come on, I need words. Not silence. Can you explain yourself?” My voice grew louder, more hasty. But she said nothing. Just got, held her head, looking shocked and confused.Like she couldn’t believe someone could discover such a secret. This only made me more unsettled, so I reached for the documents on the table, flipping them open. The moment I went through the contents, my heart sank.I couldn’t believe my eyes. Monica’s words were true. Her medical school results were in front of me, where she failed all courses. No exceptions.“Oh, that’s not all, boss. Flip to the next one.” Monica spat, and in my shocked state, I complied.I flipped to the next page, and it was a report about how she paid off the school and slept with some staff members to get her results and subsequently, her license.“Hah.” I scoffed, my hands shaking as I continued to look at the documents in front of me.The nan
Elena’s pov.I was in the kitchen, lost in the oats I was stirring, that I hadn't realized when someone walked in.His scent travelled to my lungs pulling me back to reality. Then, I felt his body. Rock-hard, against mine.Following his fingers over my arm, brushing down until they reached the food, he used his middle finger to scoop a little.Against my mind's warnings, I turned to watch him as he took his finger to his mouth, licking it off slowly while holding my stare down.My mouth went dry as my gaze lingered on for a tad too long.My throat swallowed.I wanted to look away, but my body seemed to have been stuck. My eyes watched as he repeatedly sucked on his fingers in an unholy manner for what seemed like forever, never once looking away from me.I felt hot all over my body, and slight itchy sensations prickled my skin in dangerous places.I managed. Forced myself, really, to finally look away.My head was filled with so many profane thoughts, I had to force myself to stir con
Elena's POVAfter putting Ethan to bed, I had something to clarify for the upcoming surgery, so I looked around for Horace and noticed he was nowhere to be found.I went to his room, knocking, but was met with silence. So I knew there was only one other place he could be, his home office.I walked gently, as it was already late at night. When I got there, the door was slightly open, but I still knocked lightly and got no reply.Peeping my head in, I noticed he was rather engrossed in something on the desk.So I opened the door and made my way in slowly; he didn’t see me until my voice rang out.“What is that?” I said, reaching to touch the photo. He pulled it away, closing it hurriedly. But not before my eyes registered its content. It was a photo of a woman.Could it be his wife? I thought.“Oh.” Shocked, I pulled my hands back. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have touched it.”He waved me off, shaking his head. “It’s fine. What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in bed?” He follo
Ashant pov.For days, I followed them everywhere, watching from afar as both of them followed each other. At first, I had thought they were pretending.Maybe faking the whole relationship, but now, it didn’t seem that way.He was all over her, wherever they went. But why her, why did have always manage to get the better things?Horace was here all over her, Michael was at home with me, but I knew his mind was still set on her.He told me it was for the license nonsense, but I wasn’t stupid.I saw the way he looked at her things around the house, to an extent, I had to hide them away.Hoping it’ll help him forget her, but none of it worked.Everything I ever wanted, she was getting without even trying.Even though I was an A-list actress with thousands of fans supporting me, I still did things to satisfy him.I cooked, I cleaned. I was even pregnant with his child, not none of it worked. His obsession with her grew especially since she left him. He was never like that when she was stil
Horace pov.I was in Ethan’s room, playing with him, when my mind flashed back to the event of the previous night.I walked into Ethan’s room and saw them sleeping peacefully beside each other. My heart melted as I walked closer to her.At first, I had only wanted to pull a comforter over her, but then, the scene began to wonderful.Like a complete family. So, I had to join in. I lay beside her gently and in no time fell deeply asleep, something I hadn’t been able to do easily in a long while. It was the best sleep I had had in years. The thought brought a smile to my lips, just as another thought entered my head.“So you Ethan son, look at me.”He turned to face me, still laughing from a shattered Lego he had built. When he finally settled down, I started.“So you like Elena very much, huh?”He first looked at me like I said something strange before replying.“I like Mama very much.” He mumbled, going back to building his Lego toys.“Of course, mama,” I muttered, my heart melting aga
