I had enjoyed all the other days, and of course, I had loved the nights….but family day was the best.

I got to play with the Isogawa's grandchildren. I got to watch Daniel playing with the bigger kids. I got to imagine what it would be like when we have our own kids months from now.

But even as Daniel was playing and laughing with the bigger kids, something was wrong.

I could tell.

I wondered if it was because I joked about having eight kids.

I had noticed how Daniel had been appalled and I quickly said it's a joke.

When the kids went to eat dinner with their parents, I and Daniel ate with Richard and Leonie, who suddenly were acting more like newlyweds than me and Daniel were.

Leonie was bubbling with enthusiasm as we talked about Isogawa's grandchildren.

Far from putting her off having children, the day had whetted her appetite. And Richard didn’t seem to be averse to the idea.
