Eleanor's POV
I watched dreamily as someone I'd regarded as a fallen angel sat across me in the room. I gulped as a reaction to his moving Adam's apple. It was driving me crazy.
" E…yeah?" I sounded exactly as I was feeling. Nervous and surprised. " Eleanor, yes…that's me" I said with a faint smile. I quickly adjusted to a straight face as I saw my recipient wasn't smiling.
Harrison looked at me for a long time as if he was trying to figure something out. " Does your family know you're here?" He asked.
" No". Because why would I let them know? The peace I was experiencing cannot be compared to anything else.
" Good, that disturbance wouldn't be needed". Sure it won't be needed, would never be needed. I was enjoying this company and the silence I brought to my disturbed heart.
But there's something about this man. He is handsome, very handsome but I'm not fazed with his beauty as much as I was when he entered the room.
He is so professional and he talks to me as if I'm an employee. That's a green flag for me.
" Here, read it very carefully. If all the conditions are okay with you, sign it. If not, you are free to leave".
He extended a blue file to me and that was when I started hearing my heart pound. I had been waiting to see the contract but why am I afraid to read it through now.
The feeling that I don't know what I'm doing and why I'm even here hits the right spot. Reading the contract line by line, bits says:
"Miss Eleanor has hereby agreed to be in a contracted marriage with Mr Harrison for the period of 5 years. During this time, Miss Eleanor is free to have a relationship outside the marriage and Miss Eleanor is not allowed to fall in love with Mr Harrison.
Miss Eleanor can only go out three times a day with a guard every time. Most importantly, she must obey every single thing Mr Harrison asks of her.
In return, at the end of the five years, she Shall be paid $5,000,000 and during this time, anything she needs shall be provided"
5 years??? 5 million dollars. My eyes could almost pop out of my socket. I looked at Mr Harrison. " Is it that simple?" I asked with excitement.
Mr Harrison nodded and he finally broke a smile. I hurriedly signed the contract. I gave him back the contract and looked at the expression on his face.
" But why do you need a contract marriage, there are rumors that you have a fiance" I unconsciously asked. His eyebrows curved down and his forehead wrinkled a little.
" Now that's none of your business. Let's go" he said standing up. I didn't mean to get him annoyed or anything. I guess it's inevitable anyway.
I followed behind him. His tall body covered my whole body, I couldn't see outside. We finally got outside.
The birds chirped, the sun was bright, the air was cool. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the embrace of a new world. I never knew life was this beautiful, I feel like a newborn.
We got to his car and he drove to a particular Court. On getting there, some documents were brought out for us to fill and Mr Harrison put a ring in my finger.
That was when it dawned on me that it was court marriage. Am I officially married now? To Mr Harrison? I could imagine us having kids and-
Having kids? I bit my lower lips as my face turned red. I hoped Harrison didn't see that. I turned to look at him but he was busy with the people in the court.
When he was done, he drove me back to the mansion. A very silent drive.
We got home a bit late but not too late. " Sleep well then Eleanor. I'll call you very soon" Harrison said and left.
I watched as he drove off and that's when I realized. 5 years?? Fucking 5 years? No falling in love?
I shrugged those thoughts away from my head. I wasn't ready to allow any strange feelings affect my peace.
I sighed heavily and entered the mansion. The guards bowed as I enter, so did the maids and they were probably too much.
It seemed like I'm the only one who's different in the whole mansion. I looked around and wondered how I'd get to my room or where it was even located.
One must not play hide and seek in this house. I paced left and right, trying not to look too stupid.
" Anyhow can I help you ma'am?" A maid appeared. I let out a sigh of relief.
" I can't really remember how to get to my room". The maid smiled and led the way. Phew! That was easy.
As we walked upstairs, I felt deja Vu and smiled at my own thoughts. It was a bit funny how I remembered everywhere we passed by.
"Thank you", I appreciated the lady
" Please don't thank me ma'am, I might get into trouble" she said and smiled. It's nice to have people around. I laughed and asked for her name.
" You can call me anything you like ma'am"
" Hannah, Hannah is it" I said. The lady genuflected and left.
This place is full of luxury and innocence, I laughed. If someone told me I'll be here today, I'll give everything to say it's a lie.
I turned around and sunk myself inside the mysteriously soft queen-size bed. I took the initiative to look around, since I had nothing to do.
Directly opposite me was a lamp, one that looked like Aladdin's. I walked across and saw some more ancient things. The painting on the wall, the table, the book shelf, the scent of the room, the decorations and the color of the room. It all looked ancient yet classic.
If I hadn't known better, I'd think this room was for a psychic.
Leaving the room, luckily I met Hannah. " Hey, can you please show me around?" I said politely.
" Yes ma'am" she said and bowed again. I wasn't cool with this bowing stuff.
" Is there any way you can stop bowing?" I said with a grin.
Hannah answered with a bow. It was funny somehow and we both managed to laugh.
Hannah took me round the house twice because I insisted I'd forget. The house was indeed big. There was a garden at the back of the mansion and close to it was a large swimming pool.
Hannah also showed me Harrison's room. It was close to mine upstairs though but it was locked for some reason.
" And that is the whole house" Hannah concluded. We had been gossing the whole time while going around the house.
" Dinner would be ready in an hour, ma'am," Hannah said. It's funny how I'm already fond of her.
" Hey, can you call me Eleanor?"
" Ma'am, I might lose my job"
" It's okay, you can call me whatever you like when we're amidst other people" I assured her. " Bye now Hannah" I said and entered the room.
I picked my phone and texted Emil. After sending three texts about how the mansion was, I got no reply. I felt the enthusiasm in me wash away.
Maybe I'll text him some other day. Dinner was soon served and that was the end of my day.
***
I took the new day to get familiar with the maids and guards. I went to the maids chamber and chatted with them, at least they kept my company.
The maids agreed to call me Eleanor whenever we're alone, well most of them were my agemates.
" Eleanor, your phone's ringing" a maid screamed running to our direction with my phone in her hand.
" Who's it?" I asked standing to get my phone from her. I collected it and saw it. "Augie".
He has the guts to call me? Is he crazy? I declined the call angrily and left for my room. He called again and I declined. What does he want now?
The thought of August and Jess making out kept coming to my head. I could feel the tugging of anger in my stomach.
My phone rang again, thank goodness it's Emil.
" Hey… how have you been? Girl, I've missed you, can't you come around to school or something"
" Guy, I'm still taking a break"
" So what does your husband look like?" Emil asked. I wasn't sure if I should tell him I was married to the most handsome billionaire in the city.
" Just some random guy. Yuuno, but he's handsome I can assure you that."
" Okay Eleanor, when am I seeing you?"
" Soon Emil, Pretty soon". I saw Harrison's assistant coming from the stairs with some stuff in his hands.
" I'll call you back Emil. Gotta go", I said and hung up. I quickly ran to meet Harry's assistant on his way.
" Hey good morning. 3pm prompt" he said and handed the stuffing to a maid. He looked at me and said " check your phone". He didn't wait for me to say anything before he turned back and left.
Getting to the room to check my phone, I saw a text.
" We'll be eating with my family. Get dressed and smell nice. All you need has been taken care of. ~ Harrison".
Wait what!!!!
He's going to introduce me as his wife to his family!!!!

The sound of "Here comes the bride" echoed through the church of St Paul. A lot of people were seated in the church, waiting for the bride to come around. Eleanor was in the changing room, fighting her corset with Lina."Damn, this is tight. I could have chosen a much better dress. All in the name of fashion. What if I fail to breathe and I faint in front of my husband? Ish.""If you fail to breathe, I will pour you water. Just in case.""Emill," Lina warned."What? Have you forgotten what she did to me on our wedding day? She hid my tie and made me use a bow tie.""And it was perfect but you don't trust your best friend. That is what is wrong with you. Anyway, if you pour me water, you would owe me 5 million dollars. I would collect it from you. I know you know that.""Eleanor, you still want to bully me on your wedding day? Jeez. People change, why didn't you?" Someone knocked on the door and Emil went to pick it up. "You're not supposed to see your bride before the wedding. They s
Writer's POVHarrison went back to his hotel and tried to think about what he could do for Eleanor. It was a hard task. He knew Eleanor wouldn't just agree to see him just like that. There was nothing he could think of buying that would be catchy to her.He went to bed, hoping the next day would be very good.*** Eleanor walked back and forth to the room. "Again, who invited Harrison? This isn't a joke. Why would one of you invite Harrison without my permission? Why?"Her mother sat on a chair, knitting stockings. "As much as I hate the boy, he still looks handsome. Did you ask him the type of cream he was using?""Mother, this is not funny. Do you know how I felt when I saw him? I was going to lose my mind. Why would you do such things behind my back?"No one was answering her. She sat in the chair, frustratingly shaking her leg. "Well, I think he's a changed person. I heard he built a house for orphans on the streets. It is also said that he is a good man and he let out all his slav
Writer's POVHe held the child's hands and looked around as she led him to a hallway. "Magny? Where are you? Come out now. We have a visitor, he says he bears annoying Harry's name."Harrison laughed. The child was something. He found the plastic horse on the ground. He bent down and showed her the toy. Tada" "Yay! You found Magny." She hugged him. That was when Harrison perceived it. "Thank you, Uncle Harrison. I'll see you later, okay?" She said and ran off. He stood still. He could never mistake it. She smelled exactly like Eleanor. Exactly like Eleanor, he was sure of it. Come to think of it, her hair was also gray and her eyes belonged to Eleanor. If he wasn't hallucinating, then he was running mad. He closed his eyes and turned around. "I need to get them now. Mia, nice, go find Harry. Look for him, I didn't say you should hide and seek…" he heard the voice and the clacking sounds of shoes coming his way. He quickly hid in a corner. The fact that he was there wasn't the probl
Writer's POV*Five years later*"Brother, look at this model. She also sent you a message and you still haven't replied. Why? Do you want to live like this forever? This isn't some Disney movie. I am married and you are not. People are talking," Nikki protested to her brother who was packing his bags. He wasn't paying attention to Nikki and he wasn't interested in doing so. "Brothers I am talking to you, do not ignore me.""Nikki. People are different. Some people love marriages…some don't. I don't. I need to get to the office. I am trying to lead by example."Nikki pursed her lips. "Is this because of Eleanor? Are you still punishing yourself for that? You know you deserve it but this is enough. It's been five years and you are not getting any younger. You need to find someone to get married to and have kids. Who would take care of your company when you are gone?"Harrison was dressed and tired of Nikki. He would do anything to drive her out of his house but he didn't want to push h
Writer's POVHarrison walked around the house, screaming and throwing things apart. How would he explain it to her? She wouldn't even want to hear him out. He was done. He had to accept the fact that he would never have her again. There was no magic for him to perform.*Two hours earlier*Harrison was mild and sad, wondering and planning how he was going to meet Eleanor and get the shit out of her. Someone knocked on his door. The guards opened. For a moment he thought it was going to be Eleanor but instead, it was her friend, Candy. He knew Candy was Eleanor's friend so he thought it would be easy if he sent Candy to Eleanor so that Eleanor would at least mind meeting him."Good morning Mr. Tolstoy. How are you?" Of course, he wasn't fine. All he wanted at the moment was to see Eleanor. "I am fine," he lied. "Eleanor isn't here at the moment and Jay already took his leave. I thought he told you all that?""Oh, dear. I wasn't sure about what he was telling me on the phone and why Elea
Writer's POVEleanor Carol dressed up in black. Luxury Black. She did her makeup and made sure everything was pitch black. She took her bag and headed out of the house. Her destination was a place she didn't want to visit but Emil just reminded her how brutally she was of that place. She entered Tolstoy's apartment. The guards didn't stop her. Every clicking sound of her shoes emitted danger. She wasn't smiling. She went in and went straight to the stables. She didn't care if Harrison was home or not. The moment she saw Magny, the horse neighed happily. I hadn't seen her for a long time. She smiled. At least something was still capable of making her smile. She related the horse. She was taking him home. She found the men that used to be there. They already knew her face so they let her be. Perhaps they had no idea Hendrix was in prison. She caressed the horse and calmed it down. It must have been so lonely staying there alone. There was no Hendrix to take care of him so she was goi
