Never Expected.

Nora sat at the front of the doctor's office, holding the test results in her hands. The doctor's words echoed in her head: "Congratulations, Miss Nora Gibson. You are three weeks pregnant." It all felt like a surreal dream to Nora. Just a couple of hours ago, she had been healthy and running with Alice from the intersection to the wedding hall. But then, suddenly, she found herself being rushed to the hospital by Alice and paramedics in an ambulance. She had lost consciousness and only regained it later. The doctor ran some tests and gave her the unexpected news.

As Nora sat there, the reality of the situation hit her - she was pregnant. Memories of the one night stand she had with a stranger a month ago came flooding back, and she bit her lower lip in anxious contemplation. "Several hits in one day," Nora muttered to herself, feeling overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events. She couldn't believe that her life had changed so drastically in just a matter of hours. Nora was left wondering what her next steps would be, and how she would navigate this unexpected journey ahead.

Alice had excused herself to use the restroom after hearing the news of Nora's pregnancy from the doctor. When she emerged, she made her way over to Nora, who was still waiting at the front of the doctor's office. Taking a deep breath, Alice sat down next to her friend and asked, "Are you okay now?"

Nora looked up at Alice, managing a small smile and a nod, before casting her gaze back down to the ground. Alice could see that Nora was clearly overwhelmed by the news.

"Is Austin the father?" Alice asked, hoping to get some more information from her troubled friend about the Father of the baby she was carrying.

However, Nora shook her head negatively in response.

During the time when Nora had to leave her home due to her ex-fiancé Austin, Alice had helped her pack her things and offered her a place to stay. However, Nora had not confided in Alice about the one night stand she had had a month ago. Nora kept that secret to herself, not wanting to burden Alice any further with her problems.

Alice's eyes widened in shock as Nora revealed that Austin was not the father of her unborn child. "Then who is the father if not Austin?" Alice asked, her voice trembling with disbelief.

Nora knew she had to come clean and tell Alice the truth. She took a deep breath and raised her head to meet Alice's gaze. With a heavy heart, she recounted the events of that fateful night when she had a one night stand with a stranger whose face she couldn't even remember.

Alice placed her hands over her mouth, her eyes filling with tears. "What? Oh, Nora, this is terrible," she exclaimed, unable to hide her shock.

Nora smiled awkwardly, feeling a mixture of emotions. She was scared, confused, and overwhelmed, but at the same time, she felt relieved to have finally shared her secret with her best friend.

Alice's face turned serious as she considered the gravity of the situation. "How about aborting the baby?" she suggested, her voice firm and serious.

Nora looked up at Alice, her eyes filled with tears. "I can't, Alice," she said softly.

"You don't even know the child's father," Alice pointed out. "How can a 23-year-old cater for a child? Even couples are having a hard time providing for their children. Being a single parent is not easy, Nora. The doctor said that due to your description of how you feel, it might be twins or even triplets. How will you be able to provide for them?"

Nora felt a lump form in her throat as she considered Alice's words.

As Nora considered Alice's suggestion of aborting the baby, she knew in her heart that she couldn't go through with it. "I can't, Alice," she said firmly. "I have neither a father nor a mother. The only family I have right now is the child inside of me."

Alice nodded in understanding, realizing how difficult it must be for Nora to make such a decision. "So what are you going to do now?" Alice asked, concerned.

Nora took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to say. "I will have the child, but I can no longer stay here at Amzone City," she said. "There are too many awful memories of me in this city. I need to go somewhere far away, far away from my terrible past in this city."

Alice listened attentively, her heart breaking for her friend. She knew that Nora had been through a lot, and she wanted to help in any way she could. "Where would you want to go?" Alice asked gently, trying to be supportive.

"I don't know yet," Nora admitted. "I just made the decision a few minutes ago."

Alice thought for a moment before an idea struck her. "How about coming with me to France?" she suggested. "You recall I would be going to France soon since I got the admission I have been seeking."

Nora looked up at Alice, surprised by her friend's offer. "Yes, you told me a few days ago," she said.

"Would you come with me?" Alice asked, hoping that Nora would agree, her heart pounding in her chest.

Nora's face lit up. "It's my pleasure, Alice. That's the fresh start I need right now," she replied happily.

Just as they held each other's hand happily. Alice's phone rang. She glanced at the Caller ID and saw that it was Mrs. Sarah. Her nerves kicked in as she answered the phone, taking a deep breath to steady herself.

To her surprise, Mrs. Sarah asked about Nora's condition. Alice's heart swelled with gratitude as she was able to reassure Mrs. Sarah that Nora had regained consciousness. Then, to top it off, Mrs. Sarah informed Alice that she had sent their Pay of $2000 to Alice's bank account.

Tears welled up in Alice's eyes as she thanked Mrs. Sarah for her generosity. Turning to Nora, she shared the good news, and they both beamed with joy and relief. It was just the boost they needed to kickstart their new beginning together.

As Alice and Nora made their way through the airport, they arranged their belongings in their luggage, eager to start their new adventure in France. They arrived at the departure gate and waited for their flight to be announced.

Alice turned to Nora, curious about her future plans. "Do you think you'll be coming back to the city?" she asked.

Nora smiled, her eyes glinting with determination. "Of course, Alice. My properties and my dad's company are here in Amzone City. I'll be back to take what rightfully belongs to me," she replied, her tone firm.

Suddenly, the announcement for their flight to France came over the intercom, and Alice and Nora gathered their luggage and tickets before making their way towards the airplane.

As they approached the boarding gate, Nora turned to take one last look at the city she had grown up in and lost her parents in. She whispered, "Bye for now, Mom and Dad. I'll be back soon." With a determined expression, she turned and walked onto the plane, with Alice following closely behind.
