Stacey’s POV:

I stepped into the lavishly furnished living room of my home, which was one of the two living rooms in the house.

My best friend, Aliya, was gifted this house by her parents after she graduated. When she heard I got a job in LA, she insisted I stayed with her. That’s just how Aliya was; very kind and open hearted. We had met in film school where I attended as a scholarship student and I was forever grateful that I found a friend like her.

I threw my bag on the custom-made Camaleo

Stacey’s POV;I woke up to the bright light shining through the window, but it was pale in comparison to the glow in my heart. Yesterday was perfect. As I turned to my side, I realized that I was in an empty bed. I remembered that it was Richard's bed, but where was he?I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, following the sounds of sizzling food and clinking dishes. As I entered the kitchen, I was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly made pancakes.Richard was standing by the stove, his back to me, as he expertly flipped pancakes and scrambled eggs. He was wearing a white apron over his clothes, and his hair was slightly messy, as if he had just rolled out of bed.I smiled to myself, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort at the sight of Richard cooking breakfast for me. I leaned against the doorway, watching him as he worked.I couldn't help but stare at Richard as he cooked breakfast, his movements fluid and effortless. As he finished flipping the pancakes, he turned and was star

Stacey’s POV;I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. Everything was blurry, but I could make out two figures standing over me, talking in hushed tones. I tried to focus, but my head was spinning. As I listened to the voices, I started to make out what they were saying. One of the voices was familiar - it was the security guard who had been walking me home. But the other voice... it was a voice I knew intimately. A voice I hadn't heard in weeks.I closed my eyes again, trying to clear my head. When I opened them again, my gaze met a pair of gorgeous blue eyes. It was as clear as day and I felt Richard holding me, his eyes locked on mine with a look of concern."Richard," I whispered, my voice barely audible. He smiled, relief washing over his face. "I've got you," he said, his voice low and soothing. "You're safe now."I looked around, taking in my surroundings. I was in a car, lying across the passenger seat. Richard was holding me, his arms wrapped around me i

Stacey’s POV;As the driver pulled into my driveway, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. The driver opened the door, and I stepped out, taking a deep breath of the cool evening air. But as I turned to thank the driver, I caught a glimpse of a hooded figure out of the corner of my eye.I spun around, trying to get a better look, but there was no one there. I shrugged it off, chalking it up to my imagination."I'm home!" I yelled, dropping my handbag on the counter."I'm in here!" Aliya replied from the bedroom. I decided to just tell Aliya everything, I honestly don’t know why I had kept it from her for so long. If anyone could help me make sense of all these, it was my best friend, Aliya.I walked into the room to find Aliya packing a suitcase. "Where are you going?" I asked, confusion etched on my face."Oh, hey! Work calls. I'm going to be out of town for a few days," she explained, tossing a few more clothes into the suitcase.I removed my coat, feeling a pang of concern. "You'l

Stacey’s POV;I sat at home, chewing on ice as I stared blankly at my phone. It had been weeks since I'd last heard from Richard. I didn’t know if it was because our six month contract was slowly reaching its end or still because of that night in Canada. He hadn't shown up to work, and when I'd gone to his place, the gardener told me he'd gone to his parents' house. I'd been worried sick, wondering if I'd done something wrong.Just then, Aliya walked into the living room, putting on her earrings as she got ready for another documentary shoot. "He still hasn't called?" she asked, giving me a worried look.I shook my head sadly, cracking another cube of ice. "No."Aliya passed me a cup of cold water. "I'm getting worried about you," she said, eyeing the ice in my hand. "You're chewing ice again, which means you're worried and anxious."I sighed, setting the ice cup down. "I'm fine, don't worry," I reassured her.But before I could say anything else, my phone rang. I quickly looked at it

Richard’s POV;I woke up to the warm rays of sunlight streaming through my bedroom window, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The headache that had plagued me the night before was gone, but unfortunately, thoughts of Stacey still lingered.I got into the bathroom and took a shower hoping to drown everything out as I came out with my towel wrapped around my waist and the other small towel drying my hair. I made my way to my kitchen, a sprawling space that was the epitome of luxury. The walls were adorned with sleek, high-gloss cabinets, and the countertops were made of rich, dark granite. A massive island in the center of the room provided ample space for food preparation, and a walk-in pantry was stocked with every gourmet ingredient imaginable.I fired up the espresso machine, a gleaming silver behemoth that was the crown jewel of my kitchen. As the aromatic coffee brewed, I gazed out the window, taking in the breathtaking view of the city skyline. But even the stunning vista couldn

Richard’s POV;The ride back home was shrouded in silence, the only sound was the soft hum of the engine. My body felt cold, a chill settling in the moment I dropped Stacey off. I couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness, like a part of me was missing. What was wrong with me? I couldn't believe I was actually missing her. This wasn't like me at all. I'm Richard Desmond, the guy who never gets attached.I gazed out the window, questions swirling in my mind like a vortex. What was this new feeling? Why was I feeling this way? I shrugged off the thought, trying to push it to the back of my mind. I pulled out my phone and dialed Ollie's number. He answered in two rings. "Hey, are you busy?" I asked, anticipating his response."No, why?" he replied, confusion lacing his voice."Good. Meet me at my place," I said, knowing that if anyone could help me make sense of this mess, it was Ollie."Sure, see you there," he said, and I ended the call.I leaned back in my seat, my mind still reel
