I couldn’t look at him for a second.

I blinked hard, then clenched my jaw to stop my own throat from collapsing.

“I am scared of losing you even if you’re still here. I am scared of seeing your name next to hers. You think I will be able to sleep knowing you are beside her every night, even if nothing’s happening and pretending I don’t fucking care ?”

He didn’t say anything. He just kept watching me.

I swallowed, and continued because I had to, because if I didn’t say it now, I never would. “I know it would just be a piece of paper. I know what you are saying.
