ROSANNE

The warriors barely had time to grasp what was happening, with their swords drawn it did nothing to protect them from the wild beast that had been set free.

Axel tore thrown the men, his eyes burning with molten fury as he made sure that they all felt the vengeance of his claws.

It was carnage, a scene out of a grotesque book, and I dwelled in it, enjoying it.

“Rosanne! Look out!” Ryan yelled, pushing me out of the way as an arrow whizzed past my ear, its tip missing my head in an inch.

“Thank you,” I breathed, my heart slamming through my chest.

“Just be careful,” he mumbled, picking up a sword as he blocked the next arrow that was shot at us.

Axel was surrounded, his eyes fixed on the lost souls that dared to fight him. The only difference about the scene was that, while they were fighting to defend their lives, Axel was hunting to kill.

Axel let out a roar, the primal sound of it vibrating through the walls of the room.

“Save the rest of your elders,” I commanded Ryan, pick

HUDSONDead men tell no tales.I wasn’t dead, nor was I alive.Jade.The name echoed through my lips, like a broken chant. A silent prayer to the goddess. All I could remember was the burning feeling of the dagger and the smug look on Stone's face. “Don’t worry, I will keep her warm and safe,” he muttered.I groaned, pained, shooting through my bones as I tried to move.“Take it easy, brother,” he mocked, leaning against the wall as he watched me.“You won't get away with this,” I groaned, clutching my stomach as I tried to stand up.“Moving would only make the poison work faster,” he warned.“You won't get away with this!” I roared.I tried to feel for my wolf, but he was quiet. Too quiet.Stone chuckled darkly, reminding me of his presence, “But the hardest part is done,” he said.“How? Who..”“You want to know how, and the people that had helped me?” he interrupted. “I don’t see why not. You are going to die anyway.”“Stone…”“Are you going to keep interrupting me, or are you going

HUDSONI had expected her to throw a fuss. Make my world hard the minute the maids started packing up her things. I had stayed away from her, hiding out in the suite that Mikhail had provided. But after a few days, I cracked. Ordering the maids to move her things. We wouldn’t be sharing the same room, I knew she hated that.“What is going on?” Blair asked.“No one is telling me anything. They just walked into my room and started taking out my things,” Jade replied.“Where is Hudson?” Blair asked.“I haven’t seen him for a while,” she replied. My heart tugged. Was that worry that I heard in her tone? I could be reaching, but I couldn’t fight the smile that curled on my lips at the thought that my absence had made her worry.“I am here,” I said, walking into the room.Jade released a sigh, her face indifferent, but I could see a flicker of emotion through her eyes. It was quick, so quick that I questioned myself whether I had imagined it.“Why are you moving her things?” Blair asked.I

IRENEThey bowed, feigning respect as they walked past me. But could see it in their eyes, the mockery, the silent laughter. Anger filled my body. Mikhail had reduced me to nothing. Pining after a wolf who had nothing to offer. You set for me?” she bowed. She was the only one who still feared me, well, she barely had a choice.“Yvonne,” I uttered, smiling brightly at her.She looked like a mess. After betraying her sister, hoping that Rosanne could be captured. She had failed, running to Mikhail for some counterplan. I liked her, she was smart, and I hated Rosanne just as much as I did. The enemy of my enemy was my friend.“Sit,” I commanded, pushing towards her a tray filled with freshly baked treats. “I hope you have a sweet tooth,” I said in a cheerful tone.“Forgive my bluntness. What do you want from me?” she hissed, her eyes hardening as she stared at me.Smart. I liked that, I didn’t have to hide under the pretence of caring for her to get what I want.“Tell me everything that

MIKHAILMy wolf was jittery. I couldn’t shake off the nerves that I was feeling. It didn’t help with the fact that I had felt Landon’s wolf call out to me.“Is this a wrong time?” Hudson’s voice cut through.I blinked, shaking off the haze that I had been stuck in, “Sorry, I am just distracted,” I muttered.“We will find her. Don’t worry about it,” he said, his voice filled with warmth.“This isn’t about her,” I sighed.Hudson paused, his eyes wide as he stared at me, clearly shocked at my words, “It isn’t about Rosanne?” he asked, trying to reconfirm what I had said.“It’s Landon,” I muttered.“Landon? What about him?” he asked.“He has been radio silent, missed his bi-weekly check up,” I replied.Hudson frowned, probably having the same thoughts as I. Landon wasn’t a rule breaker; he understood the importance of the routine check ups.In the human world, we were considered as enemies; monsters whose sole existence was just to eat human flesh. In their eyes, we were barbarians, anima

LANDONDumber screamed, trying to crawl away with his one good leg, “You know, here was perfect, no one would hear you scream,” I said in a dark tone, before stepping on his leg, holding him back from running.“P— please,” he stuttered, as he cried.Dumb, on the other hand, stood frozen, his eyes wide as he looked at the scene before him. I wasn’t going to rush this moment. They were still going to feel every inch of pain that I had promised them“Get away from him! Or I will blow your brains out,” Dumb yelled, finally breaking out of the shock.I raised my hand in the air, turning slowly towards him, “Hey now, you don’t want to do something that would piss me off further,” I warned.I watched as he gently pulled off the safety, firing a bullet straight to my chest. It burned and felt like I had poured a blazing hot cup of coffee on my chest. But a bullet could do no harm to a werewolf, could it now?“Big mistake,” I said.“Fuck,” Dumb yelled, turning around to run away, but I was fas

LANDONIt had become a pattern: I would spend hours at the café, waiting for her to finish her shift, and when that was done, we would take walks around the park before returning to my house. My home felt homier, rather than just a space; having Aurora around had brightened up the place, her laughs, her pathetic attempts at trying to cook. Every moment I cherished, loved and hoped that nothing ever made the tale of her and me to ever end.Tonight felt different. Her eyes kept on looking at the door like she was expecting something or someone to barge through the door. But with what? That was the question I had no answer to.“Are you alright?” I asked, my voice filled with worry as I watched her face.“Hmm mm,” she hummed, sending a smile my way.But it felt different. Her eyes didn’t crinkle, nor did she touch my hand like she usually does. She was different, like she was keeping up an act— she was distant.“Would you be okay if I stepped out for a minute? I will be back later before

LANDON“Aurora,” I repeated the name, smiling softly at the way it rolled softly off my tongue. It sounded like heaven, peaceful, calming just like her.“Forgive me, but I am not the best cook,” she whispered, blushing slightly as she dropped a plate of burnt pancakes in front of me.I could hear just how loud her heart was slamming against her chest, she was nervous, scared of what I would say.“This looks lovely,” I said, my eyes fixed on her face.“Really?” she asked in wonder, her eyes lighting up at my words.Even her reactions were precious, like some gemstone that should be treasured for eternity, “You don’t think it is too burnt?” she asked, her fingers fiddling with the hem of my shirt. After the attack last night, which I am now calling a blessing in disguise. She had offered to come home with me, her words, “You just got hit in the head, you can’t be alone, what if there are complications?”Her worry had warmed my heart. There was nowhere that I could ever tell her no, not

LANDONIt had become a tradition, she would serve me coffee, and laugh as I grimaced, before introducing me to a drink she liked for the day. Through our banter and games, one thing remained, she had yet to give me her name.I never bothered to ask, I just enjoyed the way she blushed, each time I called out to her with a different pet name. I was searching, hoping to find the one that resonated with her and my wolf.“Are you going to tell me your name?” I drawled, my finger touching her hand slowly. I hummed, enjoying the slow buzz feeling, the fire that ignited in my soul the second our skins touched. She shivered, her body moving closer towards mine, seeking my warmth. Her movements were unconscious like she couldn’t handle the distance between us.“And have you not returning if you knew my name?” she whispered, her tone soft, jovial. But beneath her eyes, I could see the truth— fear, that I would grow bored of the chase the minute she tells me her name.My wolf snapped, rage flowin

LANDONHiding away in the human world wasn’t going to make me forget about her. Her smiles, her eyes, even her scent; they drove me crazy. Or at least they did.“Would you like another coffee?” a soothing soft voice serenaded my eardrums and filled my body with warmth.I had thought that I would never be able to get over Rosanne but I was wrong. After her escape from my brother, I had done the only right thing I could have imagined. I decided to leave too. Staying back at the pack would have led me to destruction; I would have chased after her, trying to claim her as mine. But she was Mikhail’s, I could see it in her eyes, beyond those layers of hate, was a glimmer of love. As the saying goes, there is a thin line between love and hate.“Excuse me, do you need any other thing?” the voice called out, snapping me out of my reverie.I smiled, shaking my head as I cleared the fog that had gathered, “I am sorry,” I said in a low tone, my eyes staring into her soft blue orbs. “A cup of coff
