Now alone in her room, Anna took out the red gown from the box and she could see the blue heels that stayed under the clothes, the silver jewelries, thin, but screamed millions. Why were they spending these amounts on her? She wondered.

She let out a lazy breath as she rested her back on the bed, staring at her high ceiling, the chandelier looked right back at her. It seemed to mirror her feelings cause the light dimmed at that instant and she sighed deeply.

Her eyes travelled down to her palm and she could feel it.

The hold of her life gradually slipping away into Xandros's fingers. She had no control anymore.

Her phone vibrated on the bed beside her and she picked it quickly, her eyes scanning for the message.
