Amber’s POV

The forest around us fell silent. It was as if I had killed off every life that existed in and outside our radius, but I didn’t care. Not at the moment. I watched as the bests fell, their gurgling noises cut short.

The stench of their blood saturated the air but I didn’t care about that too.

My feet carried me forward slowly until I broke into sprint. My eyes darted around where they had thrown him and when it locked unto his crumpled body, I gasped. He was soaked in blood which poured out of injuries everywhere.

Noah! Oh goddess, that couldn’t be –

‘Noah?” I gasped, dropping to my knees beside him. My hands hovered helplessly over his unmoving form and tears formed in my eyes.

His clothes was soaked through with blood that coated his skin, giving him an almost red hue. Was he breathing? My eyes scoured over him, but I couldn’t tell. His chest wasn’t moving!

“Help him! Please!” I shouted, my voice breaking. “Please, someone… help him.”

I didn’t even know Janine wa

Amber’s POV I was thankful to Noah for pulling me out of that place if not, I had no idea what I’d have done to that Beta. I pulled at my bottom lip angrily. Even though the room was far behind us, I still shook with anger. Noah snickered beside me and I grunted. “What’s so funny? He was indirectly bullying you, do you know that?” “Of course,” he answered with a wide grin on his face. “But who cares? He was trying to protect you. That’s why I’m happy. You have a lot of people in your life who care about you and your wellbeing. Who love and want to protect you at all costs.” He sighed. “It puts me at ease, Amber. For a long time, I was worried about you but now I’ve seen that I don’t have to worry anymore. You’ve found your place. Where you belong. A family.” I blinked back the tears that gathered in my eyes and looked away. My heart warmed at his words but I didn’t want to show how affected I was by it. I huffed and shoved my hands in my jacket pocket. “Doesn’t mean he has to b

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Under Charge

Amber’s POV After Kevin found the evidence we needed to prove that Yeti wasn’t a spy, everything went smoothly from there. Kevin and Beta Trent left us to take the complete evidence to Alpha Dale and finally, we could actually release our breath. The trial wasn’t going to be holding anymore. Yeti was free. But there were still a lot of unanswered questions and only one man could give us at least some of the answers. I glanced at Noah who had stayed quiet through everything we discussed. He was healing up nicely, but he still looked worse than shit. I stood from where I was sitting and sat beside him on the bed. Leaning on one of the pillows, I closed my eyes and tried to imagine what Yeti’s reaction would be when we returned with the good news. I was sure she’d be overjoyed. But then again, it was too quick to celebrate. We still had a few days to go and no one could tell what was going to happen within that time. Not that I prayed for anything to happen. But if there was anyt

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Mission:Possible

Amber’s POV Our chance for what? He wasn’t making any sense. But then nothing that had been happening in the last twenty-four hours did. It was like we went from bad to worse all in the space of a few hours. I could only guess he was talking about Yeti’s case. Was that it? Was Alpha Dale’s message to him some kind of hidden language that only him understood? Kevin darted around the room much to Janine’s annoyance. “Noah, have you told them any of the things you told me?” Kevin asked. Noah shook his head and opened his mouth to answer but Izzy beat him to it. “Tell us what?” He demanded. “Is there something going on that we should know? You can’t keep anything from us else something like this might repeat itself and I don’t think I have the strength for that.” Janine rolled her eyes. “Maybe if you just shut up and listen then he can explain what it is. And can’t you see Noah is still recovering? We all agreed not to ask him any questions till Alpha Dale returned. So, what’s your

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   The Meeting

Alpha Dale’s POV First of all, I was damn tired. I needed a cold shower, my mate on my bed and a good sleep, but somehow, I was stuck in a meeting with Council member Roderick and Alpha Marcus who I couldn’t tolerate any longer. Now that I knew for a fact that his loyalty wasn’t with me it was as if the veil that had ben draped over me was lifted and I could suddenly see, hear and feel all of his lies. Every single word that came out of that man’s mouth was a freaking lie and it hurt so bad. If my wolf wasn’t constantly healing me, I’d be bleeding from the ears and probably foaming from the mouth Yes, it was that bad. “According to the complaints laid on you by this esteemed Lycan King, you have been charged with insubordination and intentionally hiding relevant and important information.” Council member Roderick said, enunciating ever word like it was a death sentence. He slid a document across the table towards Alpha Marcus. “In the document, he reported that you failed to su

Amber’s POV I woke up with a headache the next morning. I didn’t sleep well through out the night and spent more than half of it waiting for Alpha Dale to return and put an ends to my worries but he never did until I slept off. Izzy and Fabian looked like they didn’t get any sleep at all. Not that they were dark circles around their eyes or anything to suggest that, but they had been up when I went to sleep and they still were when I woke up. Even Noah and Janine were awake. “Good morning, guys,” I greeted sleepily. “Did Alpha Dale come while I was asleep?” “Good morning to you too,” Janine murmured. “My night went well, thanks for asking.” She kept her eyes focused on Kevin who was still unconscious. I guess the wolfsbane wasn’t still out of his system? “No, Alpha Dale didn’t come.” Noah answered, rising to his feet to stretch out. “How was your night? You look like you didn’t have a wink of sleep.” I rubbed my face. “How would you know that? Don’t tell me you didn’t sleep a

  • Bride Of The Lycan King   Recovery

Amber’s POV Janine and I must have dozed off on the couch. I wasn’t sure how long we were out, but we were both woken up by the muffled sound of voices behind the door which quickly escalated to a heated argument. I rubbed my eyes, stretching myself carefully because Janine’s head was still on my shoulder and I didn’t want to completely rouse her in case she wasn’t fully awake yet. Narrowing my eyes, I listened or tried to as the voices became clearer. Janine stirred on my shoulder before sitting up straight, stretching out her body as well. “What’s going on out there?” She mumbled, standing up to check on her patients. When she was satisfied with their progress, she turned towards the door and frowned. “… I said you can’t go in!” Fabian growled, startling us both. “He’s a member of my pack!” A voice I recognized quite well shot back. “You can’t stop me from seeing him.” Janine’s frown deepened and she glanced at me. “Isn’t that …” “Lydia,” I finished. “What does she want now
