“Father?” Xaden questions when I slouch on the couch.

“I can never go against your mother.”

He lets out a sigh and shrugs. It is unsettling me that I know what he is going to do.

“I am going. I guess I am no longer part of this family,” he says and strides towards the door.

We are all shocked when Nadia slaps him so hard, he stumbles before blocking the fall. She is so kind and soft-hearted, I sometimes forget that she is a Lycan.
