Chapter Eight

I arrived home tired and worn out. It had been a long night; from the fight I had with Noah, to the rude and stubborn client I attended to. I was so ready for bed, other things could wait. The only thing I needed to do was check on the twins. They were my lifeline, the only reason I was working hard. I needed to do everything I could for their survival and safety.

I tiptoed into their room, careful not to wake them up. My girl was a light sleeper; any slight noise could wake her up. I did not want that. It made me happy to see them sleeping peacefully and soundly. I wished I could maintain the peace and stability we had started having in this city. I had vowed not to disrupt their lives again. My vows were going to be broken because of Noah.
