Elsa’s POV

At first, I thought it was just in my head.

The way people’s conversations cut short when I entered the hallway.

The way their eyes slid away too quickly.

The way the air seemed colder, heavier, filled with words left unsaid.

But by the third day, I knew it wasn’t my imagination.

I was walking through the west wing on my way to Lady Selene’s chamber when two maids hurried past me, their heads bent close together. I caught only a fragment of what they whispered..

“…the Luna? Too fragile… the Alpha deserves someone stronger…”

They went silent the moment they noticed me, bowing quickly before disappearing around the corner.

My heart stung, but I forced my face to remain calm. I had faced worse. I had survived worse. Still, their words echoed in my head, repeating like a cruel chant.

Too fragile.

Too weak.

Not worthy.

I stopped by one of the tall windows overlooking the courtyard. The wind outside carried the scent of pine and distant rain. Somewhere below, the pack warriors we

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   Shadows in the Halls

Elsa’s POVThe day began with silence. Not the peaceful kind…the uneasy one that makes the air feel heavier than it should. Even the maids moved slower, whispering to one another as if afraid to speak too loudly.I knew something was wrong the moment I woke up. Lila and Neris were standing by my window, speaking in hushed tones until they saw me stir. They froze like children caught misbehaving.“What is it?” I asked, sitting up slowly.Neris bit her lip, glancing at Lila before answering. “There’s been… an incident.”My stomach tightened. “What kind of incident?”Lila hesitated, wringing her hands. “The pack doctor, Elsa. They found him near the southern woods this morning. He’s…”She didn’t have to finish. The way her voice cracked said enough. My breath caught. “Dead?”Neris nodded slowly. “They said it looked like an attack, maybe rogues. But the guards aren’t sure yet.”The doctor. The same man who had claimed Veronica was pregnant.A chill ran down my spine. Something about it d

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   The Whisper Beneath the Moon

Lyra’s POVThe morning air was cool, thick with mist that clung to the castle’s marble walls like ghostly breath. I walked quietly, my cloak drawn close, my boots making no sound on the polished floor. Every shadow felt alive, every creak of wood whispered secrets.Yesterday’s discovery had kept me awake. I could still hear Veronica’s voice echoing in my head — her sweet, poisonous tone as she ordered the pack doctor to lie.“Tell him the baby is stressed. Tell him I need care. The Alpha will never doubt you.”And the doctor’s fearful reply: “You’re beginning to do too much, my lady. You’re not even pregnant.”My fingers clenched around the edge of my cloak. I knew it — I had known something about her story never felt right. But hearing it with my own ears was something else entirely. Now, as the dawn light crept through the eastern corridor, I waited near the courtyard arch, the place where the pack doctor usually passed before morning duties. He arrived right on time, clutching a sm

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   Lyra’s Suspicion

Lyra’s POVThe morning air in the palace was unusually tense. I had left Dylan’s chamber after making sure all the paperwork for the council meeting was ready, but my mind wasn’t calm. Ever since Veronica moved into the Alpha’s quarters, there had been constant whispers maids sneaking glances, warriors exchanging knowing looks, and that fake sweetness Veronica carried like perfume.I wasn’t one for gossip, but I wasn’t blind either. Something about her never sat right with me.As I walked down the long marble corridor, my heels tapping softly against the polished floor, I noticed the pack doctor ahead of me, heading toward the mistress’s room with a leather bag in hand.Strange.The doctor never visited unannounced unless it was serious.I slowed my pace, curiosity instantly pricking at me. I wasn’t planning to eavesdrop but when I reached the corner and heard Veronica’s voice, I froze.“…you have to tell the Alpha the baby is stressed,” she was saying, her tone sharp but sickly sweet

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   Whispers and Watchful Eyes

Elsa’s POVBy the time we returned to the pack house, the sun was already sinking, painting the sky in hues of amber and crimson. The breeze carried the scent of pine and rain-soaked earth, and for the first time in days, I felt a little lighter. Shopping with Neris had helped me forget just for a few hours everything that had gone wrong. But as the SUV rolled past the training grounds and toward the main residence, I could sense the whispers even before we stepped out.“Did you see what she’s wearing?”“Alpha’s black card, they say.”“She thinks she’s the Luna already.”Their words floated through the air like venomous smoke. My stomach tightened, but I lifted my chin higher. I had learned to wear my composure like armor—it was the only thing that kept me from breaking.Neris noticed, of course. She always did. “Ignore them,” she muttered, sliding out of the car and offering her hand. “They’d gossip about a falling leaf if they could.”I managed a small smile. “I’m used to it.”As we

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   A Day to Breathe Again

Elsa’s POVThe soft sound of curtains being drawn woke me. I blinked against the morning light, still heavy from the restless night before. My mind kept replaying Dylan’s apology and Veronica’s smug voice right after. It was as if she enjoyed tearing apart every little piece of peace I tried to build.“Elsa, wake up!” Neris’s cheerful voice filled the room, followed by the sound of Lila placing a tray on the bedside table. “You’ve slept half the morning away.”I groaned softly and pulled the blanket closer, my voice hoarse. “Why are you both here so early?”“It’s almost noon,” Lila said, laughing lightly as she poured me a cup of tea. “Mother said you shouldn’t skip meals, and Alpha Dylan—”At the mention of his name, my heart thudded unevenly. “What about him?” I asked, trying to sound uninterested.Neris held up a sleek, black card between her fingers and smiled mischievously. “He told me to take you shopping.”I sat up instantly, blinking. “What?”“His exact words were, ‘Make sure

  • Broken Luna Rise Back   Luna’s Resolve

Elsa’s POVThe morning air in the training hall felt heavy, thick with whispers that vanished the moment I stepped inside. My Luna classes were supposed to start early, but even before the instructor arrived, I could feel the weight of curious eyes and hushed voices surrounding me like an invisible fog. They weren’t whispering about my lessons. They were whispering about her.“Did you hear? The mistress is expecting the Alpha’s child.”“Poor Luna… what a pity, she’s already losing her place.”Every word pierced through me no matter how much I tried to ignore them. My heart felt tight, but I straightened my shoulders, refusing to let anyone see how deeply it hurt. I was the Luna. No matter what the rumors said, no one could take that from me—unless I let them.Lady Selene entered with her maids, her calm yet commanding presence immediately silencing the room. Her soft gray hair framed her face as she looked around, and when her eyes landed on me, her expression softened.“Elsa,” she sa
