The entire Estrada family, consisting of Rico as the head of the family, Devan and Vano as Rico's two sons, along with their respective wives, and Reynal, Reymond, Leon, and Luna as the four grandchildren, were gathered in the living room to continue the discussion that had left all family members shocked due to Rico's decision to arrange Luna's marriage.
"So, can you explain what you meant by your earlier words, Dad?" Vano asked, not understanding the situation as Rico had made the decision without involving him as Luna's father.
"What else do I need to explain? I know you all understand the words I said at the dinner table," replied Rico.
"Dad___"
"Is grandpa daydreaming? Or did something hit grandpa's head? Well, I'm sure something hit grandpa's head," Luna interrupted her daddy's words.
"I'm in my sound mind, and my decision is final," Rico calmly responded.
"I don't want to get married. I'm still young, and my career is at its peak. I don't want to ruin everything."
"Nothing will fall apart just because you're getting married."
"Ah really, I'm sure you'll match me with a man exactly like you, who will hinder my steps and trap me in an old mansion like Rapunzel," Luna retorted, her anger at its peak. Since last night, she had been annoyed, and Rico's decision added fuel to her fire.
"Why didn't grandpa do the same to Reynal, Reymond, and Leon? And why do I have to be the first to marry? You could arrange Leon's marriage first," Luna continued, causing Leon to glare at her.
"Why are you dragging my name into your problems?" grumbled Leon.
"Because you're different," Rico answered.
"Is it because I'm grandpa's only granddaughter?" Luna quickly responded. Yes, that was true. Luna was Rico's only granddaughter, and she was the most headstrong and unpredictable one. Luna was a spoiled girl, headstrong, with emotions that tended to explode.
"All of your older brothers could find partners who fit grandpa's criteria, and you__" Rico's words hung in the air. Rico was sure Luna understood what he was about to say. His clever granddaughter must have known that he had been observing her closely, watching her every move.
"What's wrong with Albert? We love each other, and that's enough for me," Rico's earlier thoughts were accurate. He didn't need to explain further; Luna would understand on her own what he was trying to convey.
"He's not worthy of you, and you'll only be happy temporarily. After being in a marriage with him for a while, you'll realize that the man you're so proud of won't be able to support all your needs for even a year. No, that's too long. I even doubt he could handle your needs for just a week," explained Rico, causing Luna to clench her fists as her grandfather indirectly insulted Albert in front of the extended family, belittling the man she deeply loved.
"Love isn't just about money, and besides, I can work, and my income can cover my own needs," Luna replied.
"Yes, if he has the audacity to let all of that happen. If you do it, you'll be the one trampling on the dignity of the man you love," Rico replied, leaving Luna speechless. What her grandfather said wasn't wrong. Albert would feel inadequate if Luna did that, and changing his lifestyle might be the tipping point. Luna was accustomed to luxury, and leaving it all behind was like abandoning her true self. A Luna Estrada couldn't be separated from the concept of luxury.
"And one more thing, it's better not to keep that man tied to you for too long. Let him find happiness with a woman who matches him. If you're stubborn, you'll hurt him more. I understand you know what Grandpa is talking about, Luna Estrada," Rico said, causing Luna to frustratingly mess up her hair and choose to end the debate with her grandfather, which had drained her emotions. Even Luna couldn't refute all of Rico's words, as everything he said was true.
For two years, Luna and Albert's arguments revolved around their differing social statuses. Albert often felt inferior as the partner of a supermodel like Luna, yet Luna could still persuade him to stay with her. She assured him that things would become easier eventually. However, now that Rico had revealed the truth, doubt even clouded her own mind. She couldn't even convince herself to hold onto Albert anymore.
Luna climbed the stairs and entered her room, locking herself in. She picked up her phone, still without any notifications from Albert.
"Damn it. Even at a time like this, where could that idiot be?" Luna cursed, once again tossing her phone aside in frustration.
Meanwhile, in the living room, they sat in silence, waiting for Rico to speak again.
"Dad, about Luna__"
"Vano, do you know Jonathan Walker?" Rico interrupted Vano's words.
"Yes, of course. Who doesn't know the business tycoon and also Daddy's good friend?"
"Yes, he's truly remarkable. Everyone would know who he is," Rico confirmed.
"Then, what does he have to do with Luna's issue? Don't tell me Daddy is arranging my daughter to marry that old man. Even though he's wealthy, to become my son-in-law, I still have my sanity intact, Dad. I'd rather approve of Luna marrying that pianist," Vano said, now being comforted by his wife, Rose, who stroked his arm in an attempt to calm him.
"Do you think I'm insane then?" Rico's words puzzled Vano even more, but he felt a bit calmer, knowing that Rico couldn't possibly be that unreasonable.
"So...?"
"And do you know the heir of the Estrada family now?" Rico asked, causing everyone to exchange glances and finally realize the purpose behind Rico's intentions. Yes, Rico was indeed arranging for his granddaughter to marry Lucas Alvarez.
For Rico, Lucas was the right person to handle his headstrong granddaughter, or perhaps it could be the other way around. Only fate would know and determine everything.
"Daddy, are you sure Luna will agree to this arranged marriage?" Devan, the eldest child of the Estrada family, asked.
"Whether she likes it or not, she'll have to agree. I'm not asking for her opinion. It's my absolute decision. If she refuses, the only option for her might be to lose the family name she's been using all this time," Rico explained, causing Vano to swallow hard. Was Daddy really using such a threat to arrange his daughter's marriage?
Slowly, Luna begins to open her eyes and surveys the room she's in. She feels something tightly holding onto her hand, and as she looks down, she sees Lucas, who's asleep while clutching her hand. Luna reaches her other hand to gently stroke Lucas's hair, rousing him from his sleep."Did I wake you up?" Luna asks, causing Lucas to blink his eyes a few times."Are you awake? How do you feel? Is anything hurting?" Lucas inquires, his worried expression reflecting in his eyes."Am I okay?" Luna replies with a faint smile on her lips. They fall into a brief silence, just gazing at each other, before Lucas finally finds his voice again. He extends his hand to tenderly caress Luna's cheek."I'm sorry I couldn't protect you and our baby," Lucas says, causing Luna to furrow her brows."What do you mean you couldn't protect our baby? Did something bad happen to our baby?" Luna questions, concern evident in her voice."I almost let us lose our baby," Lucas says, his head hanging in regret and a
Luna screams as Travis attempts to remove the knife lodged in her shoulder. He glares at Luna with a murderous intent, gripping the blood-smeared knife. Finally summoning her courage, Luna manages to stab Travis's shoulder using a knife she had hidden under the pillow. As Luna suspected, Travis hadn't realized she had hidden two knives earlier as a precaution. Taking advantage of Travis's momentary lapse due to exhaustion from their previous activities, Luna strikes back.Luna finally manages to wound Travis's body, even though her strike misses its intended mark on Travis's chest and ends up hitting his shoulder. Despite this, the wound is deep enough to make Travis grimace in pain, blood quickly staining his chest. What proves lucky for Luna is that Travis had forgotten to lock the door to the room Luna occupied. This oversight allows Luna to flee down a flight of stairs, leading her to realize that the room she was in was at the very top of the building. As she runs, Travis is hot
Lucas, Arka, and Leo are starting to look anxious after flying for hours, yet they haven't found the island where Luna is hidden."Have you checked the island properly?" Lucas asks, causing Leo, who has been focused on a flat object in front of him, to mutter."I don't want us to end up on the wrong island this time," Lucas says again, earning an annoyed look from Leo."Why, do you think finding that secluded island is easy? I might be able to track Luna's whereabouts through her phone network, but look, there are numerous islands scattered across the entire ocean. I don't know which one is where Luna is. Besides, I can't currently trace the phone's signal," Leo explains, making Lucas frustrated. Earlier, they had landed their helicopter on two islands, only to realize they were wrong. This time, Lucas hopes they're on the right one."Do you think that island looks suspicious?" Arka says, gazing at the island below. Lucas also looks down and sees a single building on the island, which
Travis started to bring his face closer, starting from behind Luna's ear where she was particularly sensitive. His tongue danced around her neck, gently grazing it, even as Luna continued to squirm and curse at him. Travis paid no attention to her protests, following his heart's desires even in the face of Luna's resistance.Travis was determined to have Luna, and he intended to do it with tenderness and affection. He believed that Luna would eventually give in to him, even though he was met with rejection at the moment. Luna clenched her fists tightly as Travis touched her so softly. It was far from what she had expected; she thought Travis would be rough and filled with anger, especially after she compared him to Lucas. However, now Travis was touching every inch of her body with a sense of emotion that made Luna have to bite her lip hard to suppress any moans."Even though you've rejected me, I will provide you with a beautiful first night experience that you will never forget," Tr
Luna slowly opened her eyes, sensing someone tightly embracing her, sound asleep. She felt the rhythmic breath on her neck, and as she turned her face slowly, she saw Travis's closed eyes. Luna began to move her palms cautiously in front of Travis's face. When she was sure that Travis was deeply asleep, she attempted to lift Travis's arm that was wrapped tightly around her waist. However, just as she managed to lift his arm a few inches, Travis's body tightened against hers again, causing Luna to hold her breath and close her eyes once more. She was afraid that Travis might wake up as she was about to put her plan into action. Luna waited for a few moments, ensuring Travis was sound asleep before attempting to pull his arm away from her waist once more. She succeeded this time. Travis seemed to be deeply lost in his dreams. Slowly, Luna began to lower her leg off the bed and made her way to a nearby cupboard, retrieving a hidden knife.Returning to the bed, Luna held the knife with tr
Luna takes a step back, her heart racing, as she faces Travis's intense gaze, holding a phone in his hand."Quickly tell me where you got this phone from," Travis asks in a cold voice, making Luna wary since he could potentially harm her and her unborn child, even though she manipulated the pregnancy test results she gave him earlier."I just found it in the wardrobe," Luna replies, her voice shaking, as Travis then hurls the phone against the wall behind her, shattering it into pieces. Luna's eyes widen in disbelief. Then, Travis walks briskly towards her, grabbing her shoulder with a tight grip."Tell me quickly, who gave you this phone?" Travis demands, his grip intense. Luna closes her eyes tightly, not expecting Travis to become this aggressive. She can't tell him that she stole the phone from Priscilla, as she doesn't want Travis to punish the servant who indirectly helped her. Priscilla had informed Luna that she was on a remote island in the middle of the sea.Luna is taken ab
Lucas and Arka forcefully enter a lavish house after Lucas's men incapacitate the guards. Bursting into a room, they startle the occupant who stands up from their seat."What are you doing here?" the person asks, visibly surprised."Tell me where Luna is," Lucas demands, gripping Leo's clothes tightly."What do you mean? Why are you looking for Luna here?" Leo asks, trying to free himself from Lucas's grip and attempting to choke Arka. Arka senses Lucas's emotions and moves closer, trying to restrain him."Don't you want to finish this brat off in our current situation?" Arka says, causing Lucas to finally release his grip on Leo's clothes. He then pushes Leo forcefully, causing him to fall onto the floor."Tell me, did you give her the bracelet she's been wearing?" Lucas asks, making Leo furrow his brows for a moment before lifting his head."So, Luna wears my bracelet every day??" Leo remarks with surprise."That's not the point right now," Lucas replies sternly."Did you plant the
Lucas, Leon, and Arka, followed by Carlos and a few detectives, are currently visiting the homes of fishermen to inquire whether there have been any foreign ships around in the past week. Lucas, Leon, and the others observe Arka as he talks to the fishermen. After waiting for a while, Arka approaches Lucas and the group."How did it go?" Lucas asks."They said there hasn't been any ship passing through Darmaga or any foreign vessel seen in the past week," Arka reports, causing Lucas to rub his forehead, unsure of how to proceed in finding Luna."Does that mean the kidnapper is still on the island?" Leon guesses, to which Arka shakes his head."I don't think so. There must be a way for the kidnapper to take Luna off the island. If he's still here, we would have found her by now," Arka's statement prompts Lucas to nod in agreement."So, what do we do now?" Lucas asks, causing Arka to fall silent as he contemplates their next steps."We need to think of another approach," Arka suggests.
The next morning, Luna woke up to find Travis absent from her room, which brought her a sense of relief. Instead, a servant was present, informed to attend to her needs. "I've prepared warm water for your bath," the servant said as she exited the bathroom, prompting Luna to get out of bed and head towards it.Luna spent a few minutes in the bathroom, trying to gather the courage to use the pregnancy test that Travis had given her. She felt a mix of curiosity and anxiety about whether Travis's claims were true. After a deep breath, Luna finally took the test and then turned her back to it, unable to face the result.Summoning her courage, Luna slowly turned around to see the test. Her eyes widened as her palm covered her open mouth in astonishment. She couldn't believe her eyes – the pregnancy test showed a positive result. Thousands of butterflies seemed to flutter in her stomach as the reality sank in. She felt a surge of joy and excitement.Luna was about to stand up from her seat,
