Zane's Point Of View

Miles leaned in, close enough for me to feel the heat of him. "You’ve got a little…" He reached forward, thumb brushing the corner of my lips in a slow, teasing motion, before leaning back like nothing had happened.

My pulse spiked.

Across the room, Ronan’s gaze was a storm. The kind that cracked the sky in half.

"Ronan? Are you sure you're fine?" his fiancée’s soft voice asked.

He looked away from me immediately, his shoulders stiff. "Nothing. I'm okay."

I turned back to my plate, stabbing at a piece of bread with my fork, my smile fading.

**********

The night air was cool, almost too cool, brushing against my skin like a whisper I didn’t want to hear. Miles and I walked side by side down the dimly lit path, the glow from the streetlamps pooling over us in soft, golden halos.

He was still talking, his voice low and steady… the kind of voice that wanted to soothe but kept slipping into that protective edge he always used when Ronan’s name came up.

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    48~ I Don't Want To Fight With Him

Zane's Point Of View Ronan’s jaw tightened, his expression unreadable for a moment. “You… don’t realize how dangerous that is, do you?”I shook my head slowly, meeting his gaze without flinching. “I do. But I also know what’s good for me. And right now… Miles is good for me.”Behind me, the faint sounds of the library — pages rustling, distant footsteps, the quiet hum of magic lingering in the air — were drowned out by the rapid thump of my heartbeat. The clash of emotions, the heat of confrontation, and the lingering warmth of Miles’ presence made me feel alive in a way I hadn’t in a long time.Ronan didn’t respond immediately. His eyes darkened, unreadable, yet I could sense the restraint, the control he was forcing himself to maintain. And though I stayed firm, I could feel the tension lingering, a silent battle fought in glances, postures, and the air between us.I swallowed, keeping my voice calm even as my pulse raced. “I’m not yours to control, Ronan. And I’m not anyone else’s

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    47~ We Need To Talk

Zane's Point Of ViewThe morning sun streamed softly through the tall windows of the library, casting long golden streaks across the polished floor. Dust motes danced lazily in the light, and the faint scent of old parchment and polished wood hung in the air. I sat cross-legged on the floor between two massive shelves, a stack of books piled beside me. My head was buried in an ancient manuscript, notes scribbled furiously on a parchment I balanced on my knee.Miles settled beside me with a gentle sigh, adjusting the stack of books he had just brought over. “You’re taking this inheritance seriously, huh?” he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from his eyes as he glanced at my notes.“I have to,” I muttered, my eyes scanning the faded script. “If I don’t understand everything before the ceremony, I could… I could mess up. And I can’t afford that.”Miles smiled faintly, sitting closer and nudging a book into position for me. His knee brushed mine, and I felt a slight jolt, my chest

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    46~ You're Mine, Zane

Zane's Point Of View The night air was thick around us, and I could feel every beat of my heart in my chest. Ronan’s presence was overwhelming, pressing me back against the cold stone wall with his body. The tension between us felt like it could snap in any second, and finally, after holding everything in for so long, my emotions erupted.I looked him in the eyes, my voice sharp, biting. “What does it matter to you, Ronan? Don’t you already have a fiancée? Why are you interfering with me?”He didn’t answer, but his hand on my wrist tightened slightly, holding me in place.I shoved at his chest, trying to break free, but it was useless. His grip was ironclad. My chest pressed against his, and the heat of him was maddening, suffocating. I swallowed, feeling the mix of anger, frustration, and something I didn’t want to admit.Ronan’s voice dropped low, almost a growl, and it reverberated against the stone walls. “I never thought of giving you up.”I let out a bitter laugh, rolling my ey

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    44~ Let Him See What He Threw Away

Zane's Point Of View The warm light of the restaurant washed over me the moment we stepped inside, the air thick with the mingled scents of roasted meat, fresh bread, and something sweet and buttery from the dessert counter. Miles held the door open for me, his palm brushing my lower back… steady, grounding, but almost too steady. I could still feel the tight coil in my chest from earlier, the image of Ronan bending over that fragile, porcelain-looking Omega burned into my mind like a brand I couldn’t shake. We were shown to a table near the window. I took the seat facing away from the entrance, not because I didn’t want to know if Ronan came in, but because I did. If I saw him first, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from staring.Miles ordered for both of us, his voice easy and smooth with the waiter. “Two steaks… medium rare for me, medium for him,” he said, then glanced at me with a small smile. “And your strawberry tart. He’s got a sweet tooth he pretends not to have.”I almost

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    43~ He Was Always Lying

Zane's Point Of ViewThe crowd around the entrance of the Werewolf Academy had swelled like a wave, voices rising and falling in fragments of gossip and speculation. I followed close beside Miles, who stayed just a step behind me, his steady presence almost grounding… but my heart was anything but steady. With each step closer, my chest tightened. I couldn’t understand this dread curling in my stomach like a sickness I didn’t know how to name. Then I saw it.A sleek black car with tinted windows, polished to perfection, was parked just outside the academy gate. It gleamed under the amber wash of the late afternoon sun like something out of a high-society magazine. But it wasn’t the car that made my breath catch. It was Ronan, standing tall and poised beside it, dressed sharply in his academy uniform, the wind teasing the ends of his dark hair. His usual scowl was nowhere in sight. Instead, his expression was soft… gentle, even.I froze. And then the passenger door opened.Out stepped
