Madeline sighed, "I’m just glad Caeson showed up when he did, and that nothing bad happened to you."

We went silent, and it lasted for a long time.

I was deep in my thoughts.

I had no idea how Caeson knew I was there, or when to arrive, but I was glad nothing happened.

Last night I had gone home to Madeline, spilling everything that had happened. I promised not to keep anything from her, and I stuck to it.

The moment I got to the dorms, I cried like a baby, and it took a while for Madeline to calm me down.

Madeline offered me comfort throughout the whole day, and when it was time for lunch, we headed to a cafe.

"Hey Char?" Mads suddenly called, as we queued to place orders. "Do you think this would be, like, a new leaf for you and Caeson?"

"I don't think so, Madeline." I dismissed it, hoping not to think about it. "Let's sit out today."
