Author's POV Ken grunted under his breath as he eased Amber’s limp body onto the back seat of his sleek black sedan. Her head lolled slightly, so he cradled it with surprising gentleness, tucking a stray lock of brown hair behind her ear before straightening her legs. He adjusted her position one last time, then slid into the driver’s seat. Amber’s assistant climbed into the passenger side and fastened his seatbelt with a nervous grunt. When the assistant noticed Ken still staring at Amber through the rearview mirror, he snapped, “What are you waiting for, buddy? Drive! You can drool over her some other time! We need to get her to the hospital right now!” The words jolted Ken back to reality.
