LOGINAmber’s POV
"Y-Yes, Dad, how late are you going to be?" I asked my father over the phone, trying to hide my nervousness. "Like an hour," he responded. "Alright, I will wait," I said, taking a deep breath before walking back into the school. I found a wooden bench and distracted myself with games on my phone, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. The sound of loud footsteps filled my ears, and I looked away from my phone as my eyes landed on Xavier. I swallowed hard, it was like I was swallowing a rock, and his handsome face was mirroring the emotions tearing through him. "Mate!" Raven automatically recognized him as our mate, but I was taken aback by his cold demeanor. His face turned red with anger as he stood in front of me, accompanied by two other students, who seemed to be his minions. "Mine." My wolf's declaration seemed unbelievable, considering his aggressive behavior. He approached me with a demanding tone. "I told you to come and see me after school, didn’t I?" he questioned, grabbing my right arm without waiting for my consent. "Let go of me! Who the hell do you think you are? Why would I meet up with you? I barely even know you, even if you happen to be my fucking mate!" I responded, pulling my hand away and stepping back. He was taken aback by my defiance, but his green eyes burned with fury, and lava was literally coming out of his ears. "I'm Xavier, your fucking mate and prince charming, all the she-wolves are dying to be my mate, you ungrateful bitch!" he yelled, attempting to brush a strand of hair from my face. "I don’t give a damn who you are, or if other she-wolves are dying to be with you, I want nothing to do with you, so just leave me alone!" I yelled back, my voice all sharp edges. But my words landed on deaf ears as he took another step closer to me and attempted to touch me. Unable to contain my anger any longer, I slapped him hard across the face. His head flew back, and he held his right cheek in pain, glaring at me as his eyes turned yellow. "No girl has ever dared to hit me, and it won't start with you. You ugly shit, I was just trying to manage you," he growled like a bulldog and snapped his fingers. His minions both came forward and stood behind him, their faces expressionless, and he seemed to whisper something to them, and their eyes lit up, and a creepy smile appeared on their faces. "Leave me alone!" I pleaded, trying to escape, to run away from them. But before I could run, he caught up to me, lifting me in his arms with little to no effort. "Let go of me, you jerk!" I screamed as I pounded my fist on his back, but he didn’t budge. He carried me forcefully into the nearest classroom, while one of his henchmen locked the door behind us. My heart was a pounding mess as I fought back, hitting his back and yelling for help. "Help! Help! Help! Somebody, help!" "Put me down! Why are you doing this to me? I am your mate, for goodness’s sake!" I shouted, but he ignored my pleas. He placed me on an empty desk, and one of his goons held my hands above my head, trapping me in place. "I wanted to accept you as my mate, despite your rank, protect and look after you, but you just have to make things hard, don’t you?" He questioned, his voice getting on my nerves. "Let’s have a look at your precious little tits." His words sent cold chills down my spine, and blood rushed to my head. "P…Please," I managed to say, but he didn’t listen. Xavier started to unbutton my shirt, and fear coursed through my veins. I desperately fought against them, twisting and struggling to free myself from their strong grips. One of my hands slipped out of the hold of his minion, and I slapped Xavier across the face again, harder this time. Red blood oozed out of his nose, and he retaliated with a quick, harsh slap that left a sting on my cheek. "Let me go!!" I cried out, but he silenced me by shoving his handkerchief into my mouth. I felt violated and helpless as he removed my jacket, exposing my inner shirt. Panic climbed up my throat, and the ringing tone of my phone cut through the air, and without even looking at my phone, I could tell that it was my father calling. "Let me go, you sons of bitches!" My words exploded with frustration as I fought even harder, driven by the determination to break free. Xavier stood beside me, unbuckling his belt, while the other minion ogled. But just as Xavier approached, I gathered all my strength and remembered all the last night's lessons of martial arts with Daniel and kicked him in the manhood. He let out a high-pitched scream, clutching his dick in pain. Without wasting much time, he and his minions were distracted. I quickly got off the desk, grabbed my jacket, hit the other minion who tried to stop me in the face, and ran out of the classroom as fast as I could. "Alpha Xavier, are you okay?" I heard his henchmen asking him in the classroom. "Leave me alone and go after that bitch, you moron!" Xavier screamed at the top of his lungs. My breaths rushed out in ragged pants as I ran to the massive gates of the school with all my might. I looked over my shoulder and saw one of his minions chasing after me, yelling at me to stop, but I didn’t listen. Adrenaline pumped harder through my veins and kicked my heart into overdrive as I ran out of the open gates as if my life depended on it, and maybe it did. Fat tears rolled like pearls down my cheeks, and my gaze drifted to my father. He rested against the door of the car, concern engraved on his face, waiting for me. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to catch my breath. "L... let’s go home," I managed to say, avoiding his questions and confusion. "Um, I…" I couldn't find the words to explain what had just happened. My father seemed puzzled, but he obliged as I climbed into the seat next to the driver’s. He entered after me and put on his seat belt before starting the car and driving away from the school. Once we arrived home, I stormed out of the car and slammed the door shut and made my way into the house. My mother tried to speak to me, but I completely ignored her. "What’s wrong, honey?" she questioned, her eyes filled with concern. "I don't want to go back to that stupid school!" I said, my voice rose until I was yelling. "The people there are all sick in the fucking head!" "Language, pumpkin. What do you mean you don't want to go back?" My father cut in, his face serious. "What did they do to you?" Daniel inquired, joining the conversation. "Two he-wolves. They... they tried to…to…" I stammered, unable to say anything as hot tears burned my eyes. My mother pulled me into a tight hug, offering comfort and support, but it did nothing to ease the way I was feeling. "Calm down, my dear. We will find a way to make things right," she whispered soothingly. "I hate how they treat me. They bully me because I'm different," I sobbed, the weight of the torment bearing down on me. My family listened attentively, anger and concern engraved on their faces. "Are you serious?" she whispered, her voice filled with disbelief. "Yes, Mom," I sobbed, seeking solace in her comforting hug. "I won't…I can’t…return to that school." "We shouldn't rush into anything. Tomorrow, we will report this to the teachers and take the necessary steps," my mother suggested, gently pulling away from the hug. Daniel joined the conversation, his hands squeezed into fists. "Tell me what those bastards looked like so I can find them and make them pay," he growled, his fangs bared. "Let's not make hasty decisions," Mom intervened. "I think you should report this to the authorities tomorrow, that’s the only way to get back at them." "I hate that this happened, but going back to that school isn't an option," I insisted, storming off to my room and slamming the door shut. The horrible day’s events came over me from the inside out, like giant jaws opening to swallow me whole. My legs buckled beneath me, and my back slid against the wooden door. I pulled my feet up on the floor and hugged my arms around my knees, holding as my eyes welled up again. My family’s voices echoed through the door. "They have pushed her too far," Daniel remarked. "We thought that school would be the best for her, considering its reputation, but it seems it’s nothing to write home about," Mom responded, her voice filled with regret. As they pondered the situation, my mother knocked on my door. "Honey, please open up. Let's talk," she pleaded. However, anger and fear held me captive inside the walls of my room. I was determined—I would not return to that school.Amber's POV Fuck it. I was done overthinking. I followed Logan into his tiny office without another word. He didn’t look at me; he didn’t waste time with small talk. He just dropped into his chair, flipped open the laptop, and started hammering away at the keyboard. The blue glow from the screen lit up his face, making him look even more tired than before. I couldn’t see exactly what he was doing, but I knew he was pulling up the restaurant’s CCTV footage. His fingers paused for a second, then he glanced up at me. "Hey? Are you just going to stand there? Have a seat,” he ordered, gesturing to the empty chair beside him. I grabbed the chair, pulled it closer, and sat down right next to him, eyes glued to the screen. The footage played. There I was, crashing into the couple’s table like an idiot, then crouching to pick up my pen. The camera angle didn’t catch everything under the table, but it caught enough. It caught the girlfriend’s hand slipping smoothly into
Amber’s POV I swallowed hard and forced the words out, my voice shaky but determined. “I-I do have it,” I stuttered, holding the wallet up so Logan could see it clearly. “But I didn’t steal it, I swear on everything. Let him check it right now to see if any money is missing. If something’s gone, you can search me… or his girlfriend. She would—” “Enough!” Logan cut in sharply, his voice slicing through the air like a whip. The room blurred. Tears flooded my eyes, hot and stinging. I had thought I was strong enough for the real world, ready to stand on my own two feet. Daniel had been right, I wasn’t ready. The world was cruel, and it didn’t care how hard I tried. My gaze flicked to the woman. Her right hand trembled as she covered her mouth, staring at me like she wanted to confess but couldn’t bring herself to do it. I had never felt so humiliated in my life. I had tried to help someone, and it had all blown up in my face. “You should have just minded your own business,” Rav
Amber’s POV I narrowed my eyes at the wallet half-hidden under the edge of the table. Definitely a man’s, thick leather, worn edges, probably his. Was she actually trying to rob him? This nice guy who had been polite to me? No way… she couldn’t be that bold. I shoved the thought aside, snatched my pen from the floor, and started to stand, only for the woman to lean down right then, her manicured hand sweeping across the tiles as if she was searching for something she had dropped. Without thinking, I grabbed the wallet first. Not just because of the nasty way she had spoken to me earlier, but because the guy seemed genuinely kind. If it was his, he deserved it back. A grin tugged at my lips as I straightened up and held the wallet out to her. "Looking for this?” I asked sweetly. Her eyes went wide, pupils blown, like she had been caught on camera. Instead of taking it, she snatched her purse up to her face like a shield, cheeks flaming red. I swear she was trying t
Amber's POV The annoying blare of my alarm clock jolted me awake, pounding in my head like someone was beating a drum inside my skull. I instantly regretted setting it. I slapped it off with more force than necessary, the silence that followed almost deafening. I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes, and my hand brushed across the empty side of the bed. That’s when it hit me, Bella wasn’t here anymore. No more human alarm clock shaking me awake with her endless energy and teasing. Goddess, I had gotten so used to her presence that the quiet felt wrong, like a missing heartbeat. I forced my eyes open wider and checked the time. Shit. 6:30 a.m. I still had to get ready and head to my new job. University didn’t start until next week, alongside Bella, thank the Moon Goddess but right now, I had chicken to deliver and tables to wait on. I jumped out of bed, nearly tripping over my own suitcase, and ran into the bathroom. A quick shower later, hot water barely touching the exhaustio
Amber's POV The office door whooshed open, cutting off my spiraling thoughts as a beautiful older Black woman sashayed inside. Her long black hair gleamed under the fluorescent lights, her presence commanding yet graceful, she looked like she could have walked straight off a magazine cover or a runway. She settled into the revolving chair behind the wide wooden desk, crossed her legs, and flashed a smile that lit up the entire room. That smile, it was one of those rare, one-in-a-million smiles that actually reached her eyes and made you feel seen. Before I knew it, I was smiling back, the knot in my chest loosening just a fraction. “You must be Daniel,” she said warmly, leaning forward slightly. “It’s been a while since I last saw you… goodness, look at you. You have grown into such a fine young man. I almost didn’t recognize you without that teenage scowl.” My gaze drifted to Daniel, who was blushing, actually blushing like a fanboy meeting his celebrity crush. My jaw
Amber's POV The taxi ride to the university passed in a blur, streets, trees, and the occasional honk fading into background noise. When the car finally pulled up to the massive iron gates, I couldn’t stop staring out the window. This was the school I would have attended if I hadn’t earned that scholarship to King’s University in Everbite… and if my family hadn’t been branded outlaws years ago because Dad trusted the wrong people and got labeled a traitor by the Alpha. I wondered how different everything might have been if I had never set foot in that cursed pack. Maybe the Moon Goddess would have given me a mate with the same skin tone as mine. Maybe I wouldn’t have ended up with two mates. Maybe my life wouldn’t feel like one long, exhausting nightmare that kept restarting every time I thought I’d hit rock bottom. A heavy sigh slipped out as I turned from the window. My gaze caught on the back of a she-wolf standing at the gate in the warm afternoon sun, wavy hair catching t

Author’s POV Alpha Mason rushed home the moment Rose’s desperate calls reached him. She had said his mother was having blues again, that she hadn’t gone to work, and that she had been asleep the entire day. For the Luna of the pack, such withdrawal was deeply abnormal. Knowing his mother, she rare
Author’s POV Alpha Mason’s claws hovered just beneath his fingertips as he narrowed his eyes at the Rolls-Royce parked in front of Amber’s house. “Who the hell is that dude?” he thought out loud, the possessive growl in his wolf leaking into his voice. The right door opened, and Amber stepped out
Alpha Mason’s POVI wasn’t expecting to see him here. “Oh, son. It’s such a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know you would be here, you never come here,” my father remarked as he stepped out from behind his desk, the scent of ink, old wood, and his Alpha aura filling the office. “I…um…” Before I coul
