Chapter 2
Lena’s POV Leah and I was in her car as she drive our way to the town mall. We just got the invitation to attend Richard’s birthday party and we have to shop for that. Our discussion on what happened in the school cafeteria today was smooth and never ending. It was a relieving sight. “I mean she got what she wants, now she won’t think of messing with us Queens again.” Leah flipped her hair backward posing the powerful influential female type. I laughed at her demeanor with an eye roll attached. “So there was this guy I met today before we go for lunch, I mean when I ran away from Trevor.” I decided to tell her about the ruby eyed mysterious looking hottie. “Yeah what about him?” She asked in a tone urging me to continue. “Well I don’t know much, I think he’s new and gosh he’s so hot.” I told her, remembering his face when we bumped into each other. How he cornered me into the wall and dominated me in an instant. A whole me Lena Hales getting dominated within seconds. “Do you know his name?” She asked, taking few glances at me. “He’s New, until he has make an appearance or introduce himself I don’t.” I replied, putting obvious emphasis on the New word. Her car came to an halt at the designated spot for parking in straight wide lanes in front of the biggest and only mall in Willow Town. Stepping down simultaneously like the twin they call us we marched inside the mall and straight into the clothing section. We began by picking several smart dresses and going to the dressing room to try them on. Leah picked a golden floral dress designed with crystals at the hem of the cloth in his right hand, and another Lacey black shining dress in her other hand, both pointed at me for me to make a chose for her to go try on. “The floral looks way too girly so I’m picking the feminine power one,” I said referring my pick to be the black dress in her left hand. She dashed into the dressing room while I continue battling with a perfect wear for me. I just couldn’t pick something since I came here and it’s getting late already. Leah came back some minutes later looking so sexy and beautiful in the body fitted gown she wore, the lace in it brought out the glamor and all. She cat walked around for me to see her well in the dress, while I hailed relentlessly whistling at her beauty for pulling the dress off. “I gotta go pee Babes,” she wheezed in distress, rushing back to the dressing room then she came out seconds later rushing out of the section to the toilet I can tell. I continue searching for the perfect wear till my eyes sighted the gown wore by a mannequin. I called to one of the parading workers to help me get the dress off and packaged with the stuffs we’re buying. I have found the perfect dress for tonight’s party. The moment we leave this mall, we’re heading straight to the party not home. I started to imagine how I’d look in the outfit, it was a Jean shiny trouser with a pink designed top and a crystal jammed jacket to roll with it, the top was crop top making the dress more beautiful and outstanding. I can’t wait to see the envy in Leah’s eyes when she sees what I later got for myself. “Something weird just happened,” came a plain still voice that had me startled for a bit as I turn to see Leah’s face. She had on an expression that doesn’t quite tell much about her feelings, but one could tell how shock and confused she’s by the way she’s staring plainly at me like someone who saw a twerking ghost. “You can start by telling me what happened and not staring at me like a lost goat.” I move past her heading to where our things were and away from the set of mannequins. “Will you believe me if I tell you I found my true mate or however it’s meant to be?” The crazy girl spoke from behind me, telling me one of her crazy theories for life. Because it’s not possible to find a mate when you already have a mate; a true mate to be specific. You don’t get a mate twice. “Yeah you wish, but you’re stuck with Luke forever baby girl, accept it.” I quickly told her, concluding her of whatever she’s about to say that backs up her crazy theory. “I swear to God Lena I just met a ruby eyed guy at the hallway while coming from the toilet back here and he’s my mate.” It was my turn to be shocked and confused. How could that same mysterious guy come to this mall where I happen to be shopping at, is he stalking me? That aside, how the fuck is he mated to Leah when Leah already has a mate. Or is it possible Leah has two fated mates. “Lena say something because I’m going crazy here.” “Did you stop him? Did you talk to him? Are you sure he’s your mate?” I can’t help but asked, because at this point everything is becoming confusing. Never in the history of werewolves is a wolf said to have more than one fated mates, or I at least have never heard of it, and I don’t think it’s possible. “Yes I stopped him, I said can he feel what I’m feeling. It’s a weird question because I don’t know if he’s a werewolf or human but he said yeah. And then before I call him mate he walked out. Lena I swear to God this boy is drop-dead gorgeous, he’s so freaking hot. I’m happy I have a second mate.” Talkative Leah was the one talking to me and soon I will regret why the moon goddess as to pair with her another mate that has my best friend in happy mode because he’s super hot. “This talk is adjourned to later, we’re late for Richard’s party.” ****** This party was totally insane! Club 99 was closed and reserved for Richard Price’s strictly-by-invitation birthday party. A big cheesy disco ball was spewing out dancing dots of lights, splashing glitter all over the floors and walls. Nevertheless, only strategic places were illuminated by the flashing pink and blue lights, a greater perimeter was left in dimly-lit murkiness which was probably full of people doing things that were reserved for dark and dingy areas. In one corner, it seemed like Zara Beige was getting manhandled. I think that’s the only way to describe the clumsy movement of his hand under her shirt as he does something to her breasts that reminded me of a terrible summer I spent at my Aunt’s Dairy Farm in Texas milking cows. Oh well, Zara seemed to have been enjoying it. At another corner, I saw Zachary and his friends at the bar laughing loudly and chatting over their glasses of whisky and vodka. I saw Collins pouring shots into Brian’s mouth. Brian, a lightweight who never learns his lesson each and every time he wakes up in a pool of his own puke. Someone is definitely going to be clinging to the rim of a toilet bowl soon; someone ironically named Brian. My eyes dragged over to the final corner. I saw her. She’s with her boyfriend or her mate, Luke and her both were with their iPhones out, and of course. They’re squishing their faces together as they pose romantically in front of their screens. They’re probably taking their hundredth selfie tonight, Snapped, Instagrammed, Tik-Toked and had the hell hashtagged out of it. Or whatever they do with their pictures. The perks of being the cutest couple at school that everyone admired but secretly envied because they were the ultimate match and the perfect package. But then wasn’t she happy she just got mated to another guy I happened to have bumped into. Roaming my eyes it landed on the door opened and I was left awestruck at the entrance of the same magnificent specimen. He looked like he had just walked out of a “Sexiest Man Alive Magazine.” Cringe as hell but– fuck, he was so god-damned good-looking. And I’d be evil if I kept all the candid details to myself. His lush jet-black hair was neat and flowing, groomed so carefully such that they deeply complimented his ruby eyes that were beautiful, orb-round and shone like two eternity crimson red jewels, yet they held a cold, hostile gleam etched in their glassy gaze, and it was almost bewitching. His chiseled jawline was a bit downplayed by his neatly, bearded face and his lips sat gracefully on his face, which seemed like it was always, permanently scowled but in a tremendously attractive way. He was tall, rigidly fit and dazzled with flare in a dapper navy-blue button up shirt, a pair of Calvin Klein jeans and sneakers. I wanted to go talk to him and have him tell me why he has been stalking me since we met, and I did. Oh no someone should stop me because I’m getting closer. And his eyes just landed on me, a smirk immediately curling up his heart shaped lips. Just before I got to him my phone vibrated against my palm. I gave him a look before turning away and heading to the restroom direction instead. I got there bringing the phone out and seeing the caller was my dad. “Hey dad, this isn’t the best time to call honestly, I’m in the middle of living my best life at a party.” I said the moment I picked the call, every where is so noisy and the phone’s speaker is glued to my ear so I would hear him a bit clearly when he responded. “Come home Lena, something just happened, we just lost your mother.”CHAPTER 127 (Epilogue) LENA. "Do you think this is a good idea?" I asked Damon as I slipped into a simple gown. One I usually wore when going to important meetings. Damon, who had slept over, all thanks to my Dad who gave him the permission, was still on the bed typing away at his phone. He looked up at me. "What's that? The meeting?" I nodded. "Yes." He climbed out of the bed and placed his phone on it before walking over to where I stood and cupping my cheeks. "Yes, love. It is an absolutely good idea. An opportunity for me to make it up to everyone and I don't think I can do it without you. So get dressed and let's go to the council meeting." "Okay?" I nodded. We arrived late. The meeting had started about an hour ago and just as we stepped in, everyone turned to look at us. Master Choi was at the door. He smiled at me. "You did it." I looked at Damon who shook his head. He didn't want me telling people what happened. It was our little secret and I was going to keep it f
CHAPTER 126 LENA. We were back in Willow Town. Directly in front of the tree close to the portal. Damon decided that closing it for good was the best idea. And I agreed to it. As soon as it was closed, I turned to him with a bright smile on my face. "I still can't believe that this is already over. It ended as soon as it began." "It wasn't easy anyway." Damon replied as he parted a branch for me to pass through. "I thought I was going to die for real. Metheus he...he makes me so afraid." "But he's gone now," I took his hand in mine and we intertwined fingers. "He's gone for good." "And I am happy." He sighed and looked at me. I pushed back a lock of his hair that fell over his face. "I am so happy, Lena. I am happy to be here with you. I want to help now. This is my way of repaying my sins." "It wasn't your fault," I said to him as we burst out of the woods. I smiled, seeing that my car was still there. It was almost dawn and I could tell from the way the skies
CHAPTER 125 LENA. "She is the weakest of them all," He snarled, his feet leaving the ground as he floated into his air and commanded darkness. "I thought we were bringing some challenges. But this one? She's going to be dead before this ends." "Don't listen to him, Lena. He's trying to make you afraid of him. It's what he does." This was definitely harder than I thought. I was just coming out from the shock of seeing everyone that had died in the attack and having to let them go for good. There was this pain and burning hatred in my chest and it was all directed at the man standing before me. He was evil, menacingly cunning like the Devil and I saw why Damon was so afraid of him. I would be too. But I wasn't. All I wanted to do was avenge the death of my mother and everyone else. I had vanquished all of his demons, had his sons all locked up in abyss and it was just me and him against the whole fucking world. He was strong, I had to admit that. None of
CHAPTER 124 DAMON. Wyverns. I hated them with everything in me. They were the bane of my existence and my father had used these creatures to traumatize me a whole lot of times. I didn't even want to think about it. But Lena was standing beside me and she didn't look the least afraid. "They are an illusion, Lena," I informed her. "Created in his mind and brought to life like a hologram." She nodded. "That means we go for him?" I nodded. He wasn't here yet but that was the memo. "Yes." From the tower, we could see the Palace. There were several entrances on each floor and I knew which he was going to step out from. More wyverns flew out through the dome of the castle, flapping their dark, veiny wings and screeching into the night air as they flew around. One swooped down to our level and I ducked, pulling Lena along with me. "Their talons are sharp enough to kill you." "Not if we kill them first." "My father, remember?" She nodded. Just as we mo
CHAPTER 123 LENA. My smile didn't falter. Not even when uncertainty creeped in. "Trap?" I burst into laughter. "That's nice. What type of trap though? A bobby trap?" I burst into laughter when I noticed how their frowns deepened. "We have no time for that. You're going to calmly walk to us and you're going to surrender. Unless you want us to force you." Slowly, my arms spread out. My eyes darted over to the other side of the wall. It was just Damon there. Just as he shook his head at me with panic in his eyes, he was pulled off the wall forcefully. I frowned and darted my eyes back to the men before looking back at the fort. Damon was in combat with Stefan. What the fuck? Something was wrong and Damon was unaware. Closing my eyes, I felt my powers bubble up from my insides. My eyes opened and I didn't miss the shock on the men's faces. A smirk curled up my lips and I drew close, feeling frost coat on my fingers. One of the guards broke out of the others and
CHAPTER 122 DAMON. We both took a seat on one of the tree logs and maintained an awkward silence. She probably didn't care but I did. I wanted to tell her that I missed her and that I wanted to kiss her full on the lips. That I wanted to touch her and sink my fingers into her hair. But she didn't seem to be in the mood for all that. If there was someone more determined than Stefan, then she had to be the one. She placed her backpack on the floor and zipped it open before grabbing a bottle of water and a croissant. She looked at me and raised it into the air in a way of asking me if I was going to eat but I shook her head and smiled at her in appreciation. Nodding, she sank her teeth into the croissant and began to chew slowly as she took a look around. She gulped down her water and kicked at a stone. I knew she was avoiding me. I knew she was avoiding getting into a conversation with me. Sighing, I leaned against the tree trunk close to me and watched her while she a
