Chapter 15

Joy sighed, lost in her thoughts with a look that showed fear, sadness and confusion. She stared blankly into empty space while swinging from left to right on her office chair holding a pen lightly again her lips. 

"Joy...Joy...hello..." Luther said almost shouting and snapping his fingers in an attempt to capture her attention once more. 

"Yes" she finally responded, startled.

"I asked you a question" he paused as if to see if he still had her with him.

"Why do you push him away?" He asked with a smile on his face that hinted that he was both baffled and puzzled by her. 

She stopped swinging on her seat, fixed her gaze firmly on his face but paying no mind to the perfect white line of teeth revealed by his partially separated lips.

"sometimes things... People are not as they seem"

Luther rapidly moved his head to the side as if to look away from her and then right back to the center to face her directly.

" What do you mean
