Twenty-seven
When Emma heard Hannah's voice, she got more nervous than she already was. It took her a lot of time to build up her courage to visit Mila after the phone call with Julie. Emma looked down for a moment then looked back up at the two girls. If looks could kill, Hannah's glare could have killed Emma.
"I... I want to s-see her," Emma mumbled, her heart beating fast. She did not dare to look at Julie, how could she possibly face her after what Cole forced her to do?
"Never in a million years," Hannah said with a stern voice.
"You don't h-have the right t-to do that!" Emma exclaimed in a quiet voice.
"Actually I do, do I need to remind you of what you said on the phone?" Hannah raised her eyebrows at Emma and folded her arms. Emma went silent and did not know what to say. She wished her life could have been easier in any way.

The next morning, Mila woke up and found Blake already in the room and Emma was nowhere to be seen. She kept looking around, making sure that Emma was not in the room. I did not know how long I had been in the closet, I did not have a watch, a mobile phone, or anything. I was hot, tired, thirsty, and hungry. I wanted to get out so bad, but Cole locked me inside and I did not know how to get out. I hated dark and closed places and now I was being kept in a small dark area. Mila looked at Emma's face when Cole walked in and she understood that Emma did not want him there. It was obvious from her pale face and shaky hands, from the look in her eyes and the worry and nervousness written all over her face that he made her feel petrified. Emma was finally able to have some good sleep after a long day. Her panic attacks wore her out and seeing Cole did not help. She wanted some rest; in fact, she needed it. Ten days passed since Emma was forced to ruin her friendship with Mila, ten days passed since Emma felt like she had somebody she could turn to, ten days passed since Mila felt lost and confused. The first day was the day Emma snapped at Mila. She stayed in the hospital bed, crying silently. When Cole entered the room, she did not acknowledge him, she was too lost in her thoughts to give a damn about his presence in the room. He took the recorder from under the bed and started to listen to everything loudly, just to torture Emma. He made her listen to her harsh words and Emma could swear that she heard Mila's heart getting broken just by the way she talked. Cole looked at Emma and said, "Good job." Little seven years old Emma was playing in front of her house, she was all alone. Her parents were at work and her babysitter was an eighteen-year-old girl who barely cared about her, she was busy with her boyfriend inside the house and did not care that a seven-year-old child was all alone outside the house. She gave her Twinkies to eat and let her play in the front yard of the house. Emma had her bicycle with her and some other toys. She had her tiny backpack with her that contained the Twinkies and a watch that was given to her by her babysitter. Emma was a smart child and she understood how watches work. The babysitter gave her one, so she would not ask about the time and told her not to ask for food till it was twelve.Emma's stomach growled in hunger, so she took her Twinkies out of her small backpack that she left on the grass. As she was about to eat, a ten-year-old boy appeared out of nowhere and snatched them from her small hands, making the cute little girl frown.
