The Contract

Next Morning, Liana was in the kitchen preparing the dishes when Lucas came in, he informed that Tony wanna asked her to see him in his office. She groaned hearing his name, she left whatever she was doing to meet him. Getting inside his office, she met him busy with his phone, she bowed her head down standing in front of him. Tony glanced at her and rolled his eye ball.

“Liana, i want us to be in a marriage contract” He said and she looked at him.

“So now, he is proposing to act as his wife” She muttered as she continued to stare at him.

“We would only be in the contract marriage for a few months so that i can settle everything with my parents” He said.

“No, you must be joking…How can i be in a contract marriage with you” She said in disbelief and continued, “You are my boss”

She looked at him for a longtime with hundreds of thoughts rushing through her mind. “How could I be in a contract marriage with this pervert? It was all so confusing. He is my boss and moreover he doesn’t love me, he only wants us to be in a contract marriage? I don’t think I can do this.

Tony stood up from where he was sitting and moved closer to her, he took a document that was on the table and gave it to her, she stared at the document in her mind.

“I don’t think i can do this” She finally says something after a few seconds.

Tony got angry, he shook his head and said, “If you don’t sign it, you know what i can do” 

Liana stared at the document and at him, she was confused. She didn't want to lose her job, so she dropped the document on the table and ran out. When she got outside, she gasped for air and walked slowly away. As soon as she got to the kitchen, she brought her phone and decided to call her best friend to ask for her suggestion. When Rina picked the call, she narrated everything to her.

“I suggest you should do it, moreover he will pay you. You know if you don’t do it you will lose your job” Rina said.

“I think i should just resign, i can’t be with a guy that doesn’t love me” She said and sigh.

“Okay, i need to hang up” Rina said and hung up without waiting for her response.

Liana dropped the phone on the table, she rubbed her hands on her hair and sighed out loud. Not long after, Thomas entered the kitchen, he called her but she was immersed in her thoughts, he walked towards her and tapped her, she flinched.

“Hey, it’s me. Why are you so lost” He asked, gazing at her.

She shook her head and left the kitchen. When she got outside, she met a man and a lady sitting on a chair, she walked towards them.

“Good morning, ma/sir” She greeted them with a smile.

The man responded while the lady smirked and flipped her hair back. They told her the room they needed. After she was done attending to them, she went to the kitchen to assist Thomas. Minutes later, Lucas entered the kitchen.

“Go and serve dishes to those in room 203, this is what they order for” He said and stretched a paper to her, she collected it and glanced through it.

“Okay” she said with a nod then Lucas left the kitchen.

She went to prepare the dishes. After the dishes were done, she served it on a tray and put it on the trolley. She pushed the trolley out of the kitchen when she got to the front of the room, she knocked on the door but there was no response. She was about to knock on the door again when a guy opened it, she pushed the trolley in and served the dishes, she glanced at the lady who was laying on the bed and left. 

She was on her way downstairs when her phone suddenly rang, her sister’s name popped on the screen, she picked it.

“Sis, mom is in the hospital…she isn’t feeling well. The doctor said he needs money before he can start treating her” Sarah said.

“What? I don’t have any money with me right now” she muttered, rubbing her hands on her hair.

“Please find something to do sis, the doctor needs to treat mom” Sarah said.

“Don’t worry, I will get some money” She said and hung up.

When she got to the kitchen, she left the trolley and ran outside. She ran to Tony’s office, she didn’t bother to knock, she barged into his office. Tony smirked seeing her.

“Have you thought about it? Are you ready?” He asked but she ignored hsi questions.

“Sir, I need some money to treat my sick mother” She said.

He frowned and rolled his eyeball.

“What if I tell you that I don't have any money” He said, gazing at her.

“Please, I promise to pay you back… i don’t want to lose my mother” She pleaded with him.

He smiled.

“Okay, fine but there is only one condition if you want me to pay for the treatment” Tony said, gazing at her.

She looked at him, they both stared at each other.

“What is it?” She asked.

He stretched a document to her.

“If you sign the contract, I promised to pay for your mom’s treatment and I'll pay you very well.. All you have to do is to fake being my fiance for four months” He said, staring at her.

She collected the document and stared at it, she was confused. She’d never deceive anyone before but now she was going to deceive thousands of people by acting as someone she wasn't. Ater sometimes thinking about it, she took a pen and signed it because she had no choice, she needed money to treat her sick mother. Tony smiled when she was done signing it,.

“Take the money” Tony said and gave her the money.

She collected it and kept it. She was about to leave when he called her. She stopped walking and turned to him, he stood up and moved closer to her.

“We need to meet on Sunday, I need to take you to visit my pa rents” He said.

She nodded and left his office.
