Rhea's POV

“Why don't you tell me what I did for you to have slapped me the moment I walked in instead of yelling at me like a dog? Have you no manners, brother?” I questioned, glaring at him.

Jason froze immediately, his eyes widening. I scoffed as I could see what he was thinking written so clearly on his face.

“She wasn't throwing a tantrum after being slapped?”

“She even dared to talk back to her older brother?”

Questions were floating around in the sitting room, even the servants who were nearby were staring at me with such shocked looks on their faces.

“You… What did you just call me? You just… You called me a dog?!” Jason's voice went high pitched at the end of his sentence.

I shrugged, “If the shoe fits, you wear it. Or how did the saying go?”

“Rhea! I'm your older brother! How dare you speak to me like that?!” He yelled again, his voice booming.

“Oh… What did you expect me to do then?” I gave him a crooked mocking smile, “Did you think I would scream

  • CEO Wants Me: Heiress Has Risen Again!   Chapter 181

Alaric's Pov My heart stopped. I stared at her, barely able to believe the words that had just come out of her mouth. Rhea, my Rhea, was glaring at me like I had just offended her for forgetting something as monumental as a childhood promise. But that wasn’t the issue. The issue was that she wasn’t supposed to remember. It's not like I didn't want her to remember, if she had remembered under different circumstances, I would have been over the moon. But she remembered those childhood memories that she previously didn't remember when I asked her about it, and then forgot the ones she had made in the future. “You weren’t supposed to remember that.” I finally said in a breathless whisper, my voice barely audible. “What the fuck do you mean by that?” Rhea’s tone turned defensive, suspicious. She leaned forward slightly, wincing from the movement, and Laziel immediately reached out to steady her. “Don’t move too fast.” Laziel said gently. Rhea narrowed her eyes at me, “You

Rhea’s Pov The Doctor gaped at me after I finished speaking, but then he smiled, “There might be an explanation for that once we run a few more tests.” “Oh, okay.” I murmured under my breath, “Where is Alaric? I want to see him.” I asked. “Alright. I'll call him in for you. He's been waiting outside since when you first woke up.” The doctor said on his way out. After he left, it was silent for a while. I could only hear the beeping of the machines that were connected to my body and then, the doors opened. I whipped my head towards the door and my lips widened into a smile the moment I saw Alaric. “Alaric!” I brightened up and scrambled to get off the bed but before I could even make a move, I was pulled into a very warm embrace as Alaric buried his face in the crook of my neck. The movement made me freeze at first, more from pain than anything else. His arms wrapped around me so tightly it was like he thought I would disappear if he let go of me. I could feel the tremble in his sh

Rhea's Pov I just realised that my hair had grown longer than it was supposed to be. Why? Why was it like that? Why didn't I remember what led me to be admitted into the hospital? Why? My heart started racing, and panic clawed up my chest. I felt like I was suffocating under confusion. My body ached in ways that didn’t make sense, like pain layered on top of old wounds I didn’t even remember getting. The doctor stepped closer, more cautious now, like he was afraid of triggering something, “Miss Thorne…” He said slowly, “How much do you remember?” I paused. There was something in the way he asked that and I didn’t like it. It was as if something had happened, something really bad. “What kind of dumb question is that?” I snapped, my eyes narrowing. I was feeling more irritated than ever, “Would I be asking if I remembered anything?!” His shoulders tensed, “I… I apologize, I just needed to confirm. You were in a coma… for nearly eight months.” I stilled. The silence in the room

Rhea's Pov A dull, throbbing pain shot throughout my body like ants eating at my skin. It hurts so much. My fingers twitched first, followed by a tight breath that forced its way through my lungs. My throat was dry and raw. I tried to swallow, but doing that small action hurt like hell. The fluorescent lights above me felt like someone was using a knife to jab at my eyes. I winced and closed them again. Why was it so damn bright?!I waited a few seconds before blinking slowly. The room started to come into focus, slowly becoming clearer. In front of me was a white ceiling. I could also hear the sound of machines humming. It sounded like that steady, rhythmic beep of a heart monitor that they normally used in hospitals. Then the faint scent of antiseptic and sterile air invaded my nose. A hospital? Was I in a hospital? I turned my head sluggishly to the side, ignoring the slight pain that coursed through me when I did that and saw someone slumped in a chair beside me. It was a young

Alaric's Pov I sank to the chair beside her, my hands on my knees, my throat clenched as I watched her chest rise and fall slowly, the beep of the machine echoing in the hospital room. A part of me wanted to go back to Briovic just to hit him until he didn't ever wake up while another part was whispering about how I had failed her. How I had let her get hurt. My eyes burned with tears but I squeezed them shut. “I should have gotten to you sooner. I should have tried to pry into what was going on.” I whispered. But of course she couldn't hear me, she was still unconscious. In a coma where the doctor said she might not wake up for a while as her body was struggling to heal all the damages that had been done. “I know that I'm supposed to let you go…” My hands hovered above hers, but I didn't touch her. It felt like I didn't deserve to touch her, "I'm supposed to protect you from afar just like I used to do previously and watch you find your happiness in the hands of someone else

  • CEO Wants Me: Heiress Has Risen Again!   Chapter 176

Alaric's Pov “It's just as I said. There has been a notification to every person who deals in the underground business not to touch the woman named Rhea Thorne as she's under the protection of one of the Seven Nights of the Underworld so no one had dared to touch her.” “Why did you?” “I owed Ginny a favour which I had to pay and I also wanted to see the woman who had an immunity from killers in the underworld. Nothing else.” My jaw clenched at his response. That immunity... I always suspected someone was watching Rhea's back from the shadows and that man from that night had already admitted to watch her, but I never thought it was one of the Seven. And now I had to ask the one question that had been burning in my chest for months. “Who was it?” I asked lowly. Briovic blinked through his swollen lids, “W… What?” I stepped forward slowly, crouching so we were eye-level, my voice cold and even, “Which one of the Seven Nights was protecting Rhea? Who was behind that warni
