Investigate

Noah locked the door, opened his laptop, and typed in the search bar, "Is there really someone in the world who looks exactly the same but has no blood relation?"

The answers were varied.

Some said yes, some said no, and after searching for a while, he couldn't find the answer he was looking for.

Noah stared at the computer screen, lost in thought.

Why did that Alexander look exactly like him?

Why could he feel a sense of familiarity from Samantha that even his own birth mother couldn't provide?

Could the Alexander be his real brother?

Moreover, was Suzy not his real mother, but Samantha was?

A series of questions lingered in his mind.

It seemed that if he wanted to find the answers, he had to take matters into his own hands.

...

Having just returned to London, Samantha was extremely busy. She not only had to organize the house and buy household items but also had to find a kindergarten for the two little ones. After a whole day of busyness, she finally selected a kindergarten and rushed to the mall with the children for some shopping.

"Charlotte, you like strawberries. I'll buy you this red strawberry-flavored toothpaste."

"Alexander, you don't like sweet toothpaste, so I'll get you this sea salt one."

These little ones had peculiar tastes. Most kids their age liked sweet things, but not them. Alexander even avoided any hint of sweetness in toothpaste. She wondered if this unique taste resembled his father's or his mother's.

While Alexander was holding Charlotte, browsing through toys, he suddenly felt discomfort in his stomach. Holding his stomach with one hand and Charlotte with the other, he absentmindedly replied to Samantha, "Anything, as long as it's not sweet."

Samantha noticed something off about him and asked, "What's wrong? Stomachache?"

Alexander, trying to endure, nodded, "Yeah, I think I have a bit of a stomachache. I want to go to the restroom."

Samantha held his hand, concerned, "Let me take you."

Pulling his hand away, Alexander said, "No need, I'm already grown up. I can go by myself. Continue shopping; I'll be right back."

Although still worried, Samantha took out tissues from her bag and handed them to him, "The restroom is near the elevator we just came up from. Remember, don't run around. Charlotte and I will be waiting here for you."

"Got it! Remember, make sure to take good care of Charlotte. Don't lose her again."

Taking the tissues, Alexander reassured her and hurriedly left.

This scene happened to catch Noah's attention.

He was in a high-end children's clothing store, and the two sections of the store were separated by a walkway. Samantha and her family were in the daily household goods section, while Noah was in the children's clothing section.

The salesperson was enthusiastically introducing the latest products to Noah, but his mind was entirely focused on the heartwarming scene of Samantha's family not far away. His face was filled with envy.

"Noah..."

Noah remained indifferent, showing no reaction.

"Noah..."

The tone carried a hint of impatience and coldness. Noah still didn't respond, continuing to focus on Samantha, yearning to get closer to her.

This was the first time he had taken the initiative to approach someone. Calling him twice with no response, Ethan narrowed his eyes dangerously, his face slightly darkening. He walked over to Noah, intending to find out what was going on. However, Noah withdrew his gaze before he could reach him.

Noah's eyes flickered slightly, a plan forming in his mind.

"Father, my stomach hurts. I need to go to the restroom."

Ethan didn't miss the expression on his face. Staring intensely into his eyes, he warned sternly, "Remember, don't run around. Don't let the incident from last time happen again, or I'll break your legs."

Noah clenched his fist by his side, eyes lowered, concealing his true emotions. He bit his lip and answered, "I know."

"Go!"

Noah picked up the tissues and walked calmly out of the children's clothing store. Ethan watched him leave, his gaze following the direction Samantha and her family had been, now looking at a row of children's toys.

Did Noah want toys?’

...

After leaving the children's clothing store, Noah entered the upscale mini-supermarket where Samantha was. The area Samantha occupied and the high-end children's clothing store were conveniently separated by a shelving unit.

Successfully blocking Ethan's line of sight.

Samantha, seeing his attire, wondered, "Weren't you wearing a black vest just now? Why did you change into a little suit?"

Noah calmly replied, "I accidentally stained my clothes just now, so I bought whatever."

"Whatever?" Samantha raised an eyebrow, picking up a corner of his clothes and rolling it between her fingers.

The texture didn't seem like cheap fabric at all.

As she was about to check the label on the collar, Noah, afraid she would see through it, covered his stomach, pretending to be uncomfortable, and said, "My stomach still feels a little uncomfortable. Can you take me to the hospital?"

He needed to quickly get Samantha away. Otherwise, when the real Alexander returned, he wouldn't be able to stay close to Samantha and investigate the truth.

As for the real Alexander...

Since Samantha couldn't distinguish between him and Alexander, his father would surely be even less able to. Let him stay with his father at the Steele family for a few days.

As expected, his words quickly diverted Samantha's attention. Seeing his complexion indeed not looking great, Samantha immediately went to the cashier to pay. After providing the delivery address and time to the salesperson, she took Noah and Charlotte to the hospital.
