14. My Future Wife

Max rubbed Gabriella's pale cheek. In a sudden, his heart rippled with an indescribable feeling.

“This girl must really hate me. Can I face a wife who holds a grudge against me?"

The CEO's hand shifted to gripping the fingers that were threatened before.

"I'm so lucky that Sharp Knife still has a heart and common sense," he sighed, looking down. "Thanks to him, I still have hope."

Gently, Max pulled Gabriella into his arms. Without hesitation, he closed his eyes while stroking the girl's hair until his hand stopped moving.

For the first time, Max Evans fell asleep with such a gloomy feeling and a woman in his hug.

The next day, the CEO opened his eyes and found that he had not moved at all during the night.

After confirming that the girl in his arms was still asleep, he loosened his embrace and adjusted Gabriella's reclining position.

"I hope today is a good day for us," Max whispered before getting out of bed.
